I can't be the only one who thinks the Argentine government is a bunch of looneys and collectively needs some urgent psychiatic treatment. I just read a blog on La Nacion saying the next thing Tinman will be saying is that the Falklanders have developed their own atom bomb. More and more Argies are seeing through the garbage.

This is a big time scale idiot if I ever saw one!

How many times must Argentine authorities say that there will be no use of force? How many fu@#en times before it finally f@#ken sinks in?

The main problem here is that Argentina is a neo fascist pseudo democracy. Latin fascists do not have a good track record of success. Argentina's main population components are Italian and Spanish; neither of which proved very successful at fascism. Mussolini's African armies of hundreds of thousands of men were routinely defeated by British armies a tenth the size in the early years of WW2.
Spain was a basket case under Franco and only started to prosper when Franco died and Spain entered the EEC.
Argentina does not seem to realise what a laughing stock it is making of itself around the world. I just read an article in the Washington Post about the British submarine with nuclear weapons which Tinman is spouting on about and it was obvious the journalist could not believe what he was writing.
Britain has got a massive head start when it comes to spreading its views with English being the global language. Spanish may be important in Latin America but nowhere else.
Editor ;I think you should take a look at blog 2 here as Helga is starting to swear. My mother always used to say that when people swear it shows that they know they are losing the argument.
It is a shame about Argentina because it is supposed to have some of the worlds most beautiful women as well as some reasonable if crooked and prima-donna ish footballers.

How many times must Britain say that there is no escalation ? After all, one ship, replacing another ship is hardly an increase!

As for Argentina, you have a history of invasion - 1832 & 1982 - so we'll take what you say with a pinch of salt. How ever many times that you say it.

You really have to love these deluded Brits. On the one hand, they mock and ridicule Argentina's military and their capability of undertaking warfare in the 21st century. On the other, they feel the need to say, we will be ready if it happens or we will respond robustly. Which one will it be gentlemans?

That backdrop to these speculations and statements is the clear and unwavering remark by the Argentine Gov't that there will be no use of force.

Sometimes I wonder if the British would not in fact love for the use of force....

UK must return now to Argentina the Malvinas Islands stolen !!!! Of course, all the world knows that the Malvinas Islands belong to Argentina!!!!!UK only has the Islands because this country stole them using the military force but without any valid argument. The british pirates must return their war vessels to their country, and please stop bothering all the countries in South America. Nobody in South America believe the lies of the british. Everybody know that they are thief of territories in several continents. It´s very clear that UK has stolen a lot of territories around the world, the Malvinas Islands are only a little example of that. All the world (including the friend countries of UK, for example US), the United Nations, the OEA, among others are asking to the parties to begin the sovereign negotiations. But UK always denies to do it because this country considers that it is opposite to its interest. This country prefers to continue stealing resources of South America. All the world know that the self determination is big lie that can´t be apply in this discussion. However, don´t worry, all the military force that UK is showing is not enough to hide the truth, all the world knows that these Islands belong to Argentina and everybody knows that it will belong to Argentina for ever. The british pirates won´t be able to change this truth they don´t have any valid argument, only they have a military power to impose their interests.

Increasingly the UK is being shown for what it is: a stubborn, arrogant bully wishing to use might rather than right to resolve contentious issues.

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, expressed today his full support of the statements made by the President of the Republic of Argentina, Cristina Fernández, who upon vindicating the right of her country to the Malvinas Islands, warned that nobody should expect from her Nation “a response outside of politics and diplomacy.” Insulza highlighted that President Fernández “has made use of the only valid instrument to those who believe in peace and democracy: political dialogue; and in this way, she has the full support of all our region.

The head of the OAS highlighted the decision to repudiate “the militarization of the South Atlantic” expressed by President Fernández, who also asserted she will preserve “a region where peace predominates, where we have had conflicts that we have resolved without arms, among us South Americans.”

On the determination of the Mercosur countries to refuse ships with the Islands' flag, Insulza expressed his full agreement with this position and noted that “Great Britain should not try to force the entry into ports of Latin America and the Caribbean of a flag not recognized by the international community.”

The Secretary General of the hemispheric organization warned about the danger of sending war ships to the South Atlantic and emphasized the “nonsense in adding a bellicose tone to a conflict with a country that in the last years has expressed its desire for peace, and has not given any indications of wishing to change that a policy.” ”On the contrary, Argentina is among the last on the list of defense spending countries in

My thoughts on the matter are that Argies were planning some sort of silly civilian invasion (fishing boats with flags etc) or actually a rag tag naval invasion (a few fishing boats) and they dont like the fact that we have put one of our newest more capable ships in the area. And the nuclear powered sub will frighten the @hit out of them. Regards being peaceful you started all this bullying and trying to block of trade and links with the falklands hardly peaceful acts. But knowing the argentines grasp of history you have probably forgotton or censored this from your press already. Your timmerman is seen as a joke do you not think the UN has the intellectual power to check his facts, check history , you have no claim on the islands. Leave them alone adn concentrate on you 25% inflation, junk credit rating, and you can pay your IMF loans back you defaulted on and the cash back to US. Now jog on

Do some research and you will find Argentina does not have any nuclear weapons and if it did gain possession of any in the future it would be in violation of the treaty that makes latin american nations a nuclear free zone. Not to mention the fact that the UK would, if such event occured, respond by wiping the whole of argentina of the face of the planet.

Dear Teaboy2 you are a very naive boy Argentina has nuclear technology to centrifuge wasted fuel uranium since 1983. Also provided Iran with nuclear know how in the ‘80 what is the based of Iran nuclear program.
Also Argentina has space programs that can put a satellite out off space quite easily they are even more advanced than UK in that field. How long do you think Argentina can take to arm a nuclear device to reach London?

You have no idea about what Argies can do if they are cornered by a nuclear threat. Trust me you are not aware about how dangerous can be Argentina if you push too far. Only US intelligence knows that and for that reason they are cautious to don’t piss off the argies.

If I would be you I would be very concern about it and try to be very polite with the argies knowing then a little bit I can tell you that they can pass from very friendly to a quite bastard in hard times.

Now take your time and make a serious research please don’t use wiki its just for dummies if you know what I mean.

I have always criticized what was done in '82 by the military regime. And precisely for that reason, I have to be consistent and applaud this DEMOCRATIC regime which chooses to discard the use of force (although Britain seems to think otherwise).

I am glad to read that the OAS not only believes Argentina but supports its approach and also, more importantly, openly criticises the way Britain is militarizing a request to sit down a negotiate.

How stupid can a government be to think they can just complain in some UN body and get some islands ...including civilians... its too dumb for words, its not even worth the discussion.. its proof of pure colonialism... Argentina is a bad looser, as always, The english were there even before Argentina new the islands existed... and also, 1833 the Argentina independence...didn t even include the southern area of tierra del fuego... until aobut 50 years later;.... so what claim do they even have on a remote islands 600km form tierra del fuego....? Chiles tierra del fuego is as far as that from argentina in respect of distance to Falklands..so what is Argentina thinking??? falklands are just oil and fish treasuries for a bankrupt country that already has 50pc of southern amercian land area... its a stupid government with stupid rules and stupid visions not even worth the discussion.

Haha at poster 32 Danny Berger.

Argentina has never been a threat to the UK and isn't a threat today. If you think they can suddenly build ballistic nuclear weapons you truly have no idea what you are talking about. Quite frankly the UK has hundreds of years of proof it can meet an aggressor and win so why would the UK suddenly start fearing a country that has a broken economy and has proven not to have the capability to do the things you elude too?

Having a space program and building a power station is ABSOLUTELY nothing like having the capability to build a nuclear weapon that can successfully hit a country and if you think it is you really need to go and read up on the subject. You simply cannot invent the sort of capability without many years of research and huge amounts of funding, its also highly questionable if Argentina has the skills to do such a thing.

Wake up dude and stop living in fantasy land.

    @Helber Galarga

You can state a million times that you will not use force.

We hope you are right. No -one in the UK wants another war. As I have told you before we have enough on our plates dealing with other pressing national security issues - like Al-Qaeda and Somali pirates.

Now I will use big print to get the point over again to you for the nth time:

YOU HAVE ALREADY ATTACKED US BEFORE.

WE HAVE TO BE PREPARED FOR ALL POSSIBLE LINES OF ACTION YOUR GOVERNMENT MAY TAKE.

THAT INCLUDES THE (HOPEFULLY) REMOTE POSSIBILITY THAT YOU MAY TRY A MILITARY RESOLUTION.

ANYTHING LESS WOULD BE AN ABBROGATION OF OUR RESPONSIBILITY AS A NATION TO PROTECT OUR OWN PEOPLE.

WE SIMPLY CANNOT AFFORD TO JUST TAKE YOUR WORD FOR IT.

IF THE ISLANDS WERE GARRISONED TO THE SAME DEGREE AS THE INVASION IN 1982, YOU WOULD LIKELY TRY ANOTHER ATTACK, KNOWING THAT OUR CHANCES OF RETAKING THE ISLANDS WOULD BE LOW, BASED ON BRITISH DEFENCE CUTS.

THIS WOULD MAKE CFK A NATIONAL HERO, THE VAST MAJORITY OF YOUR POPULACE WOULD SUPPORT IT.

    THE FALKLANDERS WOULD EITHER:

    A) HAVE TO LEAVE THE ISLANDS.

    or

    B) LIVE UNDER ARGENTINE OCCUPATION, AGAINST THEIR WILL.

TO STOP THIS HAPPENING WE HAVE MAINTAINED A SMALL FORCE IN THE AREA - A FIGHTER FLIGHT, AN INFANTRY COMPANY, A SHORT RANGE RAPIER SAM BATTERY AN OFFSHORE PATROL VESSEL AND USULLY A FRIGATE OR DESTROYER. FROM TIME TO TIME A SUBMARINE WILL PATROL THE AREA TOO.

THIS FORCE CANNOT POSE THE ARGENTINE MAINLAND A SECURUTY THREAT, IT IS TOO SMALL. IT IS DESIGNED TO MAKE AN ATTACK ON THE ISLANDS DIFFICULT.

CONTRARY TO WHAT SOME OF THE RATHER MORONIC COMMENTS I HAVE SEEN HERE, WE HAVE NO INTEREST IN INVADING OR ATTACKING YOU. WE HAVE ABSOLULTELY NOTHING TO GAIN BY IT AND IT WOULD BE OPPOSED BY THE BRITISH PEOPLE, INCLUDING MYSELF.

WHAT WE DO TO DEFEND OURSELVES AGINST YOU IS NON OF YOUR BUSINESS.

@32 “Dear Teaboy2 you are a very naive boy Argentina has nuclear technology to centrifuge wasted fuel uranium since 1983. ”

Me Naive!!!! Lol Thats rich coming from some idiot that doesn't know the massive difference in technology and enrichment process between nuclear fuel rods for a nuclear power plant and production of nuclear warheads. For a start thay are two completely different things. Secondly you need ballistic missle technology, which themselves are completely different to space launch rockets and thats just to start with.

Iran did so well with the nuclear know how argentina gave them in the 80's that they still have not got a nuclear warhead or a ballistic missle capable of targetting another continent or in fact any country more than 1,000 miles away, hell they can not even reach Isreal yet, and thats taken them best part of 30 years to get to where they are now, using your argentine nuclear know how. not to mention the fact it was the russians that aided them in building their nuclear facilities and shared they know how, for nuclear energy, and they still haven't quite got that right yet. So argentine input was virtually nothing or completely useless, hence why they turned to the russians, though diplomatic talks where part of the reason too.

Your boasting about argentine nuclear technology as if its the best in the world when infact its barely out of its infantcy

As for US being scare of argentina. LMFAO i say LMFAO, thats the funniest thing i have heard anyone say on here in all the time i have been on here, and trust me, some of the idiotic comments on here take some bloody beating, but you just smashed all records for must idiotic comment of all time, with that statement. Argentina has no military, it has no ammunition to fight a war lasting more than 2 hours, its planes fall apart, it has no long range or ballistic missles and certain no Nuclear capability. USA can wipe argentina out in just 5 minutes if they wanted too. lol Idiot.

We cannot advance with just “dialogues”; since Argentine Independence from Spain we have had plenty of “dialogues” with the United Kingdom.

If the United Kingdom doesn’t want to “negotiate” the topic of sovereignty, I believe that Argentina cannot deal with the other themes.

Of course we are very interested in economic cooperation and communication, but for Argentina, without settling previously the question of sovereignty, these are just peripheral issues with only slight relevance to Argentina legitimate claim of sovereignty over the Malvinas Islands and the other South Atlantic islands that the U.K. still occupies.
    _____________

Now to the nomad war-loving Viking crowd:

Learn from your ancestor: Look very close to what's going on across the Channel, the Middle East, Southeast Asia; it will affect you because you are also there. Don't you have a home? Your home affairs needs attention and stay there; and

    2. Paraphrasing your own Winston Churchill, we Argentines shall never yield to your power; we shall never surrender our sovereignty to the Malvinas Island even if you insist on displaying in the South Atlantic your apparently overwhelming might.

Maintaining peace, so heavy in our memory and so costly, and negotiation are our immediate goals.

If you insist on militarizing the South Atlantic, you must expect reverses, even defeats. They will be sent to teach you wisdom and prudence, to call forth your energies to negotiate and prevent you from falling further into greater disasters.

This time this will not be Burger King: you will not get it your way!

    Respectfully,
    Your Argie friend.

It doesn’t matter how many times you say you will not use force, we simply do not believe you. The fact is only the British military deployments in the S Atlantic stop Argentina from overrunning all the British territories there and stealing the resources. Argentina’s colonial ambitions for the S. Atlantic/Antarctic are obvious for all to see.

What this shows is how little real support Argentina has even from its neighbours. Dominica and Antigua have declared they do not ban Falkland Island ships. Uruguay has sent a trade delegation to the Falklands, Chile has said it will not get drawn into the dispute any further. Brazil says nothing while considering its next move in its growing trade dispute with Argentina.

Hardly “the great leap forward” you were told. If this is Argentinian diplomatic success then I would hate to see what a failure looks like

You can say the same from Argentina’s point of view “UK has never been a threat to Argentina and isn’t a threat today and less without uncle Sam’s help”

You have not idea of what you are talking about and of course you have not enough information about Argentina and I guess you are not even British to start with.

Argentina has already built a ballistic missile and has the know how to build any kind of intercontinental missile if the y want. Argentina also is one of the few countries in the world that have managed to develop its own nuclear technology without the help of US. So is more advanced in that field than UK as all UKs nuclear programs including Uks limited Tridents capabilities are US Tech all made in USA. Do you understand what I mean?

On the other hand about if the argies are able to make a big crater in Richmond? just call NASA and ask how many argies engineers are working in their space programs. Argentina has nuclear research since 1950 and was the first nation in the world to build a fission reactor the same that we are trying to build in Europe now. So don’t be silly and start to educate your self before is too late for your safety.

About financial funding, you again are underestimating the muscle or Argentina. They don’t need to buy anything outside their country to build an intercontinental missile so they don’t require billions of dollars as UK to get them. They only need the political will or a good excuse as Cameron had gave to them to start to centrifuge even faster nuclear waste material from their reactors to turn into Plutonium. You really couldn't make it up with Danny, he claims to know history yet knows nothing of the subject he calls other ill-educated on.

You go on to say Argentina has developed a ballistic missile but you fail to mention that Condor which I'm guessing you are referring to was built predominately by European companies in conjunction with the Argentine government. Condor 2 was never even launched, a impressive program for sure lol and was widely known to be distinctly low tech and ineffective against western defenses.

As for Argentine nuclear power, that was obtained predominately through Germany/Canada even if R&D was carried out in Argentina, which is no different to the UK.

As for space programs, how many Argentines have been to space?

And your logic about funding is truly bizarre. It costs billions to successfully develop effective nuclear weapons and if you think you can do it for less than that you are truly barking crazy. Are you saying the technology required (which you do not have), the R&D doesn't cost anything?

Also please stop with the delusion about America somehow being scared of Argentina, America could turn up and wipe Argentina off the face of the earth in less than a week with conventional means or in minutes with the nuclear option. America is also the most politically and economically powerful country bar none. So saying America is somehow worried about Argentina is ridiculous in the extreme. The only people America worries about are China and Russia, no other country poses any credible threat and that also included the UK.

@ Dany you are clearly deluded.

One plutonian produced as a by product in a nuclear prower station is no where near capable of being used as a nuclear warhead material, your own aticle makes it clear it can be used in an A-bomb (fission reaction), thats an atomic bomb, nut a nuclear bomb, also known as H-Bomb (Fusion reaction) which is far more powerful. The plutonian produced by a nuclear power station is no where near the grade needed for a H-bomb and could only be used in an A-bomb which has very limited destruction range.

Also you then need to have the technology for delivery of the weapon and the warhead trigger itself, which is very very advance technology, hence why only a few countries have been able to do it. Also for your information the UK did develop its own nuclear bomb which was very successfull, i suggest you do some research on the UK's nuclear testing back int he 60/70's. It was only because our bomb was better than the americans that the americans preassured us in to accepting their nuclear technology.

Argentina has never developed or even had a ballistic missle, as pointed out by xect, the condur was develop in europe, but never tested. Same for your nuclear power technology largely coming from Germany and canada as Xect also correctly pointed out.

As for how many Argies work at nasa, not very many compared the how many brits and americans work at nase and have actually been to space.

As for finances, well for a start it would cost you billions in research alone, and yes you would have to buy and import parts, because you simply do not have the manufacturing and scientific or engineering infastucture to produce your own parts, hell you had to buy your submarines and navy ships from other countries same with all your military assets and weapons, and you expect us to believe you can build your own ballistic missle lol.

Argentina is nothing but an annoying blimp on both the UK and the USA's radar, nothing more. You are deluded beyond any help.

I am somewhat puzzled by your statement that UK is the first colonialist country in the world. Have you ever heard of Spain or Portugal? Did not these two countries colonise the bulk of S.America. If not, why are you not speaking English as your national language. Argentina was colonised by the Spanish in the 16th century. So, in effect, you are colonialists who seized the land from the indigenous population by a process of force and extermination. Whatever your views on the Falklands/Malvinas, Britain did not wipe out and seize the land from a native population.
As to the position of British forces on the Falklands, this is because we are not sure that your government can be trusted.
If your country stopped shouting about sovereignty and had a gentle approach as good neighbours then sometime in the future the Falklanders may consider some form of Argentinian input into control of the islands but everytime they hear the cry of the Malvinas are ours and we want them now, that date disappears well into the future - or possibly never.
Also, could you supply me with a list of colonies that Britain still has. I am not aware of any that we are holding on to by force or against the wishes of the local populations.

    @Teaboy2

1-You don’t know nothing about it, Plutonium is getting from raw uranium by the process of enrichment.
Wasted fuel is grade enriched by irradiation and by reprocessing in a centrifuge plant with gas you get Weapons-Grade Plutonium. Is what Iran is trying to do, why do you thing US want to keep an eye over wasted fuel from nuclear power plants?

“Spent fuel can be reprocessed to make plutonium, possible bomb material, but Western worries about Iran's nuclear activities are focused on its enrichment of uranium, which can also provide the core of nuclear weapons if refined much more.” http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/01/05/us-nuclear-iran-fuel-idUSTRE80413H20120105

“Nuclear reprocessing technology was developed to chemically separate and recover fissionable plutonium from irradiated nuclear fuel. Reprocessing serves multiple purposes, whose relative importance has changed over time. Originally reprocessing was used solely to extract plutonium for producing nuclear weapons.”

Argentina has already developed plants to enrich uranium According with US they could made 10 nuclear devices at year if they want.

2- Don’t be silly please advanced for whom? You? Just an implosion to create the nuclear reaction and voila you are cooked. If they don’t bomb you it is because they don’t want that’s all.

Delivery? Well that wouldn’t be so difficult for the argies but they can always use A380 with some middle east UK hater as a pilot for the job. Ha ha

All your nuclear tech comes from USA and USA acquired it from Germany you are not even able to put a sat into space in the near future the argies can. So how long do you think they will take to assemble a nuke to reach London if UK push too far?

Now make your research before type again please.

    @ 87 - Damn you beat me too it!!!(LOL)

Danny burger has'nt actually looked up any facts about the UK nuclear deterrent before he posted. Perhaps I should spell out to him that the 1st British nuclear devices had to be built from scratch because the USA would'nt share the technology with us. He forgets or does not know that a lot of the pioneers in nuclear research were Brits (like Rutherford).

He also does'nt know that making a viable bomb and delivery system takes years and a lot of testing.

He probably does'nt know that we also have a space industry - which successfully builds satellites. We also have SKYLON a promising design for a SSTO spaceplane.

The stupid claims about HMS Vanguard really made me laugh. The Argentinians just made it up, knowing we would issue a blanket “no comment” about her whereabouts.

HMS Vanguard could hit any target in Argentina from a position in the Bay of Biscay - why would it need to be deployed closer to potential counter detection and attack?

The claim just looked like staged hysteria, and was frankly pathetic and laughable. It was, absolute, fabricated idiocy.

@nyaria2000 (#) I too can quote churchill ”Victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory however long and hard the road may be; for without victory there is no survival.”

Uruguay's latest staements. As the OAS before them, Uruguay also disapproves of the militarisation in the South Atlantic.

This is cut and pasted from the Buenos Aires Herald
Uruguay is concerned over the “militarization of the South Atlantic,” within the framework of the Argentine-UK dispute over the sovereignty of the Malvinas islands, Uruguayan Foreign Minister Luis Almagro said today.

“This is a very strong scenario. We are worried over the militarization of the South Atlantic. This definitely goes against UN resolutions. It also goes against the resolution that urges both countries to discuss the sovereignty of the Malvinas islands to solve this conflict in a peaceful manner,” he added.

“In addition, it goes against having a colony in the continent and to think that it can be sustained by force. All of this gathers elements that we obviously do not like,” Almagro explained.

Argentine Foreign Minister Héctor Timerman yesterday accused the UK of entering nuclear weapons in the South Atlantic, part of a “militarization” process and filed a formal complaint before the UN.

As the 30th anniversary of the Malvinas islands war approaches, tension between Argentina and UK have mounted in the last weeks.

The Vanguard class can actually hit Argentina with its missiles whilst in bay in England and putting it off their coast doesn't really make much sense. Its missiles can go in-excess of 7,500 miles.

It will most likely be the Trafalgar class of submarine if anything near Argentine waters but this won't be any different than what the UK has done over the past 30 years.

Not only that, argentina does not have the abilty or technology to build a ballistic missle let alone the money to finance such a nuclear weapons program. If it was as easy as you seem to think it is, then please explain why every other nations struggled and spent years developing a nuclear bomb and more so, why Argentina still have not got one. Its because that CAN NOT build one as they do not have the means or the ability or the finances to do it.

My opinion this debate will go on for many many years to come considering its in the Argentine constitution to try claim for the Falkland Islands, sounds like CFK has got the majority of Latin America behind them but I think that will be short lived when they found out its for self-greed, well considering that they announce recently that they anticipate a ‘difficult’ year for the Treasury and the Argentine economy. and the fact inflation his getting higher by the month, My question is “ What will CFK do next if the islanders dont budge on negations ?, CFK Will they try to deport the Welsh from Patagonia because of the British inheritance or stop British flags from flying in the South Atlantic, or even worse deport the British residentss from living in Argentina. where will CFK madness stop I wonder... We back the Falkland Islanders 100%, We wont sell them out ” like CFK is trying to sell out the mines in La Rioja for greed even though there is a mass protest for it not to happen.

This discussion has reached the level of an argument on the level of kids arguing in a school playground. Who in their right mind is talking about nuclear devices being used against any country. Britain would never use nuclear weapons against a conventional attack from any country. The idea that we would want to do any harm against Argentina is nonsense. In the last Falklands conflict we could have sunk your navy in its port and taken out your mainland airfields with submarine or air launched missiles but we did not.
Please keep the discussion on an adult level - maybe we both have something to learn from each others opinion.
As to submarine deployments, no RN ballistic missile submarine would be anywhere near Argentina. For all you know there could be US Russian subs. cruising off the S. American coast - they would never say.

Despite all the increasingly hysterical comments form many opposing quarters on many worldwide 'forums', with wholly distorted and deliberately twisted reasoning, there is only one single matter that is reasonable, clear, and completely unambiguous. Self determination for all the population (excluding military forces) of the islands. This could be settled right now by the UK/Falklands Island Government inviting an independent UN body to visit and conduct a referendum in accordance with the highest polling standards (they could even visit each and every islander personally) to ascertain the Islanders final binding wishes. This principle is enshrined in the UN charter and would silence any further claims by all sovereign countries over the Islands. I sincerely believe that an extremely high percentage would vote to remain under British protection. It was my pleasure to meet the Hon. Harold Rowlands OBE back in July 1984 and it was absolutely obvious that the Falkland Islanders were as British as anyone else from the United Kingdom. Their dignity and integrity, sense of decency and democracy is what sets them worlds apart from those who wish to annex and purge them.

Self-determination you say? Last time I checked the islanders are full fledged British citizens. Why do they need to self-determine? That is only for populations that do not have citizenship to a State and wish to achieve that.

Besides, you cannot take by for a territory, transport population nearly 10,000 km and then argue for their independence and EXPECT that those who lost the territory by force will say ok....

If everyone has the best interests of a small number of islanders at heart, let them hold a referendum as to who they wish to be? Let the UN conduct this and accept their final and binding decision. I'm quite sure they do not wish to 'disappear' without a trace if they were to become Argentinian.
Surely this would be the best proposition for the Argentine Foreign Minister to push at the UN? No need for negotiation or militarisation or indeed armed conflict, and all resolved very quickly. If Argentina truely believes in democracy, good civil governance, rule of law by consent it has nothing to be worried about.

@117 Helber Galarga “you cannot take by force a territory, transport population nearly 10,000 km and then argue for their independence and EXPECT that those who lost the territory by force will say ok....”

Can you really say that with a straight face and not feel that you're being ever so slightly hypocritical.

Let us recap on how most of the countries in the Americas came into being:

    1) Take the territory by force....tick
    2) Transport population 5-10,000 km and deposit in said territory...tick
    3) Kill a large proportion of the indigenous population....tick
    4) Argue for independence (without asking what's left of the indigenous population if it is ok)....tick
    5) Grab as much of the surrounding territory as possible while killing some more of the remaining indigenous population....tick
    6) Carry on as if nothing had happened....tick

That's the way it tended to happen in general and we can't turn back time and put it right. Unfortunately, it was just par for the course and most of the great European seafaring nations got involved to some extent. And let's not forget that those seeking independence were largely the colonists (and descendents of colonists) themselves and not some innocent bystanders who had nothing to do with the whole process.

So far, the history of Falkland Islands has involved point 2 and possibly (depending on which side of the fence you are on) point 1. Unlike much of the Americas, they have a remarkably unblemished record and have far more right to their territory than most others, especially as they didn't have to move any indigenous population out of the way. All they have done is take a windswept group of remote uninhabited islands and turn it into a thriving community through hard work and perseverence. Only they (and to some extent the nation that steered them) can have any say in what they do want to do with the Islands. Argentina does not even enter into the equation.

Which part of “taking a territory by force and then shipping population for nearly 10,000 km” does not apply to Argentina? With the bonus of exterminating the previous inhabitants.
In fact, the Falkland Islands were not inhabited by people shipped nearly 10000 km; quite a large proportion are descended from South Americans, although- or therefore- they are no more enthusiastic about Argentine rule as a result.

@138 Helber Galarga “they are as indigenous to the islands as breast implants are to boobs!”

Well, I would be interested to hear your definition of what constitutes indigenous. Take any “indigenous” people in the world and you will find that, at some point in their history, they migrated to the place they are now considered indigenous to. In many cases, there were probably people there before them, but they are now long gone. How long do they have to be there before they are classed as indigenous?

The Falkland Islanders are the only people to have permanently settled the Falkland Islands. There might have been some Amerindians there at some point a very long time ago, but they are long gone. Any other Europeans who might have predated the ancestors of the current Falkland Islanders also don't count, because they too are long gone and were too transient anyway to establish any real cultural connection with the Islands.
The very least that you could call the Falkland islanders would be a “recent indigenous population”. No other population has any cultural connection with the Islands.
Claiming the Islands certainly is part of the Argentinian peoples culture, but that is where it ends (in spite of what they get taught at school). It doesn't count if you've never inhabited the place or and never played a part in it's development.

Latest reports are that projected benefits for the Falkland Islanders of the future oil bonanza could be in the region of $180 billion making it the South Atlantic version of Kuwait or Qatar but much richer per capita. That means approx $60,000,000 per islander.(I hope I haven't missed out any zeros).

Even allowing for the City of London's cut when investing the sovereign wealth fund it still means an awful lot of money to be spent upgrading facilities on the islands as well as investing elsewhere.

Falkland islanders know who their friends are in the region as well as in the UK and other British overseas territories. They will be becoming rich ' beyond their wildest dreams' just as the Argentina's 'economic miracle' implodes.

That will teach the wicked witch to throw her toys out of the pram. Argentina could have had a 50% cut under joint exploration agreements.
If there ever was a possibility of a British government trying to convince the islanders to accept Argentine sovereignty before there is absolutely zero chance now. The landscape has changed utterly just as it did at the time of the invasion.

The strongest guarantor of the islanders right to decide their own future is the British people. When Bliar tried to pressure the Gibraltarians into accepting joint sovereignty in return for a short term alliance with some Spanish politicos various Labour politicians ,notably Andrew Mackinley,
told him he would not get away with it either politically or with the British people.
The same situation applies to the Falklands but with gold plated knobs on.

    Helber 117,

“Self-determination you say? Last time I checked the islanders are full fledged British citizens. Why do they need to self-determine? That is only for populations that do not have citizenship to a State and wish to achieve that.”

Hmm. Let's see what the situation is with the other territories on the UN's list, shall we?

Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Gibraltar, Montserrat, Pitcairn Islands, Saint Helena, and Turks and Caicos Islands.

    All full fledged British citizens.

What about the non British territories on the list?

New Caledonia. Full fledged French citizens

US Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and Guam. All full fledged US citizens

Tokelau. Full fledged New Zealand citizens.

So, according to you all these territories are not entitled to self determination even though the UN says they are.

@ Pirat -hunter We would like you to stay far far away from us as well, and the Falklanders.

The oil has been found - what is at issue is how much. I hope there is a lot. The Falklanders would get rich and be able to plough a lot of investement into the islands, the UK mainland would get a cut from taxes, and help bail us out of the deep dark hole we are in, Argentina gets sweet F....A..... having cut their nose off to spite their face about the issue. Poetic justice in action.

As to the issue of hoiw indigenenous the Falklanders are:

    A) Many of them can trace back their ancestry on the isalnds longer than many Argentinians can in their country.

    B) They are the people actually living there now.

I always shake my head when Argentine posters call them “squatters” or “ususrpers”. The current inhabitants never removed anyone.

In fact if you check your history the illegal United provinces militia and flag was removed in 1833, most of the settlers stayed. We did'nt recognise your claim, it was attempted theft. You are complaining about something that happened almost 200 years ago. It is like us tring to reclaim Eire or Heligoland.

Calling the Falkanders names is a racist smokescreen to justify trampling over them. It is the first step in generating a mindset in which conquest is justified. It is easier to kill someone, kick them out of their home of force them into occupation if they are dehumanised.

This policy has been rammed home by successive Argentine governments using propaganda aimed at all ages.

Heresa thought, as we all know these argentine posters that are so against the falklanders right to self determination are paid by the argentine government to spent their day posting on here (check the times of there post and they post at all times, which implies they have no full time jobs). I wonder just how many of them, going by the delusionary views and context of their posts, are actually mental health patients that have been sectioned and locked up. I mean what better way for CFK to use people to post the crap they post, than to use those that are locked up in mental health units. No real argentinan would ever know or suspect that CFK of exploited the mental impaired argentinans now would they.

And heres another thought, for all we know those argentine rioters could have been prisoners employed under promise of early release for taking part in the riots, you just have to look at how they all had identical wooden sticks and identical head scarfs, to see it was pre-organised and sponsered by the argentine government, off course their police in the photos were not wearing riot gear. Why? well because they were in on the plan, and knew they were never in any danger so had no need to wear hot and heavy riot gear, not even in the photos of the riots outside the british embassy where they wearing riot gear. Says alot really doesn't it.

@166 Yuleno - Touched a nerve did it? I fail to see how my post about you lot being paid to make posts by your goevernment and paid to riot by your government has anything to do with me being arrogant our implying i have a colonial mindset, after all the evidence suggest the rioters were organtised and the police not wearing riot gear suggests they knew they would not be targetted by the rioters for protecting property and the british embassy, which is further evidence the government was involved. After all normally protesters throw bricks, smash windows, and attack police in order to vent their anger and get into embassys and property to cause as much damage as possible. Throwing paint bombs and having identical headscarfs and sticks (which you would have thought were ment to be used to attack property and police but weren't) kind of proves it was an orcastrated riot.

Oh and by the way, my business is not an internet based business, yes we have a website and sell from the website, but 99% of sales is from offline sales practices and contracts.

The only people here with the colonial mindset is you and your fellow argentines that believe the islands are yours and want to get them back, and remove the islanders or enforce argentine rule over the islanders despite their rights to self determination to choose themselves who rules their islands. It is not me or any other brit here that has such desire to colonies land that has not and never had belonged to us. No its you that is wanting to colonise not me and my fellow brits. So calling me arrogant in the same sentence as accusing me of having a colonial mindset is not only showing your own arrogance and ignorance of the islanders right to self determination, but it also clearly shows what a true hypocrite you and the rest of the argentines, who believe the islands are theirs, really are.

united provinces never had sovereignty of the islands as the borders were over 1000 miles apart, and patagonia wasn't urs in 1833

I think all threads like this do show is how barbaric and nasty the true side of Argentina really is.

They claim lets have peace, lets have dialogue but the picture above as been witnessed thousands of times in the past 50 years is clear, these people want to forcefully take British territory and evict the only native population from the islands.

And you expect Britain to engage in dialogue whilst you act like a bunch of low life scumbags? You people must be even more divorced from reality than I'd given you credit for.

Well done to Britain for standing up to the aggressor and having the military, economic and political strength to push the bully back down to where it came from. You should have learn't that Britain will only respond to aggression with an overwhelming amount of aggression in return, the UK does have no history of backing down to an aggressor and the sooner you learn that, the better your chances will be.

If Argentina is serious about the islands it needs to seek real peace, stop threatening the islanders and being so hostile towards them, build the relationship bridges and offer a real alternative to British rule and then it may have a chance but it will take a long time for the islanders to forget what you've done, build some trust in your motives and only then will you stand a chance of getting something that was never yours.

This is Argentine oil, being drilled by colonial pirates, protect by pirate ships, sooner all are sunk better.

Clearly, Malvinas is Argentine, claim exist since before Argentina exist. This is well documented that we renounce claim in 1850 but claim was resurrected under Peron who traveled to Italy and adopted policies of Mussolini fascist party in order to make Argentina great nation that it became.

As part of expanded living space, we must continue this policy and we must take over Terra del Fuego and Beagle Channel and then Malvinas.

My grandfather while working for Intelligence visit Indonesia in 1976 to copy plans they used for invasion of Portuguese East Timor and removal of colonial population to be copied in invasion of Malvinas.

If we had copied these plans our invasion would be success and like East Timor is part of Indonesia, Malvinas would now be part of Argentina. World has very short memory.

In order to do good for our country we must do bad things. This is what my grandfather always says.

We know Malvinas never been under Argentine sovereignty but gifted to us by Papal Bull in 1496. No one can argue with Pope or God, that whole of South America given by him to Spain.

Go home colonial pirates w claim you land before our country exist, you can not argue with that. You live there almost 200 years illegally, you have no rights. We will own your homes, farms, businesses, oil and fish.

You will be made to speak Spanish, drive on right, obey our laws, live under our government and governor. In return we give you right to be reborn like our national hero James Peck.

James Peck is son of Malvinas War traitor Terry Peck, he was awarded MBE for helping British occupy our land. Unlike his father, James is brave, patriot, his father will be turning in his grave.

You can all be reborn like James Peck. Or you can die like Terry Peck!!!!!!

Am I the only one who sees in the Argentine obsession with their fictionalised version of their and the Falklands history some sort of strange Miss Havisham like ( Great Expectations) time warp.

This obsession with Britain as a declining empire is about 60 years out of date .Three quarters of the population of the British Empire gained independence in August 1947 with India and Pakistan.

Australia ,New Zealand, South Africa and Canada had already become independent in the last half of the 1800s or early 1900s.From 1947 to 1967 most of the other big empire countries gained independence .
Hong Kong was the notable exception and this was returned to China (as per the agreement made) by 1997.

The remainder are small territories which want to keep the link with Britain for various reasons. In the case of the Falklands one of the reasons is that there is a ' neighbour from hell' ,Argentina , which is under some childish crazy delusion that it owns the place ; based on some distorted rewritten history books.

Not only is Argentina aggressive towards the Falklands but at one time or the other has been at war with its neighbours and as late as 1982 Generalissimo Galtieri threatened Chile that ' you are next after the Malvinas and I am going to pee in the Pacfic'.

It is not the normal way to make friends and influence people. The problem is in the Argentinian psyche and there is no sign of any improvement there.Jorge Lanata is 100% right in his diagnosis but there is no chance of the islanders wanting closer political links with Argentina. Why should they link up with a bit player at the arse end of the world when they are forging strong new links and friendships with more and more countries in the Anglosphere and Europe. The oil bonanza will facilitate this.

Britain was asleep as regards Argentina up to 1982. The invasion woke Britain up and totally changed the landscape. Now there is no possibility of any British Government 'selling the islanders down the river.

a fleet of subs can solve this problem in a few months and it will also turn many brits into olympic swimmers I think Argentina needs to use the british nuclear submarine threat as a excuse to build Argentina our own nuclear submarine fleet, we know very well what UK has being trying to do since 1807 we tough them a lesson then and we will teach them a lesson now, if not at a UN meeting with a fleet of nuclear subs or even an H-bomb witch is the kind of language brits understand best, we Argentine's learn fast how to deal with brits, 200 years wasted with diplomacy can be easily recuperated by a single H-bomb blast. that is if we push for a nuclear defence program to end british occupation of Argentina, british thieves go back home or get used to being treated as the illegal aliens in south America and a legal target for Argentina subs comming really soon to an ocean near you.

@Yuleno #179 - Try broadening your mindset. For example, how would a pro-argentine protest differ from an anti-government protest? For a start am not talking about difference between pro and anti argentine government and talking only about the anti british protests outside british companies and the british embassy in argentina. Is their any pro british demostrations in argentina? No their isn't so your trying to deflect from the fact it was a antie british protest is pathetic. Just look at the photos off the recent riots and you have people with the same headscarfs and identical pieces of stick, if it has not been a pre-organised protest by the govenrment they would have had different headscarfs and wooden sticks that differed from table legs, pool cues, base ball bats etc. And not wooden sticks equal in sixe, shape and colour. The fact they were all the same is evidence they were handed out to them. Further evidence of the police knowing they would not be attacked is the lack of riot gear, which in anti government protest they always wear. So lack of riot gear means the police knew about the riots and knew they would not need the riot gear, which is evidence of government organising the riots. Also whats funny is their has been so far, no more riots despite their threats to attack one business every week.

End of the day you can deny it as much as you want, but am entitled to hold my opinion, and the fact you responded to it, in the way you did originally, says to me that it touched a nerve, and as they say “The truth hurts” doesn't it Yuleno!

    On to later comments:

@117, 121 et seq. Let's see. You speak Spanish. A European language. Why would that be? Surely, horror of horrors, it couldn't be because the Spanish took a territory, imported a population over 10,000 kms and then declared independence, COULD IT?

CFKs attempts to make a distinction between the junta and the so called unwilling Argentinians who did not want to invade the Falklands might seem plausible to her and the rest of her cronies but to the rest of the world (or those that follow this dispute) the excuse is false and as see through as a clean window pane.

Most Falkland /British bloggers here know that not all Argentinians are fanatical supporters of the rabid peronistas and that as per Jorge Lanata it takes courage to be different in that type of environment.

Argentina in the year 1900 was one of the richest countries in the world ; now it is way down the list. South Africa is richer.

The only way Argentina is going to reach its full potential is when it ditches that self destructive peronist philosophy and becomes a true democracy instead of a pseudo democracy. That includes sorting out its real problems instead of being brainwashed into thinking that everything will be fine once the Malvinas are Argentine ;which is not going to happen.

Before 1982 the British people knew very little about the Falklands and various devious British politicians could get away with dirty deals. Now the situation is totally different as the British people are alert and will not let those things happen. Apart from the tragic loss of life in 1982 the Argentinian invasion probably did the Falklanders and the British
    a big favour.

The countries that Argentina tries to bully into supporting it on the Falklands only pay lip service . They are already backing away.

Chile is now militarily more powerful than Argentina . Peronism has not worked for Argentina at all. It has a built in sell by date and its demise can be predicted with absolute certainty just as the demise of communism or the Arab tyrannies could be predicted.

CFKs attempt to build a peronist dynasty is on the wrong side of history and its demise, probably for internal economic reasons, is an historical inevitability.

The technical weakness for Argentina trying to sell its MALVINICATION message to anywhere apart from Argentina and some parts of Latin America is that apart from Spain and Portugal nobody talks the languages.

Editors of English language newspapers,tv channels etc have a massive in built advantage in getting the message across once they decide what the message is.I am sure the British government is giving out the true message now. For example various Caribbean CELAC and ALBA members are looking at which side their bread is buttered and changing their collective minds to get back 'on message'. Argentina will find it has less new friends than it thought it had.

The advantage is probably about 20:1.The biggest media website in the world is the UK's Daily Mail. I am sure that the English speakers on the internet do what I do which is find out what is going on all over the world because it is so easy to read Australian,Canadian ,US, African , New Zealand etc media outlets. From my own observations Argentina's message is not going down well there in the English speaking blogosphere.

For example when Tinman spouted his nonsense at the UN the English speaking delegates and Europeans would have thought 'what rubbish' but would have listened politely .

The only consistent Argentine supporters in the media outside of Latin America are Press TV of Iran and RT of Russia both well known strongholds of democracy.

Argentina is on to a loser here, trying to outshout the UK in a English dominated media world.

    “i don't live in Argentina”

There are several types of Argentine posters on here I note:

    1. Old establishment types, the uber nationalists. Many of whom either date back to the 70's and early 80's rape and genocide of Argentina political dissidents, or who explain that age away in terms of left wing “terrorists” and “traitors” getting their just deserts.

Most of these live outside of Argentina.

    2. The younger, more naive, hot tempered, Malvinas Fanatics, of very low intelligence, whose only world view is shapped by reading nationalist literature and listening to their governments rants about the Mavlinas and Great Britain.

Most of these live in the USA and mix mainly with fellow Hispanics.

    3. The veterans - whose views are shaped by their having fought a war they lost and were then ostracised by the government that sent them and the entire Argentine society. They are generally ill educated and their mindset has been shaped by the shock of their defeat and treatment and the propaganda they were exposed to from school to national service, to the conflict.

There appears to be ONE of these veterans posting here. All of the other Malvinas fanatics are armchair warriors, who prefer others to fight their wars (see group 3) and wish to do everything they can to stoke up hatred, make threats and generally, fire everyone up.

    4. The more moderate Argentines, people who are educated, are more intelligent than either of the above two groups.

Most of these live in Argentina. But they are roundly condemned by groups 1 and 2 for being traitors, socialists, left wingers, imposers.

You would find in very difficult absent traveling back to 1930's Germany or Italy to find the same level nationalist, fascistic, vitriol spouted out by groups 1 and 2.

The fact that the failed logic of their own mindset passes them by is either because they have such low intelligence they can not comprehend or they are naturally evil minded hateful people.

I have been observing carefully your disinformation, that is: false or deliberately misleading information often put out as propaganda & misinformation activities: a lot of hogwash; but, hey! That is part of life. We understand that.

IF I MAY, I WILL GIVE YOU A FEW WORDS OF ADVICE:
Maintaining peace, so heavy in our memory and so costly, and negotiation is Argentina immediate goals; but don’t you underestimate us. If you insist on militarizing the South Atlantic, you, as a “Knowledgeable Belligerent Strategist”, should not believe what the British propaganda says.

A miscalculation or accident can set you on a bigger mess. Thus, you must be prepared to suffer reverses, even defeats. They will be sent to teach you wisdom and prudence, to call forth your energies to negotiate and return the Malvinas to Argentina and prevent you from falling further into greater disasters.

    Cordially, you Argie friend

You must always keep in mind the following: We Argentines shall never yield to your power; we shall never surrender our sovereignty to the Malvinas Island even if you insist on displaying in the South Atlantic your apparently overwhelming might.
So we say to the United Kingdom: Its present militarization of the South Atlantic will not work; it is not consistent with the XXI century paradigm. If you insist on this strategy, eventually you will learn that “this was not your finest hour.”

You and all the other Argentine uber fascists on here, need to GROW UP, stop threatening a tiny island of 3,500 people, stop harassing our shipping, stop your insults, stop your harassment of our people, stop interdicting our shipping, stop violating our airspace and territorial waters.

Stop claiming sovereignty over our islands and the people who live here. You have never had sovereignty over these islands. You've only ever come here in force, in superior numbers as cowards.

You and your type talk tough and ask others to act for you. Your pathetic government, giving Mugabe a run for his money. How sick can you get? How low can you stoop?

1-“Argentina doe not have the infastructure to enrich” really and who says that? You?

You are absolutely wrong Argentina is one of the 10 nations in the world that can enrich uranium on its own facilities and can produce plutonium. Argentina has enrichment uranium plants since 1960 (long time ago) and started to build new ones in ‘70. And one of them uses gaseous diffusion technology.

    Uranium Enrichment Argentina

“In the late 1960s, the Ezeiza facility was built to extract plutonium from spent reactor fuel.”
“The construction of Pilcaniyeu was initiated in 1978 by the military that uses gaseous diffusion technology “.

During the ’80 and ‘90 Argentina provided enriched uranium 235/20% to Iran and before rebuilt nuclear started by the Americans. Also provide aerospace know how for military purposes (missiles).

Iran is currently looking for nuclear fuel and Argentina is in the list of suppliers.

Now can you tell me how they will supply other countries with fuel without capabilities to enrich uranium?
    http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Middle_East/KK06Ak02.html

2- “Not only that, argentina does not have the abilty or technology to build a ballistic missle” again you are wrong.

3- Financial would be a problem for Argentina.
    Pakistan
    Population: 188 Millions
    GDP: $204.1 billion

    Argentina:
    Population:40 Millions
    GDP: $420 billions

Pakistan being less rich than Argentina has Nukes as you can see money is not the problem.

4- “If it was as easy as you seem to think it is, then please explain why every other nations struggled and spent years developing a nuclear bomb and more so, why Argentina still have not got one”

Germany the richest country in Europe and more advanced technologically that anyone in Europe has not nukes assembled. So do you think that if UK threat Germany with nukes Germany will not nuke London?

So your logic is very infantile and shows your lack of knowledge on this topic.

Who really cares abt the past in the sense of agreements?
The fact than Argentina has broken all agreements when it chooses, this then stops any other agreements that will be stuck to, would it not,
If the United Nations and other smaller but no less international treaty organisations like the OAS were to decide that:
Because of its proximity, Argentina has a right to sovereignty over the Falkland Islands
And as a direct result of this judgement, these organisations do not acknowledge and respect the right to self-determination by the Falkland Islanders and their ethnicity,
Such organisations would have lost their moral purpose and their justification for existing.
Taking such a ‘position’ would be tantamount to overtly giving a ‘free hand’ to stronger nations over weaker nations.
    Does geographical ‘proximity’ endow sovereignty?
If Argentina continues to proclaim that ‘proximity endows sovereignty’ and if others support that viewpoint, this signals danger for many small independent nations around the world. A case in point could be the southern Caribbean where several island nations lie close to the Venezuelan coast.
Hugo Chavez is already at logger heads with Trinidad and Tobago over fishing, oil and gas rights on the continental shelf and very recently he stated his full support for the Argentinean claim over the Falkland Islands. In the light of his unpredictability and apparent lust for power, should the southern Caribbean Islands not be more than a little concerned about their own independence? That would be a very sad day for world peace and stability.

That, Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada and St Vincent do these Islanders have a right to self-determination and continued independence or does Chavez have a right to invade and fly the Venezuelan flag? The world must decide.

ls that the best you can do, Think?
    Pathetic.
Just in case l was wrong l checked a few sources.
The second time Britain was at war with Denmark in the Napoleonic wars.
The cause of the war, as you no doubt know, was the threat to join France & hand over the Danish fleet to Napoleon & the threat to close the Baltic to British trade.
The Baltic was where Britain got most of her Naval supplies.
With possession of the Danish & Portuguese fleets, Napoleon could have invaded Britain.
    A necessary move.
You didn't refute any of the other statements that l made, so l guess you must agree.
All in all, even counting 1801 & 1807 the Danes did far more damage to my Dad's people than we ever did to them.
But l don't hold those things against the present Danish people.
    lts time to move on.

@dannyberger - I was talking about anti british protesters you dumb shit. OH and how many do we see with sticks and headscarfs in the videos you link too? None, i geuss you do not know the difference between peaceful protest and the hatefilled violent protest against british companies and britain, which i must admit was rather pathetic as i have seen better bar fights, then that. I mean paint bombs, come on lol. It was so obivously staged by the government wanting to get maximum press exposure whilst causing little to no damage.

oh and no you do not have the capacity to enrich plutonion to weapons grade, and bulid a ballistic missle as you do not have the industrial, engineering, scienctific, finances or the technology to do it. So you have few centifuges, you do relise the only enrich enough for use as nuclear fuel rods, you do not have the capacity to enrich to weapons grade, look at iran, they have thousands of the things, and still can not do it.

You say am wrong, but provided no evidence are we suppose to put aside our own scientific knowledge and accept we are wrong just on your word. I don't think so.

Argentina truely a full democracy - really thats why they are looking at changing the constitution so CFK and be president for life, tell me, will you get a referendum on that? I doubt it. Not only that it is listed as a failed democracy where the government prevents free speech, the new terror laws are an example of that and so are the actions they have taken to get control of what is printed in the papers. Which means your government now controls the information you read, as such they are free to manipulate it and therefore manuipulate the population e.g. indoctrinate. They do not need to censor the internet, as its clear you do not believe anyone else in the world.

Also you say the police would protect protestor, thats funny since your police have an appaling history of beating people up and throwing them into cells.

“oh and no you do not have the capacity to enrich plutonion to weapons grade” “you do not have the capacity to enrich to weapons grade”

Have you ever attend to school mate its plutonium and not plutonion.

Well to be honest we have in Germany and Argentina also has since long time ago.

And if I would be you I would be so scared, because the Argentinean can blow up you whole island if they get piss off.

Again they have and you are so ignorant look for Pilcaniyeu this is a gaseous plant for civilian use.
    Here a road map http://www.blueskyuranium.com/s/Uranium101.asp?ReportID=270037&_Title=Uranium-Industry-in-Argentina

Again you cannot compare Iran with Argentina, they are not so advanced in technology and the Know how in Nuclear field was provided by Argentineans and also for missile ballistic program.

You are a flagged indoctrinate mate that cannot see the forest because the little colonial mindset tree is blinding you.

How many times I have to say you that I’m not Argentinean? German/Italian do you understand the difference?

For a start i am dsylexic, so my spelling and grammer are not as good as those that can see (think) words with letters in the order as they appear. So mocking and pointing out a person spelling, is nothing short of discrimination and totally unnecessary. As for insults and violence, yes i called you a dumb shit, because you truely believe argentina has the means to build a nuclear warhead, when it does not. But i do not see anything is aid that could be seen as violence. Or are you trying to make yourself out to be the innocent victim, yes argentinians are good at doing that aren't they!

Argentina can blow up our whole island, what with a flaming pea shooter, Err They have no nuclear weapons capability. Thats statement alone confirms your a dumb shit.

As for iran, argentina did not provide the technology russia did, as one you do not have the ballistic missle technology yourselves, so can not provide what you do not have and two, the iranian missles are based on russian designs. Another statement that proves your a dumb shit.

Yes i do undetrstand the difference between german/italian and argentinian. You are obivious anger you lost 2 world wars to britain and her allies.

As for me being an angry person. Not at all, i am quite happy and proud to be british. But at the same time, being a buisness man i do not take crap from anyone and i speck my mind. SO when i say your a dumb shit, its because you are a dumb shit. Its not because i have any personal hatred towards you or wish violence on you, it just that i say it how it is. If you don't like it, then stop talking a load of crap. Hell even germany doesn't have nuclear warheads of ballistic missles, so how the hell are they suppose to have helped argentina build their nuclear missles (that do not exist) - Its a well known fact that it was Canada that helped you build nuclear power stations etc, ohh and canada is a commonwealth country and does not have nuclear weapons either. So your talking a load shit.

I see Danny has been on the loopy juice again. It is true if Argentina works hard they maybe able to build a nuclear device in about 5-10 years although if they deployed it on the Falkland islands, 3,000 people would die and then the UK would respond and there would immediately be no Argentina or Argentine people and 40m lives would be lost and the chances of a hit are very slim with a Type 45 destroyer sat there which is capable of shooting down ballistic missiles.

So its all a bit pointless really given the UK would wipe Argentina off the face of the planet so clearly Argentina wouldn't be foolish enough to launch a strike and they would now posses a weapon that would really serves no purpose (the UK in its entire history has never threatened Argentina with a nuclear strike, in fact the UK didn't even target the Argentine mainland with a conventional weapon during the illegal invasion of 82').

So with the Argentine economy in a ever perilous state spending billions on development will serve no purpose not to mention its against the treaty Argentina is a signatory of.

So apart from that, you're on to something lol.......

Also writing articles that are designed to outrage the general public is a great way to sell more papers or get more online readers.

@237 It's sort of worrying that the Argentinians seem to take everything they read in the newspaper as objective fact. There seems to be no judgement or evaluation of the source. I'm not suggesting that it is some kind of cognitive deficiency, but more the long term affects of propaganda by their Ministry of Truth.

So trolling-for-popularity amongst journalists is new to the Argentinians and the Grauniad's Comment-Is-Free section would be completely lost on them.

The fact is, it does not matter how many support her,, she cannot have what she has never owned or administrated,
And besides Great Britain would never ever hand a democracy over to a dictatorship, it is an a impossibility,

Argentineans should tale a leaf out of the Arab spring, and get rid of her, then re-build Argentina into a country worthy of the name, step into the real world, and get the respect that you deserve, instead of being laughs at as a 4th world despot,

Quoted from the GUARDIAN Tu 2/14/12
    http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/
    Good morning everybody!

    255 Marcos MORON3

Here is a film all the nationalist children of Argentina should watch. It should be compulsory education in Argentine schools to learn about their country recent history, instead of teaching lies about the Falkland Islands (the imaginary Malvinas - which Argentina has NEVER had sovereignty over).

That something like this was allowed to happen is a crime against humanity, 50,000-100,000 raped, tortured, mutilated, murdered and disappeared (Borges). Unborn babies ripped out of their mothers wombs, young children taken from their parents, who were murdered by the heroic Argentine military.

Anyone of you born in the 70's? I hope your lucky enough to know who your real parents are...

The Official Story / La historia official (1985)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7LF5II0wIY

It's a film everyone should watch. Feel shame because the specter of fascism still grips Argentina and as Martino Moreno said “If publishing the truth is forbidden, then lies, ignorance and poverty will follow”.

Argentina's history is still being written by Moreno's assassins.

l knew that you were a Dane, no Swede would defend Denmark the way you do.
Conqueror in post #250 answered you before l could(important things to do, don't you know?) lt seems like a fair assessment to me.
    You were collateral damage.
Why should we care about provocation or niceties like declarations of war?
Didn't seem to worry the Danes when they ravaged the British lsles for OVER 300 years.
Didn't seem to worry Argentina when they invaded a land that is NOT THEIRS in 1982.
As l said, dear Thinkus, stop playing the victim.
Who gives a rat's arse about the civilians in Copenhagen?
What about the civilians in York? & Lincoln & East Anglia & Mercia?
The Danes even sailed up the rivers so they could kill, loot & burn inland churches.
Kill the monks, steal the church vestments then desecrate the churches.
Even the Muslims didn't destroy the churches(they made them into mosques)
Your ancestors, Think, were savages & you have the gall to call us “brutish”!
Now you've hitched your wagon to a lying, conniving ultimately stupid ideology of the “malvinas”(which as ChrisR says, doesn't exist).

Its also a matter of principle, people who have been British since the 1830s have chosen to remain so and so should be allowed to do so in peace. Cost is irrelevant.
As to our apparent militarisation of the area, Prince William is a search and rescue pilot. I'm assuming that if he finds any Argentinians in distress then he should do what, just leave them with they are? HMS Dauntless is simply replacing HMS Montrose as since the war, the RN has always deployed either a destroyer or frigate to the area as part of a military deterrence. It doesn't matter that its one of the newest ships in the fleet. Just so Argentina doesn't get any ideas in the future about Falklands War II. If we were going to militarise the area, surely we would be sending more then just the one ship. And as for the sub, very few people know where it is, that's the whole point about them and besides, the South Atlantic is a pretty big place just because it could be passing through it doesn't mean to say its targeted at Argentina.
And besides, any British government that ever tried to negotiate against the wishes of the islanders on sovereignty wouldn't exactly last very long

And a certain Squatterette addresses me again at (292) and again at (298) and again at (302)…………………

Finding the looong Malvinas weekend afternoons a bit “intellectually under-stimulating”, perhaps?

    Thank God for Vodka, sister……………

Its a shame the British government has treated the Chagossians so differently to the Falklanders.
The Chagos scandal really is a disgraceful chapter in UK history, poodle Britain selling out to the Yanks and screwing its own people over. Nice.

Never fear, sr Think & l go back a long way,
We mutually despise each other, mainly because l believe him to be a hypocrite & misogynist he can't stand me because l always manage to beat him & show him up for what he is.!
One thing in his favour though, he's not too rude. Not like some of the idiot malvinistas on here!
