Except that Argentina only complies with those parts of international law that it finds useful. It is, after all, hard to understand how a country that has signed and ratified the UN Charter can so easily ignore Article 74 as though it doesn't exist. That's what Argentina does every single day. Thereby making it obvious that Argentina's primary characteristics are lying, cheating, stealing as well as doing and saying anything to justify its lies, its cheating and its thefts.
Our government is sick! They don't make “poorly researched comments”, they spread lies, whether those lies are about our neighboring countries or the Argentine people themselves. Our problem is nationalism, while we have a core of nationalist followers to the fascism bedded in the politics that drive our national government, they will continually drive us down in the eyes of the world and in the eyes of our neighbors.
Oct 15th, 2011 - 11:52 am - Link - Report abuse 011@ I have been in Rio Gallegos last week end sharing with a lot of friends of mine there and I just can say, as always, that in the Patagonia the ordinary Argentine people is good and very friendly people, very similar to the Chilean ordinary people. they tray to live a quiet and safe life, growing their families up the best they can, working hard in hard climate region far from the egocentric capital city that waste the most of the budget produced by the remaining Provinces.

Yet 4 people out of 3,000 = 0.0013333% of the Falklander Population
That's four orders of magnitude greater participation, per head of population, by the Falkland Islands than that of Argentina.
In other words, we need another 1096 Argentines to start regularly posting on MercoPress to equal the level of participation from the Falkland Islands.

Today was mild and sunny in the morning, but it clouded over by 12.00 and around 1.30pm we had a few flakes of snow and hail.
Rest of afternoon was overcast and pretty cool.
Today the Lan flight arrived as usual - there was a large Red Lorry and a white van there to collect the approx 4 ton of freight that arrived, as well as other transport to collect the passengers.
Do you want me to name say the Customs and Immigration officials who were there and the time they left?
What other proof of my identity as a born Islander would you like - clothead.

Islanders, why do you care what some ignorant diplomat says in Mexico, of all places? No one else pays attention to them, notice how you never hear them talking like this outside South America? That's because the rest of the world considers this a non issue, and Argentina isn't important, powerful, or respected enough to make it one. In the global economy, money talks, and they are a “developing” economythat doesn't produce anything you can't buy somewhere else, under the control of a political party that is beyond a joke and does nothing for it's people. When was the last time you bought something that had “Made in Argentina” stamped on it?

Buenos Aires has a huge gay population. It is estimated that 1/3rd of all tourists that visit the capital are gay - probably because many refer to it as the gay capital of South America. There are many gay clubs and a tolerant attitude - certainly amongst the people I meet - so people can be openly gay there whereas it would not be acceptable in many other South American countries.
