    We're here to deter any military aggression across the whole region of the South Atlantic Islands and to demonstrate the UK's commitment and capability to defend them if the need should arise.
    Because they are British, and will remain British,
    [][and now we sit back and wait for the moaning and crying of the argies,
    perhaps their goverment will put in an apearance,
    and inforce their view with
    talk talk. laugh laugh .

    In line with UK government policy, British forces remain in the Falklands following the 1982 campaign to help guarantee the Islands' safety and to support the population's wish that the Islands remain UK sovereign territory.
    Kiwisarse.....Please note, it is the Falkland Islands....the Malvinas DO NOT exist !

    @estaban

    well all these demonstrations would not be necessary had argentina not invaded with the intention of ethnic cleansing, and then spent the next 30 years trying to bully the islanders into submission.

    and why would we pay you for anything? it is YOU who is living in land stolen by your ancestors from murdered aboriginals. hell you still owe the islanders a groveling apology for trying and failing to ethnically cleanse them.

    and as for very strong? the UN recently ruled that ALL people in ALL territories had the INALIENABLE right to self determination, despite several years of Argentine begging, shrieking for pity, and whining. you are the definition of powerless.

    That British clown says: “In line with the Islanders' wishes, British forces provide a visible demonstration of UK sovereignty over the Islands”

    British forces provide a visible demonstration of UK colonialism over the Argentinean Islands, 14000km away from Britain, in the 21st century.

    MoreCrap - they are not a colony. They are a Non-Self Governing Territory - the United Nations says so!

    The United Nations also say that ALL peoples of Non-Self Governing Territories have the right to determine their own future.

    And they are :-)

    Get used to it!

    My experience of the average Argentine is they don't give a monkey's ass about the Falkland Islands. In my time spent in Argentine 99% of the Argentines who expressed an opinion on the Falklands War were of the view that your government used it as a distraction, sending only the raw conscripts recruited from the problem areas to go over there and die. If not at the hands of the British, then their own officers!

    Your government has an unparalleled reputation worldwide for being a proxy government of US corporate power.

    Kiwisarg I've told you before, if you are so patriotic go back to Argentina. We don't want assholes like you in New Zealand. Go home before we kick you the **** out!

    @21

    I will and thank you again.

    @20

    I remembered when the people were shouting “ Malvinas SI, Proceso NO” (yes for Malvinas and No for the Military Government”) . At one point the Top Brass asked Gral Galtieri to pull out the troops and he responded “ If we do that, people will kill us ” Another point that i would like to make is that The Officers involved in the conflict of 82 HAVE NOTHING to do the Reorganization Process also know as PRN. Since President Alfonsin we had a De Malvinization of events, veterans had to hide, they were untreated for post combat stress disorder, we are all cowards , nobody fought, etc, etc . Let's keep the memories to those who fought and died for the country. Just my fucking humble opinion !! :-)

    @20 Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! That's what the average Argie thinks is it? That Britain sent the raw conscripts of 3 Commando Brigade Royal Marines and 5th Infantry Brigade. I assume they aren't counting those Fleet Air Arm and RAF pilots that shot their aircraft down as raw conscripts. Or the crew of HMS Conqueror. What did they do now? So these raw conscripts forced an Argentine surrender on South Georgia in five days. And then went on to force a complete Argentine surrender on the Falkland Islands in 24 days.

    Perhaps, if there has to be a next time, we could send the trained and experienced troops. How about if we start with the 1st Armoured Division and 3rd Mechanised Division landing near Las Pipinas and heading for Buenos Aires. Possibly with some Army Air Corps Apaches flying ahead and on the flanks. I'm sure the Royal Navy would like to fire off some of its cruise missiles. And I expect the RAF would be quite upset unless we let them send some of their Typhoons for target practice. Be interesting to see how the Argie Air Force would get on against combat aircraft twice as fast as those they met in 1982.

    @ 19 las argoyas o argollas are delicious, specially if they're hairy

    @ 20 yes, that's right, but everytime you turn on your tv or google some words, there she is, Cristina talking about the islands, there is publicity about the islands all the time, and since believing otherwise makes you look like a traitor, when you talk to someone who is a malvinist you must say that the islands belong to Argentina to avoid being screwed and humilliated in front of the people for saying that the islands belong to the falklanders.

    23 Conqueror

    No! That is what the Argentines correctly felt about the type of recruit sent to fight and die for Argentina in the Falklands and the way they were treated when they returned.

    22 Artillero601

    Those who serve their country and put their lives on the line deserve respect, whether they are British, Argentine or any other nationality.

    But people who sit on their couches and shout, or prance around in the street waving flags for illegal wars that other people have to fight or die in, deserve no respect. In 1982 your government broken international law by invading the territory of another country, this is documented in the UN's response ton the invasion. it is why virtually the entire international community was against Argentina.

    Your country continues to attack the Falkland Islands with trade blockades, propaganda and constant tension. If this was a neighboring country doing this to Argentina you would be right to feel aggrieved.

    The fact is you nationalist zealots have no respect, no dignity and absolutely no capacity for empathy, or caring for anyone other than your own type. That's what makes you nationalist zealots. And that's what makes you so dangerous to the rest of the world.

    Argentina has plenty of land why do you care about the Falklands? France owns St. Pierre and Miquellon, just offshore from Canada, and do you hear us whining about it? No, you don't, because we have plenty of territory and they don't matter. Argentina, no one cares about this issue but you.

    Perhaps its because England invaded Argentina's mainland 200 years ago,
    In which England Army miserably failed twice in its futile attempt to conquer Argentina, Argentine's don't want any british colony near their oceans period!
