The US government said on Tuesday that their recent decision to suspend Argentina from the Generalized System of Preferences, GSP, program, which waives import duties on thousands of goods from developing countries “is a serious bump in the road”, but “should not come as much of a surprise.” Read full article

“a ruling that goes 'against our legal system' ”, we we all still don't know how it goes against the argentinian legal system. Is it illegal in argentina to pay your debts and fulfill contractual obligations?

Well its no surprise to me either that the US has got nasty with prgressive Argentina, my Queen need not give in to bullying though as she has the support of a force even more powerful, in the long run, than the US empire - the world's people

The arrogance of the RG's is frankly embarrassing. who the hell do they think they are?

They are a bankrupt nation, with no free press, a virtual dictatorship, an enemy of many countries around the world (we can now add the US and Poland to the list) a sinister internal security apparatus La Campora that reminds many of Nazi Germany, endemic corruption - the list goes on.

they are a vile and horrible regime who promote nothing but bile and hate throughout the civilised world.

their arrogance will see them make a fatal mistake very shortly. that is guaranteed.

    @3 Le Camping aren't the world's people.

@4 Yes it's embarassing, but they have a pathological lack of social awareness when it comes to what is acceptable and ethically correct.

    @3British_Kirchnerist,
    You should seek help, Jock.
Did you bond with a pump up rubber mattress as a child?
    The similarities are obvious.
At least with a rubber mattress you can deflate it & hide it down the cellar.
Don't know, though how you would store mrs rubberface when you were sick of her.
    Which wouldn't be too long.

This event was due long ago and from now and on, Argentina must pay taxes on its exports to the USA, money that comes on hand.
Trade relations will not change and it is expected very little hope of improvement, if any, after April 6, 2012

@7 I'm sure that if the US agreed to publicly and unequivocally support Argentina's claim to the Falkland Islands, the other South Atlantic Islands and Antarctica, Argentina would agree to pay all its debts and fines right away. Honest.

Could you explain how it is that Argentina has the support of the world's people? Do you mean that in a disagreement between the USA and Argentina, the majority of the world would come out in favour of Argentina? Is this because you believe the USA is out of favour with the majority of the world, or that Argenina is, in their own right, in favour with the majority of the world or both?

What tangible evidence do you have to support your belief?

Further to that, could there be any chance that the US is taking this decisive action more readily because of the treatment Argentina is dishing up to the UK/ Falklands? Just a thought.

Perhaps that meeting between David and Obama
    Has born fruit,

Interesting that the USA start this now,
As the Argies up the anti with the peaceful law abiding brits,
The Americans are upping the anti on the law breaking nation of CFK who thinks she can do what she wants to whom she wants, when she wants,

But now to understand that she is not above the law,
She is if fact going down , down, and down ,
    mm

    long live America,

So we can all agree that the US and UK (through the US) have had as a goal for the last 50 years world subjugation and opression to Anglosaxon supremacism (just like Italian supremacism [rome], Spanish supremacism, German supremacism, Japanese supremacism and Russian supremacism have gone by the dustbi of history), because that is what we are talking about... if the rest of the world doesn't do 100% what the US/UK want, they are savages, traitors, rogues, and uncivilized, and need to be punished.

Then you wonder why the world has it coming to you now :)

    How wonderful!

USA have acted at last and the Mad Bitch is beside herself: double bipolar medication for a few weeks I would imagine. At least she will have no trouble getting HER medication out of the Aduanas, unlike the rest of her 'countrymen'.

Let us hope that the next news is the freezing of the Argentinian / CFK clan assets worldwide, followed by redistribution to the members of the Paris Club and others who are owed money by this rogue state of wanabee gangsters.

    That really would be something.

    Very silly anti rhetoric.

Is it not factual true, that it is argentine [CFK] that threatens and abusing others to do her dirty work.

The main trouble with anties is that no matter what the good guys try to do, they can do nothing right in the eyes of anties.

I could care less about Argentina, got it? It is what it is, I don't care whether my country is big or small, powerful or not, all I care about is myself and what I do to be succesful. I don't have this obsession with being seen as “great” like you guys up north :)
