Xbox - the UK is f*****? Care to show me how you have come to this conclusion as this Monday morning feels jut like any other. I see this summit has done nothing of any significance to support Argentina.

We already have a peaceful solution, Argentina leaves the Falkland Islanders to get on with their own lives.

    “Nations from the Ibero-American bloc . . . . ”

Does the world know that this new 'bloc' exists?
Does it have a remit to trade as a bloc?
Is it politically coherent, like a political bloc?
Does this mark the withdrawal of Spain, Portugal and Andorra from the bloc known as The European Union?
Where is the USA and Canada? If not, why not?

”The (Ibero-American Summit) was not particularly successful -
eleven heads of government and state did not show up,
none of the leaders of Mercosur full members (Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay) attended.”

    [Full Members:
Andorra, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Portugal, Peru, Spain, Uruguay, Venezuela.
    Associate members:
Equatorial Guinea, The Philippines, Puerto Rico.
    Future members:
    Belize & East Timor.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ibero-American_Summit#Member_States]

This was only around a 50% failure to attend so it was not too bad,
and its spectacular success totally overshadowed the Unasur summit that was taking place concurrently in a side room.

If the Argentines themselves couldn't be bothered to turn up then it says a lot for the prominence and importance of this organisation and this proclamation.

Another pointless statement from yet another pointless organisation. Just look at some of the members. Argentina - on its way down the tubes. Cuba - down the tubes. Portugal - down the tubes. Spain - on its way down the tubes. Venezuela - on its way down the tubes.

What can teach us countries as Spain and Portugal if they also have colonies in the Atlantic Ocean too far from their capitals ? Remember Melilla, Ceuta & Canary Is. and Madeira Is. nearer to African countries that they can belong to them instead those European countries.
Waht´s doing UNASUR or the Ibero - American Meeting about tha French Guyana that is a Department of France instead a self governed overseas territory ? Nothing at all, just disturb F.I. under the Argentine pressure....
It smells as double standard at least, don´t you think ?
Why those organizations don´t waste their time and money in the most important things for the American population, like economy, health, education, inmigration, enviroment and others inside each country and don´t bother others that quietly and peacefully are developing their own capabilities and resources to face the new world´s situation.

ah, yes, the proximity argument again. So, why doesn't Hugo Chavez claim Curacao then, that's only 30km off the Venezuelan coast?

All these articles on the Falklands are linked to one end- pressurise for negotiations. Take the toe-in-the-waters one and reactions to it, about possible appointment of an Argentine Ambassador to London.
Such a move might have merits for Argentina's continued publicising on the Falklands: someone placed in London, with the accompanying blare of trumpets, so far as the present government there may opine, puts Argentina on the “world stage” at a time that the EU is in dire straits; and weakened; and China, a willing or reluctant friend of Argentina, is a major investor, and now has real influence in all economic spheres. There may be a possibility of getting UK national press coverage, eventually, about the Falklands.
Some people take the long term view on these things.Everything will be tried; any approachable thread that is perceived in the UK sovereignty position. The mere acceptance of Talks undertaken about the Falklands would begin a precedent, even if these failed totally. The issue is much larger than at first appears: it encompasses the whole South Atlantic region, as well as the Antarctic. In the centre is the fate of the most important issue: the Falklands people and their long-established way of life.It is ths that is easily overlooked in the discussions on resources and historical and geographiocal claims.

a very discerning post Room.It sums up the way things are moving over a long period of time. The planters are naturally wedded to English control but as London pays London decides. When London reaches the stage of free movement of peoples they may obtain some significance

@ 15 don't be ridiculous, in Islam green represents different things, like black, white, red, there is nothing like “the traditional colour of Islam” in different moments and times you'll wear one colour or the other.

The buses, therefore, choose to wear green in this context of your quoted moment- and-time. I think that to be deliberately colourblind would be ridiculous.

Argentine's around the world demand UN and NATO to take action against the occupation of Islas Malvinas Argentina or to allow for a nuclear defence program to be build in Argentina to protect the main land from any farther occupation and theft of land in Argentina. plain and simple.
