does she have a claim on you,??

Briton, unfortunately we are used to this kind of behaviour from argentine governments, so no surprise there from over the Andes. I just wonder about naivety of our politicians, they really thought that their current step towards Argentina would improve the relations with the neighbour, but Argentina does not even doubt a day to show her “gratitude”, slapping our face with this imposed barrier.
I am especially dissapointed about the current conservative government we have, as I thought they would apply a more logic and consequent policy, but they are really stumbling from disaster to disaster. Never thought I'd say this, but the Concertacion was more consequent and loyal to our national policies. I guess, LAN still did not get back their right to fly Aeroparque, so this whole deal was a fraud. I feel ashamed for my representatives and their limited diginity.

The “Malvinas” cause is not ours, as we do not urge Argentina to stop flights to Lima (Peru), just because we have a territorial dispute with them (Imagine the laughter it would cause).
I simply cannot understand stupidity of our leaders...

PS: We are not afraid of the claims Argentina might have on us, but rather afraid of our politicians granting them what they ask for!

#2 bring some whine from Chile in your next trip to Canada and tell us how much whine you can get into the country without paying 100% tax, compare that to Argentina's restrictions and you will all see how lucky we are that Argentina doesn't yet charge as much tax on goods as Canada and Chile pay the tax no problem since the liquor store shelves are always jamed packed with Chilean whine, I think the real object of this article is to divide public opinion in SouthAmerica and possibly to pin LatinAmericans against eachother, it worked in the Middle East, divide and conquer is being around longer then the fights started by the strategy, Libya still dealing with british terrorists.

Seems that CFK wants to start a commercial war with Chile ( we buy more than we sell to them ) so the solution is very easy: rise taxes to argentinian imports and rise landing fees for Aerolineas and that´s it.
Strange thing when is gathering suport for her cause.

Seriously, I feel so sorry for Argenina. Can anyone explain why this potentially great nation keeps sticking itself with the absolute bog-grade political leadership? I've been asking this for about 65 years now and I still can't explaing it to (even) myself. This Cristina is simply a poisonous and untrustworthy dolt.

It is a great nation: in arts, sport, film making, literature, television production, music, natural landscapes, various cultures, immigrant cultures, native cultures, languages spoken, etc.

Problem is that this website is populated by genuine Philistines: their sole touchtone to measure a country's worth is their bank account, they do not care about anything else in life. And btw, even under such a superficial measure, Argentina is in the to 15-20% of the nations of the world in wealth, believe or not.

Most people in their personal lives would be satisfied being in the upper 1/5 of wealth.

So for all the berating, deriding, insulting, or fake concern, in the big scheme of things we call Planet Earth, it is not that bad of a place. And certainly when it comes to society (family, friends), it is a far better place than Europe or North America can ever dream of being (mass shootings, rampant racism, sky-high suicide rates).

Eorope and N. America have no arts, sports, film-making, literature, television production, music, natural landscapes, various cultures, immigrant cultures, native cultures, languages spoken? Really, Tobias. Yet, Argentina has all that and Eorope and N. Amercia doesn't?

Followed by, if may observe, a rather sweepingly broad generalisation regarding the readers and users of this web site. Really? All Philistines? All only interested in their money in their bank account? And, then magically Argentina is also in the 'top' 15-20% of nations in the world by wealth. Just as well the cut-off wasn't the top 10%, ins't it? Most people in Europe and N. Amercica ARE in the top 10%, believe it or not.

So for all the berating, deriding, insulting, or fake concern put forth by Argentians, in the big scheme of things we call Planet Earth, Europe and N. America are not that bad of a place. And certainly when it comes to society (family, friends), it is a far better place than Argentina will ever dream of being (mass shootings, disappearances, despots, riots, financial disasters, killing-off of the native population and the stealing of their lands, rampant racism, sky-high suicide rates, threatening their neighbours like Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay and the good British peoples of the Falklands Islands).

Yes, Argentina. A wonderful place led by such fine politicians, admirals and generals and a military that will fight to the last evacuation plane or boat.

The only major problem with Argentina is that Chile hasn't yet taken it over.

There are no mass shootings in Argentina. Never have been any.
The suicide rate is much lower than in the north, slightly higher than Latin America as a whole.
The North Americans also exterminated their indians.
Riots happen all the time in Europe, and until the 1990s were a daily occurrence in the USA (mass shootings took over then I guess).

Yes, Europe and North America are in the top 10%, and have all those attributes that you mentioned. So if Argentina has all those things and is in the top 15%, then I would submit to you that the propaganda spewed here about Argentina is at the very least, arguably exagerated.

Who would deny Argentina does not have serious issues to confront, but then again, are you all in the north without much to do because everything is copacetic?!

You are not an unbiased source on the country, nor is anyone here on this website. You obviously hate the country, so how objective can you be? Of course you will deny it, but it seethes through in your writing just as the hatred seethes through 95% of posters here.

Do you understand how foolish you sound, Tobias? Do you have any idea whatsoever where I reside? What is my citizenship? What countries I admire and which I do not (noth that that is if any real importance).

Please, Tobias, a bit less of the child-like accusations and propganda from you and we'll all be able to get along just fine.

Also, please look up the definition of satire while you're at it.

    10. Argentina may or may not have had mass shootings but what they do have at least 2-3x month is vigilantism. A group of neighbors is very often burning a house down of someone they think committed a crime, mob beating them our outright killing them.
Argentina has the most psychologists per capita than any other in N or S America country..and it's not because people are happy and sane.
    Argentina exterminated their Indians too
Riots/Protest are just about daily in Argentina, streets are ALWAYS blocked somewhere, tires burning in the roads, people laying a cross the streets, attacking some sort of gov't building or foreign bank, blocking the eze airport access. IT”S EVERY DAY!!
People protest because of INSECURITY there...commando assaults on people's houses, express kidnappings, VIOLENT muggings, every single one of my RG friends has been mugged at least 1x. Security is a huge problem but the root of it is the corruption. I was told you NEVER let someone from the gov't or the Police on your property if you have a problem solve it yourself.

Yankeeboy, imagine every local newscast in the USA reporting on all the crimes of the whole country in their 1 hour news time. What impression would you get about the state of crime in your country.

Well that is what happens in Argentina. Crimes in BA are reported in Mendoza. Mendoza crimes are reported in BA, crimes in big towns, little towns, whatever.

I will agree completely on the blocking streets, that is the fault of a government tha is way too permissive.... so how can they be fascists? But the street blockings are mainly a Buenos Aires thing and occassionaly Rosario (coincidently where the most illegal immigrants have gone, remember Parque Indoamericano last year and how so few of the squatters asking for homes were not even Argentine, and had homes!), most of the rest of the country rarely sees that.
