I can never understand why South Africa is part of that grouping. Did they just need a country beginning with 's' to make the acronym sound right?

Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa. What do these countries have in common. They're all controlled by an obscenely wealthy tiny minority, whilst the vast majority of their populations live and toil in abject poverty.

“I can never understand why South Africa is part of that grouping. Did they just need a country beginning with 's' to make the acronym sound right?”

It's understandable that it puzzle's you, include many other people, why South Africa is the S for BRICS. The three main reasons (there are many more) that South Africa is in the group are: South Africa is considered the gateway for the business community to enter the African (Continent) business group, South Africa is considered the largest economie in continent Africa, and third the BRIC picked an African nation to make it look more representative from over the globe , Brazil (America/Latin, South America), China and India (Asia), Russia (Europe), and South-Africa (Africa).

What is possible in the main future is..BRIICSSS & MT...or SMIT & BRICS...something like that..South Korea, Mexico, Indonesia, Turkey & Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa.

“Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa. What do these countries have in common. They're all controlled by an obscenely wealthy tiny minority, whilst the vast majority of their populations live and toil in abject poverty.”

True and because they have that in common, they are also capable (with the will) to work together in that area to lower poverty by switching ideas with each other. Remember, those nations never talked to each other in the past, won't agree always with each other, but realize it is healthy to discuss each other's problem and switch ideas. What works in B. won't always work in C, but the point is, they can learn from each other (learning process) and it proves slowly that it increased trade. Brazil, of the BRICS group is the only nation where economic growth reduced poverty successfully, is now far more less unqueal than in the past, though they have long way to go. The so called elite realized and still realizes that a strong middle class is good for their pockets.

“@4 There is no A in BRIICSSS or MT ”
I didn't type that there is a BRIICSSS and MT.
I typed: what is possible in the future.....

@4 Oh yeah! And what works for Russia will stay Russian, the mafia will see to that.

The ruskies already taken London over with Lord Rotchilds. But yes, you're right, Russia is for Russia, similar with the Chinks and an old president of Brazil once said...something like this.....you can't trust the Chinks (neither the russians), but you must do business with them when it's possible.

“ there is no one taking about it, no news agency or whatever. why is it such a big news there ? ”

The lame mainstream media in Europe and the US ignore it (Except on Alternative Business news agencies you can find online) because they prefer keep us telling that everything is fine and that the banks need more of our money. It's to “scary” for us to let us know that those nations are working together to move the US dollar as the worlds reserve currency..(China slowly moves to gold back currency and is close to ready to open PAGE..Pan Asian Gold Exchange which is a threat to the City of London and Wallstreet (both in reality bankrupt...you can't continue print fiat money to hide it).
