RNZAF quite a number of long range patrol and transport aircraft, as well as trainers and helecopters. The one thing they don't have is fighter aircraft, which isn't entirely surprising as their nearest neighbour (who is also one of their closest allies) is about 1000 miles away.
The Russians are having a lot of things going wrong in a short space of time: the trawler in the Irish Sea, this one off Antarctica and now they've lost an oil rig that they were towing round the North Pacific along with 55 of the 67 crew (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-16235095).
If there's any Russians reading this, you have my condolences, any loss of life is regrettable especially at this time of year.
I just wonder what the Malvinists would be writing here if it was the Oil Rig on its way to the Falkland Islands; I'm sure it would be childish and stupid.
