Argentina has picked a diplomatic incident with Poland following on alleged coarse expressions from a top Argentine official towards members of the local Polish community in the north of the country, most of them farmers involved in growing ‘yerba mate’ the popular infusion tea of the region. Disclaimer & comment rulesIn a previous post I made a list of all the enemies that Argentina has made for itself through its aggressive confrontational policies. I forgot to mention Repsol and the King of Spain . Now I will add Poland and the Poles. Anyone else for the list ?
Mar 28th, 2012 - 06:05 am - Link - Report abuse 0@1 As a nation, they seem desperate for a fight. They go around the world trolling other nations hoping that one will rise to their baiting. We all know they're racists and white supremacists but picking on the poles? What is that?
Mar 28th, 2012 - 06:11 am - Link - Report abuse 0It's quite bizarre that's what it is.
We once went to war over nazis bullying the Poles. Isn't this justification? Maybe just for a couple of cruise missiles? That would knock the arrogance off the faces of these squat hairy f*cktards.
Mar 28th, 2012 - 06:39 am - Link - Report abuse 0You are right: Hitler and his cohorts scapegoated the Jews; Argentina has the recent record for scapegoats; that's why the Falklands are so handy. The present Argentina government doesn't want people to look closely at the personal financial histories of CFK and her closest supporters; that's why they keep the Falklands issue in the forefront- and how we bloggers help their cause by keep waffling on about those islands.
Mar 28th, 2012 - 07:17 am - Link - Report abuse 0Typical behaviour that we have come to expect from the Argentines. no respect for people, utterly rude and incapable of being anywhere near any sort of political power.

@10 No. At best, it's COMMA.
Mar 28th, 2012 - 02:30 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Shall we pick out a few more argie turd politicians? CFK (Plastic Princess), Timerman (Tin Man), Randazzo (Randy Asshole), Puricelli (Putrid Jelly), Tomada (Ketchup), de Vido (BDSM video), Georgi (The Disgorge). And, of course, Moreno (Moron) himself.
@15 Sorry? An argie. A mind. How do these come together?
Talk about being economically fucked but it looks like the RG's are now having to rely on suitcases of dollars from Venezuela arriving to keep the country afloat, disguised as police equipment:
Mar 28th, 2012 - 03:52 pm - Link - Report abuse 0http://www.buenosairesherald.com/article/96579/cfk-minus-gsp
If moreno really said that, he must apologize for it, because that kind of expressions are a total lack of respect. On the other hand, i read some of the comments here, and let me tell you that if you think that only in argentina there are rascist people, that shows how hipocrite and ignorant some of you are, unfortunatelly rascism exists in the whole world, it's not some thing that happens mostly here only. Beside, what kind of moral authority has some of you, in order to criticise the soposed phrase by moreno, if at the same time you call c. f. k botox lady or insult some of our ministers?, there is your hipocresy again.
Mar 28th, 2012 - 03:54 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Finally i want to say that moreno is the trigger of the most conservative press which is against c. f. k's government, because he makes front the most powerfull corporations of the country, and many twisted information and lies are published about him, anyway it doesn't mean that he's a saint, may be he didn't act correcty too, in diferent oportunities, but of you want to be informed, you should buy so easily what is published about him in the press, beyond how much you hate c. f. k and us.
@20
Mar 28th, 2012 - 04:06 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Beside, what kind of moral authority has some of you, in order to criticise the soposed phrase by moreno, if at the same time you call c. f. k botox lady or insult some of our ministers?, there is your hipocresy again.
Eh? This is a blog. Our government doesnt talk to anyone like that. Imagine a sovereign state calling the people of another one what your minister/la campora member has called the Poles? you call people pirates etc. etc.
you are a totally irrational people and government. completely warped in the head if you think that your antics are acceptable international behaviour.
the problem with the Rg govt is that it is now a dictatorship with everyone shit scared of The botox Queen and as a result they think they are immune from anything and everything. they have an over inflated opinion of RG land and considering its corruption and the fact that it is just about bust is delusion on a grand scale.
Moreno has shown himself to be vile and mean from the earliest time of being in office. Remember how he kept a pistol openly on his desk and threatened any businessman who came to talk? Or, how he was captured on TV demonstrating how he would cut someones throat who opposed him?
Mar 28th, 2012 - 04:21 pm - Link - Report abuse 0- Also, as an afterthought, is everybody aware that Tinman is now trying to fire all the professional diplomats and replace them with La Campora people?
@22 Can they get more like that Tracksuit Economics Boy who told YPF to spend all their money on concession investment before they nationalise them.....or more like Le Camping Grand-leader who loses $2.1 Billion and then builds some new hotels.

Mar 28th, 2012 - 04:31 pm - Link - Report abuse 0You are right, this is a blog, and that's why i have to right to express that some of you are being hipcrite when you criticise the soposed phrase by moreno, you make a fuss for his soposed expressions, and at the same time you call c. f. k botox queen, per haps you are one the best examples of hipocresy that i could find here. On the other if you call the argentine dictatorship, that shows how ignorant you are, you have no idea about what a dictatorship is, that's why you make such a superfitial and ignorant analysis. Finally, i'm sure that your government would never insult anyone, bat at the same time, it rejects sistematicly all resolutions that call the two parts of the conflict to resume the negotiations and find a peaceful solution, like the u. n signalizes everyyear. Beside it uses partial truthes, or lies, in order to justify it's rejection, but the worse of this situation is that planty of people buy so easily the omitions of the politicians from both sides, and the lies of the press.
@24 I thought you were supposed to be a teacher. What's that in? Kindergarten? Teachers ought to have the intelligence to be able to learn! Thus, over a period of time, you should have learned how to use and spell English words. Rather than hipcrite, soposed, hipocresy, superfitial, bat, sistematicly, signalizes, truthes, planty and omitions.
Mar 28th, 2012 - 05:23 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Now go away, you silly little person. There are grown-ups talking here. Mostly Brits, Falkland Islanders, the occasional REAL American, Chilean, Uruguayan. Argie bloggers here are demonstrably employed by the argie government. It's demonstrable because they trot out the same garbage. As for being a dictatorship, doesn't the Plastic Princess govern by decree? Does she not interfere in TV programmes and get them cut if she doesn't like what they are saying? Doesn't she interfere in the affairs of other countries?
Now get this straight, dumbass, once and for all. There will be NO negotiations. Because we KNOW your intentions. Because we DON'T CARE about any UN GA resolutions. Because the Falkland Islanders DON'T WANT any negotiations. Because you have NO valid claim.
Now move on and give your butt a chance!

Mar 28th, 2012 - 07:38 pm - Link - Report abuse 0#31 Salma Yaqoob would make a good UK PM today, no?
I've been reading MercoPress almost daily for quite a few months, since my visit to the region last year. This is probably the first news that has something to do with Poland. So here comes my first comment ever :).
Mar 28th, 2012 - 07:41 pm - Link - Report abuse 0People in Poland know almost nothing about Argentina. They might know it's in South America, that they dance the tango, eat a lot of beef and have recently gone completely bankrupt. That is as much as 95% of the people know. We've heard about Polish people living in the UK, the USA, the former USSR, and even down in Australia. Polish immigration to Argentina?? Never heard that one. And *nobody* has heard about the Argentine province of Misiones! Even I was shocked to see a Madre de Dios CZESTOCHOWA church on my way to Iguazu Falls.
This is the context of Mr Moreno's opinions, which have hit the main page of Polish internet portals, with 237 comments on the most popular daily newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza webpage, 115 on another web portal I looked at. The news was also published in printed press.
I can understand that Mr Moreno is just a good example of how close to the gutter Latin American politicians can get, even today, and we should pity those who have to wake up to this gentleman being their MINISTER. But that's what I think. Just imagine what many of my compatriots think... they eat beef, they dance the tango. They are bankrupt. And they hate us.
People sometimes say stupid things they didn't mean. That happens. However, they should apologize. Or someone should apologize in their name. Or, if they can't apologize, make them go to a Polish restaurant and say kiełbasa is their favourite food, even if they hate it. Implicit apology. Easy? Nope...
Now I know Poland is not very mighty in the world scale, but what is the point of making enemies for no reason? We do have quite a lot to say in the EU, so why do you want to cross us out from your list of potential partners?
And me? I'm going to drink less Mendoza Malbec. But more Argentine mate :)

Is it not true that it was CFK and her immortals that state the world back you, [not us]
Is it not true that the world is against us [said CFK?]
The fact is, Great Britain has stated nothing of the kind, the British government has merely and only replied to lies from argentine politicians, and never ever claimed that the world backs her,
For only CFK and her deluded politicians have made silly remarks like that,
The main truth is that you and CFK are jealous and envy of Great Britain, we are what you wish to be, is this not true .

is that any way to treat a newcomer, there is nothing wrong with polish people, unlike CFK they are a proud people, and would willing back it up.

courageous people.
We will always have a few bucknuts in the Uk who will hate anything different.
World War two wasn't our war, fool. Why the heck would we fight for the UK (or Germany/Italy). Because you see, we should have fought with them since so many argies (specially back then), were Italian and German. Yet we didn't.
Mar 28th, 2012 - 10:10 pm - Link - Report abuse 0It wasn't our war, if Europe, Asia, or North America got friggin destroyed would have meant fuckwit to us, like it or not. Why are you so pissed Argentina stayed out of World War two? What was in it for us? Exactly, nada.

Brits want to deport them to Negrowkwicka (check)
The country is in a fuck'all state (from the mouth of a typical British woman herself), and not the paradise so many here claim it is.
The country is fuck'all because the Brits are lazy and don't work, which is why the Poles and Negrowkwickans came to the UK (what everyone else in that trai said, basically).

We have nothing against the Poles at all and your divide and conquer tactics dont work on the UK as we arent political pygmies like Mr Tin Man and your ludicrous president.
@Truth_Telling_Troll: Frankly, the British aren't so bad if you get to know them... neither are the Argentines, of course. In recent years, Poland joined the EU, and the British were the first to allow anyone from Poland to legally work in their country - in practice Polish people got rights similar to UK citizens. This meant, that for 5 years or so, working abroad meant going to the UK. Honestly, with a few hundred thousand people (!) appearing suddenly in the UK, the British coped pretty well.
Mar 28th, 2012 - 10:24 pm - Link - Report abuse 0The YouTube video had it's moment of fame, also in Poland. The lady on the clip, 34-year old Emma West, was identified and arrested in Croydon, London, and spent Christmas behind bars (!). I don't know what type of person she is, but if she's a normal person who had a VERY bad day (got fired?), then the consequences were actually pretty harsh. Here's the story in Polish and English:

Anyway, the only time I encountered ethnic-based hostility from a Brit was... this is really funny... in Argentina. The 2 British guys were running a hostel, and they were very open about wanting all the Polish people to leave the UK. Immediately. British xenophobes living in Argentina, running a hostel for people from around the world ROTFL. As surprising as it can get. And it was the best hostel I stayed at in Argentina! Great people (guests), great parties, great atmosphere. And the Brits grilled excellent asado :), and not fish and chips. Fortunately! :).

Mar 28th, 2012 - 10:57 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Polish people are very well accepted in the UK (If you've been you'd notice) with a wide range of Polish stores there.

Mar 29th, 2012 - 01:13 pm - Link - Report abuse 0There is some thing i value about you, unless you were honest in your comment. You recognized once and for all that you dont care about the unga resolutions, so, if you recognize that, then dont complain if our government takes hard decitions because of the rejection by the u. k. to resume the negotiations like the u. n. and most international comunity signalize. On the other hand, we know also your intentions, and per haps that's why c. f. k. is regionalizing the malvinas-falkland cause, but she is doing it only by mean diplomatic ways, she is not tring to militarize the country, like the u. k is doing in the islands, in fact, we have one of the lowest budgets of defence from south america.
Beside, i know that i dont type correctly some words, i always make mistakes when i type, beause i do it so fast, anyway you undersand because you are not idiot.
Finally, of you want to know about the state of the freedom of press in argentina, i recommend you to search on line, the map of freedom of press, which is made by a non government organizaion called, (reporters with out borders), you'll see that argentina has a good calification regarding the freedom of press. On the other hand, only an ignorant can argue the soposed intervention by the government in t. v programs, i heard that soposed intervention in all politic programs, even in those that support the government, what kind of censure is it?. Anyway what is truth, is that the government eliminated the official advertising for a few newspapers which were very critic of it's administration, which is repudiable, anyway the official advertising represents just the 10% of the whole advertisings. On the other hand, the government made so much also for the freedom of press, like the new broadcast law, and the eimination of some delits. Beyond how much you hate us, you can't buy lies or twisted information, it's rediculous and pathetic.

Argentina and China still hold the record for ongoing disputes between countries they border and anyone else they decide to evade. Juan Peron tossed the British out of Argentina in 1950’s and deemed them the Great Satan’s of the Latin world. Perhaps we Irish in Argentina would have “got the boot” from our estancias if were not for the fact that we tell better jokes about both countries and are perceived to be very fond of sheep.
Mar 30th, 2012 - 01:32 pm - Link - Report abuse 0However the real crime in Argentina is the state of emergency that exists in the Jewish community. To date no one takes responsibility for the violence against the largest non-Christian group in South America. All evidence points to internal co-operation with foreign powers following the bombing of Jewish institutions in Buenos Aires during the 1990’s. Perhaps the Poles might be in the running again as the convenient anti Semitic scapegoats, when all evidence appears that the world has not changed much in 70 years.
