As part of an international collaboration between British Antarctic Survey (BAS) and the Netherlands Polar Programme (NPP), three new containerised laboratories arrived at Rothera Research Station in Antarctica earlier this week, according to a news story posted yesterday on the BAS website: http://www.antarctica.ac.uk. Seems that Argentina's “two-continent” claim rests on their assuming they have some sort of historical and political “rights” that Britain doesn't have: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/0b/Antarctic_Region.png

Seems to be something dreamed up by Peronists eager to boost their nationalistic land-and-ocean grabbing, as their total territory grab beyond their real South America continent boundaries are much larger than Argentina itself: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/0b/Antarctic_Region.png
