Disclaimer & comment rulesHmmm... aside from the Royal Navy's Gibraltar squadron (consisting of two motor launches and a handful of rigid inflatable boats), Gibraltar has no garrison aside from this regiment... SO WHO'S DEFENDING IT NOW FOR CHRIST'S SAKE????!!!!!
Apr 17th, 2012 - 08:46 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I know it isn't exactly a war-zone, but British Overseas Territories cannot be left defenceless like this. They should at least rotate another unit in to fill their place whilst they perform their palatial duties...
Why, do you think Argentinia will start something?
Apr 17th, 2012 - 08:51 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Armed RGs outside Her Majesty's properties in London? Surely some mistake?

Apr 18th, 2012 - 04:05 am - Link - Report abuse 0Love the feathers in their hats!
What feathers are they? Turkey or chicken?
Apr 18th, 2012 - 04:42 am - Link - Report abuse 0That uniform looks as if it's been borrowed from Elstree Studios or wherever the indoor scenes from Zulu were filled. Let's hope we don't hear the order Fire at Will now that Flt Lt Wales RAF has demilitarised the South Atlantic by returning home.

Do RG's send troops to Spain to parade, what with spain being the mother country?? WHAT shes done what???? nationalised the oil company...no dont believe it. Spain were RG's only friend in europe!!! except Germany i suppose, though most German immigration to RG land happened in 1945, and most from stations near Auchwitz and Belsen i should imagine.
Apr 18th, 2012 - 12:26 pm - Link - Report abuse 0don´t worry Spain will not invade Gibraltar!! but keep an eye out for Argentine trouble makers!!
Apr 18th, 2012 - 12:31 pm - Link - Report abuse 0@13 argie troublemakers? Easily seen off. We'll send a couple of troops of Boy Scouts to piss on them!
Apr 18th, 2012 - 01:13 pm - Link - Report abuse 0@14 - bit harsh on them Argies, sending the Boy Scouts, what about a troop of Brownies?

Apr 18th, 2012 - 03:05 pm - Link - Report abuse 0There would be no need for Spain to invade Gibraltar. If they asked their residents who live near the peninsula and worlk in Gibraltar you would most likely find that they are happy with the current situation. The Spanish however are not happy with what has happened to YPF.
8 KFC de Pollo Yes, by the way those feather hat guys are the same regiment that defeated the British twice, 1806/1807 :-))
Apr 18th, 2012 - 06:36 pm - Link - Report abuse 017 - Did the feathered ones fight in 1982??? or have they been resting for over 200 years. Probably helping with the murdering of 30,000 plus of your own countrymen.
Apr 18th, 2012 - 08:17 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Argie Sunshine - Think the RG's now have their new distraction from economic collapse, a clever move pick on Spain. Rg land looks a great bet for foreign investment now, best move Reichmistress ever did, calssic move.
@17 Marcos,
Apr 18th, 2012 - 08:49 pm - Link - Report abuse 0One of you RG heroes told us that the winners of that little engagement were civilians, including women & black slaves who fired down from the rooftops.
Make your mind up.
Which was it, Marcos?
The citizens of BsAs or the nancyboys in their feathered hats?

The wind has changed direction,
Argentine sunshine is now on a different tack.
that defeated the British twice, 1806/1807 :-))
Apr 18th, 2012 - 11:02 pm - Link - Report abuse 0they did not defeat the british,
fact are fact .
@17 actually i think you'll find it was the local population not some idiots dressed up with feathers in their caps.
Apr 18th, 2012 - 11:33 pm - Link - Report abuse 021 - You mean the native population that doesnt exist anymore. Did they all move away, or were they ethnically cleansed. Probably the British to blame for that as well, or someone else apart from the brave RG's.
Apr 19th, 2012 - 07:25 am - Link - Report abuse 0What a complete waste of money.
Apr 20th, 2012 - 09:32 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I wonder how many hangers on will be over on a shopping trip.
i'm surprised they could find enough upgraded soldiers to mount guard at the palace with the amount that are sick, lame and lazy in this regiment.
