Mar 21st, 2012 - 09:40 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Former soldiers deployed to Patagonia during the Malvinas War decided to occupy the Torre Monumental (formerly know as the Torre de los Ingleses, or Tower of the English) in Retiro, as they continue with their claim for official recognition of their “war veteran status.”
The emblematic tower, located at the heart of Retiro, was renamed to “Monumental” after the 1982 conflict with the United Kingdom

I am not Anti Argentine. A lot of Argentines, don't like CFK's harassment of the Falkland Islands and Britain. Argentina is a lot like Britain and I'd like both countries to get on and I'd be in favor of sharing any oil. However, your country wants to own the Falklands and all the other islands in the South Atlantic, none of which your country has ever had sovereignty over and against the wishes of the people who live there. That is colonialism.
Your country's aggressive attitude is aggravating a lot of people in the UK. It's getting you nowhere.
Remember Timerman ?

@ 12 LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSER! Conqueror knows more about Argentina than you would ever know in your life. Tells us how it feels to live under the protection of Queen Elizabeth II. Do you like it, right? Yes :) The islands are British, and will stay British. You can do nothing to change that.

Mar 22nd, 2012 - 02:08 am - Link - Report abuse 0Every single accusation was just solely a smoke screen to deflect current problems in decline of the country and every time they open their mouths just sends more smoke to cloud the minds of the people, nothing is ever put on the news channels to show the people what is really going on, just headline news stating victory that the Prince has finally returned home. Any person in the country dares to stand up to the CFK will either be beaten senseless via Max (La Campora) mob, sent to prison for 10 years as a traitor or just simply disappear ......
@18 Mrlayback, are you not letting ypour imagination run away with you?

It's outrageous, and a clearly overt agressive political act by the UK Government to take away our King. Such unconstitutional colonialist behaviour cannot be allowed. We must send a power point presentation to the UN and a strongly worded pack of lies to all world leaders. We want our King back !!!

Mar 22nd, 2012 - 03:30 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Are you suggesting that CFK and her acolytes are resorting to the same behaviour as the junta used? Mind you she or Nestor lifted the immunity from prosecution of the former military. When I was there 4 years ago Mario Mendes, military governor of the Cordoba region was sentenced to life imprisonment. This 81 year old was removed from house arrest and taken before a court. He was not the only one. Is this Cristina's revenge?
This information I read in a publication called MIRADAS AL SUR. You are probably correct about the sheep following here. This seems to be the case with most of these populist leaders not just in Latin America.
Now Sean Pen and his new frightened little friends can calm down, take a deep breath and relax. William didn't invade Argentina after all. I'm sure he's very sorry if the poor Argentineans felt all 'intimidated' by his big scary yellow helicopter. :))
Mar 22nd, 2012 - 04:01 pm - Link - Report abuse 0http://en.mercopress.com/2012/02/24/the-malvinas-falklands-diplomacy-interrupted
Certainly not in the sense of military junta behaviour because lets be fair there is no type of military at her disposal so that's not an option, Robbing the people blind Yes indeed. Her personal wealth, in the time she has been president, has increased from less than $1,000,000 US Dollars to $50,000,000 US Dollars. 2010, they took federally owned land and created deeds for them, of course for themselves and their fake holding company (Los Sauces, SA is the name of the company). They then re-sold these federally owned lands in the south of Argentina for millions of dollars and of course, kept the money all for themselves. The taxes in Argentina are some of the highest in the world, yet the people here earn miserably low salaries, sales tax 21% on everything, goods, services, even rent! Any profit you may make, the government takes 35% of that too! And the 1.2% check tax, every retail sale in Argentina is taxed additionally 1.2% if you pay by check or credit card. and don't get me started on her ugly children... all though I question her son Max motive with La Campora (2.1 billion missing funds)...the list goes on !
Mar 22nd, 2012 - 04:36 pm - Link - Report abuse 0@12 Whilst on the subject of work, could you answer a question sensibly and honestly? I won't ask you to tell us what you do in case you think it's so that one of the many British spies can identify you. But can YOU fly a helicopter?
Mar 22nd, 2012 - 05:31 pm - Link - Report abuse 0@29: The kirchnerite regime has not (yet) resorted to the same methods the dictatorship employed to repress dissent but send worrying signals every day. They have a conspirative, manichean view of life and politics. Any media informing about problems with the country is conspiring to overthrow us (they even invented a new word for that: destituyente) and anyone who doesn't unconditionally support them is an enemy. Usually the fundamentalist kirchnerites content themselves with libel and verbal harassment on addicted propaganda media (paid by all taxpayers regardless of political orientation) and cyber-bullying via blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc. but sometimes they get more violent. Last year journalist Jorge Lanata was subjected to stone throwing by a mob of angry kirchnerites during a conference.

Stop dreaming I know you want to see Argentina invaded by the UK, US, Latin America, China and everyone, since you are not really Argentine, but at least provide specifics of how say the other countries in South/Latin America united would make your dream of self-sodomy with the argie flag true.
@41 tobias,
Mar 24th, 2012 - 09:49 am - Link - Report abuse 0lt may surprise you but no-one that l know wants to invade Argentina or, actually to see it in its present state.
l would be happy to see a peaceful, prosperous Argentina as a GOOD neighbour.
When l say a GOOD neighbour, l also mean with no expansionist ideas.
ln other words, with no claim over our land.
lt can be all done, but it seems that Argentina doesn't want to do it.
Shame, really.
@42 Neighbourly Argentinian IS oxymoron.

Before l go, please explain how the UK is expansionist.
We already have these lslands in the south Atlantic, we are not looking to get anymore land.
lts Argentina who wants to take over more land--to EXPAND.
Im tired of hearing your bla bla bla. A bla, bla bla that changes according with the occassion.

Mar 25th, 2012 - 08:03 pm - Link - Report abuse 0That is what Europe, America, China, and Latin America cannot bear nor tolerate. Fact: Argentina will never be what it is told it should be. And we will never extend friendship hands with arrogant twats who believe to be culturally, ethnically or racially superior. Sorry, but we find it difficult to be friendly with people like that.
The proof that all Europeans, Anglos, Americans are culturallly, ethnically, and racially narcissistic can be seen all across this websites in the commentary. Now all of you get lost!
