Disclaimer & comment rulesThe all the profits from the fishing industry will flow to the Falklands, and none to South America !
Dec 28th, 2011 - 03:52 am - Link - Report abuse +1All the the profits obtained by UK from the Malvinas Islands are stolen. UK began stealing the territories and the sea, after that, continued stealing the fish and the oil. Despite the profits obtained from the stolen lands (not only the Malvinas Islands), UK's economy continues stagnant and loosing positions in the PBI ranking. In the other hand, the economy of all South America countries continues growing without stealing any territories.

Dec 28th, 2011 - 04:36 am - Link - Report abuse +1The Falkland Islands Government has control over its own resources, fully protected by the UN Charter and Resolutions.
As for South America - it was all stolen! Ask the original inhabitants, assuming that you left any alive :-)
The Malvinists are not having a party.

2. John Farrel......The UK doesn't take any profits from resources exploited in the South Atlantic, the Falkland islanders do......Idiot.

Dec 28th, 2011 - 12:58 pm - Link - Report abuse +1Hope you enjoy sitting on your arse doing nothing while the FI continue to remain British and the Islanders get on with their lives.
@9 We´re happy with the islanders getting on with their lives. We only want them to get on with their lives accepting thier countries authorities and not one imposed by a foreign power.
Dec 28th, 2011 - 01:52 pm - Link - Report abuse -1@10: That is exactly what they are doing at the moment. The only foreign power try to impose its authority is Argentina.

It will save all the English about £2,000 for every man, woman and child in subsidising your delusions of self-rule each year.
You have to get Salmon-face to find the balls to call a referendum first though: and then you have to win it.
I personally do not thing there are enough stupid Scotts who will vote for it. Bit like turkeys voting for Christmas.
The Falklands Keep on striving forward!!

@16 geo,
There's plenty of oil, geo. Why do you think Madame Rubberface has got her knickers in a twist?
@8 Ogara,
We will be enjoying them long after Argentina has imploded.♥
@12.
Dec 28th, 2011 - 10:55 pm - Link - Report abuse +1Argentina can impose whatever it likes in Argentinian territory. But, of course, the Falkland Islands are not Argentinian territory (you don't see the Argentinian flag flying over Government House, do you?). If Argentina wants them to be, then they they should put a good case together and submit it to the ICJ. Argenitina doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of ever winning that case, but it's the best chance it's got. Personally, I think that Argentina just needs to get rid of the massive chip on its shoulder and deal with its huge inferiority complex some other way.
@16 geo

Dec 29th, 2011 - 02:13 am - Link - Report abuse +1The Islanders' have the right to exploit their own resources. And Argentina voted for the Resolution allowing them to do that!
The owner of the resources is Argentina. UK must return now the Islands to Argentina, because they were stolen with a military force as a lot of other territories stolen by UK around the world!!!!!!!

We said it before, and say it again,
The more the British are forced to do, the less south America has to complain about, when the business and the jobs and the profit passes them by,
For when all the new industry is built, they are not going to tear it down just to go back to you lot,
Once its gone, its gone forever,

By June 2012 China will be in economic freefall. Europe will have already crashed and burned and most of the banks will have gone with it so the only thing left amongst the ashes that people will still find the money for is OIL and they will be prepared to kill for it.

I think Navy Point is the preferred site.A new road with hotels for Brazilian tourists would be good for development.
Dec 29th, 2011 - 10:29 am - Link - Report abuse 0What do you think Xbarilox.
Isolde, just to clarify I am Scottish, but part Irish, as my surname suggests Scots and Irish Gaelic are pretty much identical because Scotland is primarily the product of Irish colonisation pushing out the indigenous Britonic speakers.....Of course if Lady Gaga was truly Irish it would realise this.
Dec 29th, 2011 - 10:30 am - Link - Report abuse 0Alas dental floss seems to have forgotten that Europe has crashed several times in its history and is still there, now is no different and I don't see what the reasoning behind China is? Dental Floss likes to make predictions but he is no Nostra Damus....
One indicator he should take note of is the fact Argentina has successfully wiped out its budget surplus in under a year, if Europe collapses hint hint ;)
A deep water port would make the Falklands even more self sufficient.
Dec 29th, 2011 - 11:03 am - Link - Report abuse +1Go for it!
@12 You have a little problem, sonny. Argentina is welcome to impose its authority on any Argentine territory. The problem is that the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands aren't Argentine territory. They are places that belong to Britain and the Falklands. That is the case in 2011. It will be the case in 2012. It will still be the same in 3012. It is something that you need to get used to. Because if you and your compatriots don't get used to it, it is doubtful whether you and they will see 2050. Get the picture?
Dec 29th, 2011 - 01:19 pm - Link - Report abuse +1@16 That's OK then, isn't it? Britain can't be stealing something that isn't there, can it? So you have no cause for complaint, do you?
@23, 24 & 26 We don't have anything that was ever yours. Did you notice that Britain was there before your cess-pit was even thought of? And piracy? The historical record is that Vernet and 6 of his cohorts were arrested for piracy. The same records show that one David Jewett was also a pirate. Aren't you proud of the people who have lied before you? Have you taken your medication and seen your psychiatrist? You need to learn to distinguish between fantasy and reality. Incidentally, is johnfarrel2050 a reference to when your doctor thinks you will attain a mental age of 10?
@28 Can you do anything except talk about yourself?
@33 I think Navy Point is the preferred site.A new road with hotels for Brazilian tourists would be good for development. The preferred sites for tourist hotels for South Americans are Argentine minefields. Will you be visiting to help in manually digging the foundations? It's a very healthy vacation. You can leave your arms, legs and lungs to soak up the fresh air all year round. Indeed, you can be a real part of the Falkland Islands. As fertiliser.
@36 The problem is that the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands aren't Argentine territory. Yes it is... you ostrich.
Dec 29th, 2011 - 01:37 pm - Link - Report abuse -1And I´m getting the picture... it´s the same picture the UK has always painted around the world in its entire history.
So Islas - state clearly the basis of your claim to South Georgia ??
Dec 29th, 2011 - 01:50 pm - Link - Report abuse +1Papal bull of 1492 and subsiquent treaty of Tordisilla, the former claimed by Argentina (observeratorio parlimentario-cueston malvinas) to be “the international law of the time”. Wonder how the native population feel about that.
Dec 29th, 2011 - 03:01 pm - Link - Report abuse +1The treaty of tordisilla would have given Spain the Falklands (if it applied of course) but South Georgia & South Sandwich Islands way inside Portuguese territory. Guess some one didn't look at the map properly.
@37
Dec 29th, 2011 - 03:03 pm - Link - Report abuse +1As Lord ton said, state what your claim is to south sandwitch and georgia islands, though consider the fact they are not on the south american plate, they are on the scotia plate which is made up of the sandwitch plate to the far eastern end of the scotia plate. So your contential shelf argument fails completely on them as they are not part of the same continent as Argentina.

Dec 29th, 2011 - 09:51 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Maybe the Mayan prophecy is right after all.....
//////////////
If only you knew, then you would be very very scared, would you not,
Your prophecy on top of their prophecy .
You do understand ,don’t you, that when this prophecy was made,
[just like the Greeks and Romans] who thought the ended at not far past Gibraltar, and flat,
The MAYAN people also thought their was no other land, except the land they were on,
That land was south America, so by all standards they were predicting , not the end of the world, but the defeat of the then known world, [south America] including Argentina,
So as you are a disciple of this theory , then it predicts the end of [Argentina in 2012] does it not.
So yes you need to be worried, you guys may well be seeing the last months of an indoctrinated society called Argentina, [and the rest]
So if the prophecy comes true, then perhaps when Argentina hits the floor, and takes the rest of south America indocronoughts with her, it will thus come to be,
Unless of course im just talking bollxx, as I wasn’t their I don’t know
[DO YOU KNOW]
Just a historical thought
[happy 2012 ] if you are still around
@34Rhaurie,
Dec 29th, 2011 - 10:25 pm - Link - Report abuse 0l found an extremely interesting site on the net the other night that might interest you, about the Picts.
As yet, no one can agree as to who they were or what language they spoke.
Some say they spoke a Celtic tongue related to Welsh
Some say that their language was lberian from Spain &
Some say that it was related to Basque.
But the one that facinated me was a claim that their language was a mixture of a stone age, pre-european language & Finnish!(of all languages!).
Forgot who was making this claim, but apparently many place names, rivers, mountains etc & some local Scots words around Perth, were Finnish.
l will have to find that site again. ln one way it seems likely. The Finns are fearless fighters & the Picts had that reputation also.
lnteresting, no?♥
A bit like the britons,

I have a solution, let the british illegal aliens go back home without using them as ponds in a game they have no control of, Islas Malvinas Argentinas is a great place, british pirats should go home as all illegal aliens are forced toi do, unless we have another set of laws for Southamerica and Africa, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
Jan 03rd, 2012 - 09:22 am - Link - Report abuse -1The argentinians should stop sabre rattling and get on with sorting out there economy.
Jan 03rd, 2012 - 07:17 pm - Link - Report abuse +1They should send all there jobless people to the Falklands and clean up all the Mines that were laid by the Invading force !
Kercher and Argentina are missing a great oppertunity here , Ship all the Oil to Argentina and take a percentage of the sales . Therefore increasing there income and providing jobs for Argentinians or even veterans.
All the South Americans who descend from Spain and Portugal go back home and then leave the true South Americans there, all be it 100 jungle spear throwers.
If you are really concerned about Invaders then concentrate on China in Tibet and all the people they have murdered and imprisoned.
Or North Korea who malnourish poeple and leave starving.
Burma say no more.
Iran also hell bent on killing people and blowing Israel off the map.
Falklands just a small outcrop with Fish and Oil ready available .
Get off our case Argy's !!!!!!!
Oilman What are talking about with China and Tibet.The part about oil revenues sounds interesting.You think like a true colonial mind that money answers the question.How much do want for Gibraltar.I'm sure if you make it high enough right now, Spain will not be able to pay it and the UK will look like they are the good guys.
