I'm not even sure the Argentinians know they lost this war. They don't act like they know they lost it. Maybe they need a candle to tell them they lost it.

In complete contrast to the vile behaviour of the repulsive Malvinists, you never see Falkland Islanders spitting on and burning the Argentine flag, despite the fact they were invaded, abused, their lives destroyed, their islands and homes violated and such a mess was left that it's still being cleaned up today. Instead they light a candle of remembrance. Enough said.

@2 that in itself outlines the incompatible value systems between the Argentinians and the Islanders. The Islanders have decorum and restraint, the Argentinians have pure-hate, jealousy and machismo.

Quite so. The contrast in the the anniversary was marked in both countries couldn't have been starker. Mind you flag burning and embassy invasions are quite common in third world countries.

One countries head hurled abuse and burnt the British flag and the other showed empathy, respect and dignity.

The displays were markedly different and reflect the general day to day behavior of each nation.

A proper dignified way in which to remember the conflict.
