Apr 18th, 2012 - 04:06 am - Link - Report abuse 0All British soldiers have been identified, to my knowledge, and all Argentinian soldiers were offered to the Galtieri government to be repatriated but they refused saying that they were already on Argentinian soil. They could have retrieved their lost sons at anytime they liked, it's their own fault and no-one else's that this has not happened yet, it's a shame the families believe the alternative history that CFK is spinning.
Apr 18th, 2012 - 05:14 am - Link - Report abuse 0Have things got so bad that we can only communicate viathe Red Cross now or does the CFK notrealise that our 2 countries have exchanged ambassadors.
Apr 18th, 2012 - 06:37 am - Link - Report abuse 0When the Brits get the request they should refer itback to the FIG, they are the best placed to assist the Argentine government.
every mother has the inalienable right to worship his son ?????
Apr 18th, 2012 - 06:46 am - Link - Report abuse 0I always thought that ol' KFC looked a suspect and here is the proof!!! the She is actually a He!!!!!
Well, well, well....You can fool some of the people all of the time, but............
It is I am afraid just another propaganda exercise. The Argentine govt. could at any time arrange repatriation of their fallen soldiers but choose not to, in pursuit of their ludicrous view that the Falklands somehow belong to them. But I do feel sorry for the deluded relatives of the dead who are told this falsehood about the Falklands being Argentine territory. The only claim the Argentine gov. has to the Falklands are the lies they print in their schoolbooks.
Apr 18th, 2012 - 07:15 am - Link - Report abuse 0Mr Giminez would have liked his son to have been buried in his home town, but Argentina refused to repatriate the bodies of the War Dead, since according to them, they are buried on Argentine territory, i.e. The Malvinas. Whether it may now prove possible for other relatives to visit the Argentinian burial ground remains to be seen, but previous attempts have foundered over Argentina’s refusal to accept conditions and wording which it says imply recognition of British rule. In a correspondence I have had with an Argentine member of Rotary International, he has asked me if the Belgrano Action Group could ask the British Red Cross International to contact it’s namesake in Argentina and so pressure could be brought to alter that wording and make it acceptable?
Apr 18th, 2012 - 07:21 am - Link - Report abuse 0No problem with this. I'm sure that the FIG can sort this out with the RG's.
Apr 18th, 2012 - 07:55 am - Link - Report abuse 0CFK can't have her cake and eat it too! There is only one solution to this - repatriation of all war dead to Argentina. This is what Falkland Islanders wished for at the end of the war, but the incumbent Arg Govt at the time denied this, and successive Arg Govts, including Alfonsin, refused to take forward timely initiatives to heal deep wounds NoK now suffer from. Repatriation is a one-stop shop, satisfying all parties, at least those who need closure. CFK would be wise to understand that Falkland Islanders will not contemplate any consideration of any request from her and especially tinkering at the Arg cemetery. She'd be wise to climb back into her box.
Apr 18th, 2012 - 09:11 am - Link - Report abuse 0@8 She only goes into her box when the sun comes up, and then gets out again when the sun goes down.
Apr 18th, 2012 - 09:54 am - Link - Report abuse 0This is just typical of the Argentinians, just making demands ... demands ... demands. The families of the war dead, make demands, and they have absolutely no consideration whatsoever for the people who are involved on the other side of the coin. They're pathologically incapable of understanding that they caused a war, lost a war, and don't understand the consequences of their actions. It's a cognitive problem that seems to be ingrained in their genetic code.
It's hard to trust a group of people who are pathologically incapable of empathy nor sympathy.
I say again, this isnt about identifying the argentine bodies, but to take the opportunity to fabricate evidence for the pending war crime accusation against the UK, i would like to think That the Falklands government already have contemplated this and handle this robustly.
Apr 18th, 2012 - 10:58 am - Link - Report abuse 0Burial at Sea, no bodies no issue.
lf they want to start fooling around with dead bodies, send them back to Argentina BUT do NOT let the Argentines have anything to do with the repatriation.
Apr 18th, 2012 - 11:50 am - Link - Report abuse 0Their ONLY involvement should be to issue receipts when the bodies have been returned to Argentina.
l do not trust them, not to try something.
Sad little people, aren't they?
Were this a humanitarian issue it could be dealt with on that basis, but it is clearly just another piece of political gesturing. If any of the Argentine authorities were remotely interested in the emotions and wishes of the families of the war dead they would enable the repatriation of the bodies. If they had an ounce of humanity they would set aside their foolish pride and contact the Falklands Government. But they will not.
Apr 18th, 2012 - 11:50 am - Link - Report abuse 0Playing politics with the war dead is despicable.
I have said stuff of this nature before. But then I wasn't aware that the argies were getting ready to manufacture evidence to bolster a war crimes accusation. So now the course of events should be (1) Dig 'em up. (2) Subject each set of remains to a full forensic examination, including external and radiographic photographic evidence. (3) Place remains in body bags. (4) Place body bags in plain sawn wood coffins. (5) Load coffins into a container. (6) Load container to a suitable, and suitably-flagged, vessel. (7) Sail for argieland. (8) On entry to legitimate argie waters, inform argie authorities of the cargo and of the repercussions if the argies refuse to let the vessel dock and have its cargo unloaded. (9) If the argie authorities refuse to allow the vessel to dock and/or have its cargo unloaded, jettison the cargo. Within legitimate argie waters. (10) Destroy the argie war cemetary on the Islands.
Apr 18th, 2012 - 12:42 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Make sure that the loading of the coffins to the container and all subsequent events takes place in front of the world's press so that additional video and still photographic evidence can be obtained and broadcast internationally.
It is quite sad how a leader of a modern 'democratic' country can stoop so low in an attempt to make political gain.
Apr 18th, 2012 - 03:07 pm - Link - Report abuse 0This subject realy makes me sick to my stomach, To think that people these play politics with the remains of the war dead. Surely the ICRC will take the attitude that the FI government offered to settle the question of identification three decades ago, by the willingness to repatriate the dead. I take the common sense view that, had they accepted repatriation, all this would have been resolved for the next of kin in the 1990's when DNA profiling became a viable science.
Apr 18th, 2012 - 03:16 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Can anyone answer this question, Are Argentinian next of kin banned, from privately repatriatng the remains of their loved ones, if they so wish.?
If that is the case, what kind of a government keeps relatives from obtaining closure on their grief? The kindest answer would be, a heartless one.”
Given that dead-bothering is an Argentinian national sport, I'd give them two options. Cross matching mitochondrial DNA with groups of individuals who think they have dead relatives shouldn't take too long and would be simple. Full autopsies would be a complex, painstaking and expensive activity which one would suggest would require that the bodies be repatriated to their own country in order to complete.
Apr 18th, 2012 - 03:28 pm - Link - Report abuse 0If they want the former, then no worries. If they want the latter then you can go do that at your own leisure in your own place.
That's how I'd
We could always ask the ICRC to repatriate the bodies of the Argentine soldiers, or the UN.
Apr 18th, 2012 - 03:31 pm - Link - Report abuse 0It's obvious that they should be sent back to Argentina, and in my opinion, they should have been sent back at the same time the Argentine PoWs were repatriated.
If Argentina refuse to accept them, then they get buried at sea, just off the Argentine coast, and as Conquerer said, with full world wide media coverage, and proper religious ceremony followed. The ICRC can take whatever DNA samples they wish and give it to the Argentine authorities.
I know that this would be hard on the relatives of the Argentine soldiers who died, but they would only have their own government to blame, who shamelessly use the deaths of their sons for political gain.
Problem solved.
@17 ICRC will probably reply 'weren't you asked to do this in 1982? and who is paying for this? we're not some kind of political pawn for you to use'
Apr 18th, 2012 - 03:46 pm - Link - Report abuse 0And the Brits ask themselves why the world hates them.

Does the Spanish mother country love the Argentinians?
@19 Yes, you're right... there is no difference between radicalised muslims desecrating war graves for fun and Christina Kirchener desecrating war graves for fun. Well done for pointing that one out.

Senior officials in the Argentine province of Buenos Aires say they believe two recent attacks on Jewish cemeteries were probably the work of former police officiers. The attacks which took place on Christmas Eve and New Years day, involved the desecration of about 50 graves and momuments.

A major Jewish cemetery was desecrated over the weekend, the third such attack in Argentina this year, raising fear among Jews and anger that the Government seems to be doing little to stop the anti-Semitic assaults.

Apr 18th, 2012 - 11:03 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I imagine its a very bad translation, the gender confusion and incongruous use of the word worship strikes me as babelfish or the like
Well you worship mrs Rubberface.
Apr 19th, 2012 - 07:39 am - Link - Report abuse 0l guess its your inalienable right! lol.
I only worship God, I'm not particularly religious but I do think its very wrong to worship people. Thats why I always use words like adore rather than idolise about Cristina, who is a person I support and admire and like very much, there is a difference =) Who is this rubberface though, you can't mean my beautiful Queen?

Her husband was not great, he was a bigger warmonger than she is.
He was also an idiot when he tore up the oil agreement.
Now Argentina gets nothing.
They may have put the Junta & its followers in jail, but they themselves want to force us to their will.
l didn't like him & l don't like her.
Your queen is a lying opportunist.
She lies to the UN or anyone who will listen about Argentina's ridiculous claims on our lslands.
She is looting Argentina's resources.
Who cares?
Empress Cristina, the (plastic-faced)Warmonger of the South Atlantic.
