    It's now requirement for any foreign government dealing with Argentina to affirm their support for Argentina's claim on the Falklands.

    Only after this statement has been made will Argentina leave it's bedroom and come down to sit at the table with adults.

    Is this a case of the Argentinian tail trying to wag the Brazilian dog as they tried to do recently in Cartagena with the whole of North and South America and the Caribbean.They were very successful there I notice. The Repsol case(which is just the start of the expropriations) is wonderful for Argentina's image and financial credibility.The lunatics are well and truly in charge of the Argie asylum.It is good for a laugh though !

    ”the Peace and Cooperation Zone in the South Atlantic, (Zopacas)” which of course include Brazilian Nuclear-powered Nuclear-capable Submarines.

    And what's this about the Argies buying a whole new set of Exocets to launch at Spanish and British/FIG vessels? I hope the French tell them a resounding no.

    Good old peaceful Argentina is at it again trying to militarise the region and upgrade Exocet missiles.

    Damn those warmongers.

    Luckily the Type 45 can eat Exocet for breakfast....

    This morning's first ironic smile came from reading that the topic of military colonies in Antarctica came up. Now, this is the Defence Ministers talking not the Science and Technology ministers. The whiff of hypocrisy again.

    The second one came from reading that there was a push for delivery of armoured vehicles for use on UN ops. From my own experience, I interpret that to mean that Argentina has made payments up front and desperately wants to get the vehicles into UN missions so that UN money contributing nations (guess who) can start paying for them.

    Sends a clear message to the UK that we need to militarise the South Atlantic to counter the increasing threat from Argentina. Also a “joint defence” initiative, which means that the RG's are hell bent on sucking as many SA countries into a military expedition as possible.

    Still they wont get the Falklands.

    Still, got nothing to worry about unless their defence budget suddenly jumps up.

    “We are completely against the militarisation of the Falkland Islands by the UK as this means we can't invade like we did before”. It'll be interesting to see how much money they have left for defence after they pay the Spanish back. Aren't the Brazillians supposed to be buying loads of UK military kit?

    @10 Yep, we Brits are so far “gone” that you argies are scared sh*teless of 4 aircraft and 1 destroyer. How are you going to feel when another 60 aircraft and 3 more destroyers turn up? And do watch out for what's under the waves. Hope you realise that the Royal Navy can actually surround you. Your Atlantic seaboard is no problem. Tomahawk cruise missiles can also be launched from the Pacific. Flying over the Andes is no problem!

    Brazil bought 3 OPVs from BAE which were originally for Trinidad and Tobago. (I think there might be 5 license builts in Brazil too but im not 100% on that)

    They've also been offered to be part of the T26 frigate program, it must be being considered because as far as i know the French or Italians have been plugging the FREMM but it's not been accepted by Brazil, my guess is Brazil is waiting to see the final T26 design before making a decision.

    The policy of waiting also falls hand in hand with other programs as I think they're building some nuclear subs (the number i cannot remember) and other dealings in regards to a future native aircraft carrier to replace Sao Paulo.

    @16, 17 Anytime you like we can improve on “million dead” by adding a bunch of queer south americans. Got a really, really deep hole so you can reappear later and whitter on about 41 million dead? You should feel free to die any time!

    No anger. And certainly no “fear”. But we are prepared to take account of the possibility that there may be 40 or 50 argies worth saving. No females of course and certainly no males with working genitalia. Wouldn't want any reproduction of hereditary psychotic, thieving, mendacious psychotics. Too much danger of letting them get into the human gene pool.

    I think the Brits need to understand why the term 'Pirats' is so popular in LatAm and Spain.

    Pirates were considered to have no rights to live if caught. They were routinely executed in various ways around the world when they first became a real problem to the west (UK and Spain).

    Santa Anna declared the defenders at the Alamo to be 'Pirats' for exactly this reason.

    Makes sense when you think about Malv / Pratt-Junta and the rest of the idiotic bunch of Malvanistas.

    @17

    It seems a reccuring trend of Malvinistas to confuse the term “anger” with “amusement + smugness”

    As for fear, why on earth would any country be afraid of Argentina?

    It's pretty funny when Malvinistas kid themselves into thinking Argenina is somehow an intimidating world power.

    You can build as much kit as you want. It's how you operate it that counts. The US and UK nuclear boats, have spent the past six decades, training and practicing how to hunt and kill other boats. They have practiced hunting each beneath all of the oceans of the world and have become very good at it. Having nuclear boats and knowing how to use them are two entirely different things.

    The Argentinian miltary have consistently forgotten that point:

    1) putting 18 yo conscripts into the Falklands (there are no Malvinas) without training and expecting them to tackle 3 Para - madness;
    2) using the fully automatic version of the FAL in the abject hope that once the trigger is pulled someone will be shot / killed. Never in a million years - ask the yanks;
    3) 'technicians' (what a joke) wiring the torpedo tubes up in reverse while 'servicing' the TR1700 subs for use against the Falklands. This resulted in the gyros running up in reverse (DC motors), which when the topedo exited the tube and the gimbals were unlocked the gyros inverted and sent the topedo the wrong way, ha, ha, ha.

    You could not make this up - what a bunch of twats.

    @26 I know it's difficult but the 'strong message to the UK on the Falklands/Malvinas issue' is “We are a joke. In the near future, we will be a broke, destitute joke. In the slightly longer term, we will be a broke, destitute, dead joke.” The important thing for all responsible people and governments to do when these things happen is...NOTHING! The world will be incredibly better off without argies and argieland. REMEMBER THIS! Both Germany and Japan had to be destroyed and made to start again. But they were intelligent compared to argieland. Is it not the case that Germany and Japan were defeated in war, accepted it and changed their ways? And argieland was defeated in war. Result? Same old crap. One way or another they have to be ground into the dirt and, although it seems impracticable, re-educated into being people. They cannot be allowed to reamin in their current territory. They will only brainwash themselves again. An argie diaspora. On average, no more than 210,000 argies per “other country”. Following their own example, any excess argies should be tossed out of suitable aircraft. Another good idea would be to use aircraft and ships being utilised to transport relocating argies as targets for anti-aircraft, air-to-air and anti-ship missiles as well as torpedos. Wonder how many countries would say “Not you, loser!”

    I have a theory.

    Argentina know they will never gain sovereignty of the FI through diplomacy / negotiation, they don't have much of a case, leaving many in the world to question where the sabre rattling and their policy towards the FI, will get them, even Argentina's own academics.

    To me it looks like there was an agreement between the then Brazilian and Argentine leaders, a few years ago, when Argentina changed their policy towards the FI and pulled out of the joint fisheries and oil deals.

    Probable plan... if Argentina can invade and retake the FI, Brazil would warn Britain they would fight on Argentina's side, against any British expeditionary force, should the UK send one. Argentina just needed to sabre rattle to gain regional support and to try and justify their actions to the world. This also explains Brazil's recent interest in the South Atlantic and ambitious military and submarine program.

    I'm sure the UK Govt. suspect this is a possibility, hence why the FI are well defended.

    Brazil is pivotal in the whole scenario.

    Anyway just a theory and I hope I am wrong. But Argentina under the crazy CFK have already shown they will take what is not theirs.

    We hate to say it but
    Minister Amorim, is a fool,
    CFK will do anything to get others to do her dirty work,
    And if, brazil is foolish enough and stupid enough, to fall behind Argentina and prepares for military action,
    Then the out come would be disastrous for brazil,
    And Argentina would just sit back and say, it wasn’t my fault,
    A greater agenda, could be, that if Brazil loses everything it has built up in south America, WHO stands to gain, from her downfall, [CFK perhaps]

    Cannot South America see that this woman will sacrifices everybody, and everyone, in her obsession with the British Falklands,
    This makes her a very dangerous woman indeed.

    Brazil has substantial offshore oil + gas reserves and this is one driving force in advancing their naval power to protect these assets.

    Also, being a developing economic power they naturally wish to expand their military and rather than simply buying in ships or whatever, to get an industrial experience buildup in the country and to become less dependent on foreign suppliers they wish to develop their own advanced naval systems (nuclear subs, aircraft carriers and so on). Nuclear powered subs being particularly useful as their range + endurance substantially increases.

    The defence industry is worth billions, so it's the smart thing to do - when your econemy is as promising as Brazils - to try get your own national defence industry developing and sell a few items here and there. I expect Brazilian defence projects will draw a fair amount of attention from other SA countries.

    Whilst Brazil may be pivotal, they will not go to war over the Falklands, they're too smart for that.

    Unless Argentina increases its defence budget (which is set to reach 1.5% of GDP in 2015 i think) then there won't be anything to worry about. All the while the carriers creep closer + more Astutes come online.

    A fully functional, capable and experienced navy doesn't just appear out of thin air. Not to mention the second Argentina gets ANY sort of specialised amphibious assault gear then every move they make will be scrutinised.
