She's a hot young female with socialist credentials - no surprise at The Guardian's pick, and no surprise if she was made president at the Socialist International. On a more serious note, The Guardian just seems to be repeating the (American) Time's decision to choose as person of the year The Protestor - the difference being only that the Guardian chose to give the Protestor a name.

Is it a communist conspiracy????? No,it's recognition of the fact that global capitalism is becoming more remote from the people. It's the peaks and troughs of capitalism and it's ability to carrot and stick the people. Most people think it's fate and nothing can be done. But there is.

As a University student she wants a free education. That is the essnce of Socialism. Everyone wants a free lunch. I say that the Guardian is a reliable joke. The world they pine for collapsed when the USSR when under.

I don't think their world has collapsed. They are a capitalist entity and not an institution which has an obligation to
follow a particular ideology.Corporate law says they are a business which must respect it's shareholders among others. No need to be alarmist about what a capitalist newspaper says,it's first responsibility is to sell papers and earn money.

Ah, she is so pretty that she'll probably convert many men, young and old, to “Communazism!”

Well, the gold ring through her nose is really attractive, NOT.

It's all you can say of someone picked by the Grundian :o)

Clue to the Argies: the Guardian is so poorly sub-edited that it actually mis-spelt its' own name as Grundian on the banner, so you lot should feel at home.

“the gold ring through her nose is really attractive”

“Gold” ring through her nose makes her more attractive, and been proven she's nightmare for pinera the corporatist, I mean neo-liberal..(just another fancy word for socialist on steriods).

Uhmm, left vs right, difficult choice.
