Ibero-American summit calls for dialogue on Falklands/Malvinas Islands’ sovereignty
Nations from the Ibero-American bloc reaffirmed the need for the resumption of Falklands/Malvinas sovereignty negotiations and called on the UK to avoid carrying out “one-sided” actions, such as exploiting resources and military action. Read full article

Does it have a remit to trade as a bloc?
Is it politically coherent, like a political bloc?
Does this mark the withdrawal of Spain, Portugal and Andorra from the bloc known as The European Union?
Where is the USA and Canada? If not, why not?

This was only around a 50% failure to attend so it was not too bad,
and its spectacular success totally overshadowed the Unasur summit that was taking place concurrently in a side room.
If the Argentines themselves couldn't be bothered to turn up then it says a lot for the prominence and importance of this organisation and this proclamation.

Cuba - down the tubes. Portugal - down the tubes. Spain - on its way down the tubes. Venezuela - on its way down the tubes.

Remember Melilla, Ceuta & Canary Is. and Madeira Is. nearer to African countries that they can belong to them instead those European countries.

It smells as double standard at least, don´t you think ?
Why those organizations don´t waste their time and money in the most important things for the American population, like economy, health, education, inmigration, enviroment and others inside each country and don´t bother others that quietly and peacefully are developing their own capabilities and resources to face the new world´s situation.
ah, yes, the proximity argument again. So, why doesn't Hugo Chavez claim Curacao then, that's only 30km off the Venezuelan coast?

There may be a possibility of getting UK national press coverage, eventually, about the Falklands.
Some people take the long term view on these things.Everything will be tried; any approachable thread that is perceived in the UK sovereignty position. The mere acceptance of Talks undertaken about the Falklands would begin a precedent, even if these failed totally. The issue is much larger than at first appears: it encompasses the whole South Atlantic region, as well as the Antarctic. In the centre is the fate of the most important issue: the Falklands people and their long-established way of life.It is ths that is easily overlooked in the discussions on resources and historical and geographiocal claims.

Argentine's around the world demand UN and NATO to take action against the occupation of Islas Malvinas Argentina or to allow for a nuclear defence program to be build in Argentina to protect the main land from any farther occupation and theft of land in Argentina. plain and simple.
