HMS Illustrious helicopter carrier begins intensive training following major refit

Fresh from a £40m refit the Royal Navy helicopter carrier HMS Illustrious has begun two months of intensive training off the south coast of Britain. Once the training is completed, the Portsmouth-based warship will be the UK’s on-call helicopter carrier, ready for global missions. Read full article

    she and ocean will plug the gap until Elizabeth arrives,

    She's being used while Ocean is in refit i believe. I hope they keep both hali carriers but it looks like they'll decomission lusty once Ocean is ready. Can carry Apaches.

    i very much hope they keep both, perhaps things willchange,
    im surprised they have not gone all out to finish the Elizabeth,
    i hear she has 3 blocks attatched,
    but ive not seen the latest pictures .
