“he first denied having received the letter, later not having read it and finally not in the date EU claimed which later also proved the minister wrong, plus some unnecessary comments he made all along the incident.” Lol God, he really is the Mr Bean of international politics.

Anyone read, or seen a dramatisation of the Robinson Crusoe story. I'm reminded of the parrot he had, he taught it to say, “Poor Robinson.” Perhaps someone could give Timmerman a parrot. I can see it now, perched on his shoulder, Calling out, “Poor Hugo, poor Hugo.” Still, at least he will be able to hold a conversation with an intellectual equal.

Timmerwoman clearly has an issue here.

“Timerman then blasts the EU for linking trade talks with Mercosur to the YPF expropriation thus hindering “a most ambitious global agreement in several fields”.” Okay, so he's upset about linking trade and what Arg considers a non-issue.

“The minister also criticized the “disregard” shown by the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Catherine Ashton, “who did not reply to any of the calls I made to her to discuss why the UK refused to comply with the UN resolutions on the Malvinas sovereignty issue”.” >>> so he's upset that the EU didn't want to link trade with what EU considers a non-issue.

Is he even capable of writing a diplomatic letter without contradicting himself? Like, seriously... what is that?

I'm glad I'm not an argtard.

He should be well used to people not returning his calls by now.

Really doesn’t like the “linking trade talks with Mercosur to the YPF expropriation”.

He has to deal with mercosur partners already upset about trade restrictions in mercosur, soon to be upset about Argentina being the problem in a trade deal with the EU.

A solution that us British would accept whole heartedly.

However, you are mistaken to think that the islands are taxed by London. The islanders tax goes to the islanders local government.

You are also mistaken to think that the only acceptable route is a republic. This is for the islanders to choose, not you or anyone else.

1- The way Mahammeds think is very interesting “we are are a nation of four countries. England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.Secondly.”

Contradictory since you desired to became “one nation UK” the rest become states or province, there are not at the moment countries called Scotland, Wales, England or NI any more.

2- People outside UK refer to Britain as English, Inglese, Ingleses, Angle, Engländer, etc. Because England is the only region that have international relevance and influence. The language is English, the political centre where decisions are made is in England, almost 90% of GDP is made in England, the financial centre is in England.

Scotland for example has not international recognition as a country, because fails to have full sovereignty over it territory (UK Parliament has). Has not embassies representing Scotland world wide, has not defence by their own. Is like to say that Catalonia (part of Spain) is a country or Bordeaux is a country or Lombardy is a country or Misiones (Arg prov) is a country.

As you can see, Scotland, nor Wales, nor Northern Ireland and not even England are independent countries any more.

And on YPF it is easy to increase production if you want to quickly deplete the reserves. Funny thing is though once you extract it is is gone. Most legitimate companies ( if the well is big enough) set up a 30 yr extractions process. But go ahead instead of having 5 yrs of reserves you'll have 3... good for you. Argentina's 'plans for farewell intercourse law so widows can have sex with DEAD husbands' branded a 'complete nonsense'
    By DAILY MAIL REPORTER
    PUBLISHED: 16:28 GMT, 27 April 2012

Alleged proposals to allow Argentine widows to legally have sex with their dead wives for up to six months after their death have been branded a 'complete nonsense'.
The controversial new 'farewell intercourse' law was claimed, in Argentine media, to be part of a raft of measures being introduced by the Peronist-dominated parliament.
Controversial: The 'farewell intercourse' law is 'a complete nonsense', according to sources

But sources inside the Argentinian Embassy in London have said the claims were 'completely false', and 'could never imagine it happening'.
The source said the proposal, if it even existed, had not reached the congress- although it was also admitted it could be the work of an extremist politician.
Although not officially rebutted, the claims that someone inside Argentina could introduce such a law provoked widespread skepticism.

China eyes Argentina's high-speed rail system

By Tim Sheehan / The Wall Street Journal
    Friday, Jan. 27, 2012 | 10:09 PM
In the 19th century, laborers from China helped build railroads.
In the 21st century, the Chinese may be again doing the same -- not for backbreaking labor, but with financial and technological muscle.
The People's Republic of China has more miles of track for high-speed trains than any country in the world, while Argentina has none. But the Chinese want in on the state's fledgling high-speed rail project. They're eager to help bankroll and build the system and, eventually, provide the trains to operate on the tracks.
China's with the newly created Argentina High-Speed Rail Authority to share information about high-speed rail -- and wants a piece of Argentina's business.
“Other countries want to be a part of this because they know high-speed rail can be profitable,” said Maximo Kirchner, the authority's deputy executive director. “Their ultimate interest is operating the system.”
But experts suggest that China's economic might -- and government-backed companies -- give it an advantage.
“China is cash-flush, and its highly subsidized industries are bankrolled with surplus government funds,” said Usha Haley, a professor of international business at Massey University in New Zealand and an expert on China's worldwide business strategies. “They're investing in infrastructure around the world ... and if they're bidding in an open-bid process, China will get that bid.”
Argentina expects to barter part of it’s newly nationalized petroleum of about $43 billion over the next decade to build the backbone of an 800-kilometer high-speed system linking the state's major cities..
It's too early to know what Chinese foreign investment might look like. Argentina is still forming its business plan for high-speed rail, and construction won't begin until mid- to late 2016 between Buenos Aires and San Juan. Test runs could begin as early as 2018.

@59 You dozy git. Can you not tell the difference? N-A-T-I-O-N. C-O-U-N-T-R-Y. England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales are all countries and nations. due to their differing ethnicities. Argieland, on the other hand, is barely a cuntry. Argies are best described as mongrels.

    2) during the hiatus that came with the thieving of the company production from the nodding donkeys would continue (if they are set correctly) and put into storage;
    3) once the numbnuts took over the company even they would twig that there must be oil waiting to be collected / despatched - HENCE THE 5% INCREASE.

Good grief, it is so easy to pull the wool over your eyes.

“Eager to remind Argentines of YPF's glory days before it was sold to private investors in the 1990s, the government has resurrected the company's old logo and moved quickly to boost production and seek out joint venture ...increased gas production 5% and oil production 0.7% since taking the reigns of the company.”

Is like to say that Catalonia (part of Spain) is a country

A lot of people in Catalonia would strongly disagree with you. Also most of the population of Euskadi. Which is known in Spain as “el pais Vasco”. And, as you should know, “pais” means “country”.

“A lot of people in Catalonia would strongly disagree with you”

They can disagree all they want but Catalonia is not a country nor even “el pais Vasco”.
They are “Autonomous Communities” like Argentinean provinces. They can create laws, have own security force, justice, educational system, taxation, even language if they want, flags, etc etc. but are part of integral indissoluble nation (Is in the Spanish constitution).
US states ( like California ) is another example. California is not a country is part of the country called United States of America.

AND as you know, I am retired and live in Uruguay.

The difference between us, apart from you are a liar and obfurscate the truth in any event is very simple: I have actually DONE the things I post about in my career as a professional electrical mechanical engineer (ingeniero profesional).

But, nevermind, time will tell that I am correct and that your information is wrong.

So does that mean that Argentina is not really a country, but a bit of state in a greater south America,

if not, how long will it be, before Argentina either becomes part of what CFK has been calling her back yard, or perhaps brazil will annexe Argentina,
    Or Chile may annexe Argentina,
Or Patagonia might take over Argentina, and declare for Britain.

possibilities are endless, and all those bulls, messing in the field,
Smells of roses does it not .

EFE April 28, 2012 After 46 years, the Argentine Army is still haunted by the controversy of a land dispute in Posadas – the tussle over the land with the Ossa family, in the north east border of the country with Paraguay, which started in 1966.
Some members from the family have appealed with President Cristina Fernandez to prevail on the authorities of the army to obey a court judgment that ordered it to release a parcel of land it illegally occupies in Posadas back to Paraguay where it belongs.
After many years of ignoring the judgment given by an Argentine court, members of the Ossa family staged a peaceful protest in Buenos Aires calling on all relevant stakeholders to plead with the Argentine Army to release the land to them.
In a letter of August, 2005, and signed by a Brig. General, Alonso Atafagatti, on behalf of the army staff, agreed to release some portions of the land back to the jurisdiction of Paraguay.
The Army, however, did not keep its promise because, to the amazement of the family, the land was not released to it.
Led by the affected family, a crowd of Paraguayans marched through major streets in Buenos Aires begging all well-meaning Argentineans to intervene on their behalf.
But, a new twist to the issue started when the family began fencing off the land measuring 14.264 hectares. Some soldiers from stormed the place and drove the owners of the land away.
Gen. Salazar, said through the Army Public Relations that the accusation by the family was misleading and malicious.
He said in a release signed by the Acting Assistant Director, Army, Public Relations, that the land is owned by the Argentinean army and is used for training and reserved for future use by the army.
“It is unrealistic for Argentina to recommend release of such land as it compromises security of officers, men and their families and military hardware located at the Paraguayan border, the army said.

Well it was not the places I went to, but it looks very nice, certainly better than anything Argentina has.

Of course there is one thing. The young Pakistanis who go there will have infinitely more intelligence and knowledge than you have.

THEY will probably understand blob technology, unlike yourself.

    @65 Only a partial answer but http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraq_oil#2009_Oil_services_contracts

Unfortunately for your point, it seems that a large part of Iraqi oil is not being handled by European companies. And that the Iraqi people are doing quite well out of it. The Afghan g/o industry seems to be shared between the Afghans and China. And the Libyans seem to be running their own oil industry.
Why don't you look these things up yourself?
