United States sent a strong message to Latin American countries preparing to host Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad saying Washington’s policy regarding the Teheran regime is “very well known”. Read full article
Most western powers have fostered ties with despots. I don't hear as much as word of complaint from the press when King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia or Hu Jintao of China tours the world. Ahmadinejad's problem isn't so much the nature of the regime he heads as it is the huge propaganda machine working against his country in much of the world.
Yeah well, thats probably because they are stable regimes that are not threatening peace, or threatening to wipe other countries (Such as Israel) off the face of the earth, or indeed threatening to block the sea route that a third of the worlds oil supplie is shipped through.
As for propaganda machine, well he brings it on himself with his threats, if he complied with UN inspections in full and was 100% open about his countries Nuclear Research activities, then there would be no sanctions on his country as the western nations would have no course of concern that would result in such sanctions in the first place.
His supposed threat against Israel has been widely contested on the grounds that that wasn't really what he said - that those words came from a flawed translation that is now abused for propaganda purposes. Iran doesn't have the power to terminate Israel - any country in the world that tried to do that would be facing national suicide on account of Israel's vast dissuasive arsenal. As for Iran's nuclear program (I'm sure you thought about it when writing your previous message), you should know that, even according to many prominent Jewish and Israeli figures - e.g., Jewish American sociologist Immanuel Wallerstein, Israeli military scholar Martin van Creveld and Israel's Defence Minister Ehud Barak - the program isn't aimed at Israel, but at building a dissuasive arsenal against Iran's many nuclear neighbors - Russia, Pakistan, India and the US, which has stationed bases around the Persion Gulf. Though Iran is an international pariah, its diplomatic body is an intelligent one - it is not a rogue state with a fundamentalist outlook mindlessly violating international. Iran is a pragmatic state doing what's necessary for the sake of its own long-term security needs.
This is when I have a problem. Supporting tyrants for the sake of keeping American interest safe and peace for the region .... and the people what? I thought we were in favor of Democracy , freedom , bla, bla. I find it a little hypocritical . Just a thought
Iran is still a Muslimist terror state with its support for Hamas.
It never comes out on its own, preferring instead to use terror groups to do its bidding.
I hope the Clerics and their cronies who run the country are wiped out in the forthcoming action (because Iran will make a mistake in its handling of this) and leave the people of Iran open to a new start.
History will repeat itself because dictators and other brain washed countries
Like argieland just never learn,
to them it is but a game, just like gaddafi, they think they can win it right up to the very end breath of life,
And the only people who suffer these deluded fools are the innocent,
