The remarkable recovery of the Falklands Islands from the 1982 invasion and the Islanders’ impressive achievements since have been given valuable publicity at a three-day conference at Kent University in the United Kingdom marking the 30th anniversary. It was attended by a distinguished group of academics, military commanders, journalists, and three former governors, Alan Huckle, David Tatham and Howard Pearce. Read full article

At least the islands are going forward whilst Argentina is going backwards.

Malvinero, care to give us some evidence of how the Islands are suffering as a result of CFK policies? - go on - list some for us?
May 01st, 2012 - 02:55 am - Link - Report abuse 0Ships go to and from S American ports and the Islands
Scheduled flights operate normally.
Charter flights have come in and gone recently from south american countries avoiding overflying Arg airtraffic control areas so you know nothing about them as there is no need for you to!
Royal Navy ships visit S American ports(OK I admit you pressed Peru into refusing) but they have recently visited Brazil-Uruguay-Chile Columbia.
Cruise ships operated normally all last summer.
Hydrocarbon Explorations offhore continue - and companies continue to raise money from share issues for further exploration.
A vast mass of International press and TV have visited and continue to visit the Islands - and now the world is learning that there are TWO sides to the story - not just the Argentine rhetoric!
And all this publicity worldwide has not cost us 1 dollar!! - CFK,s policies have caused 100% of it!! We say - Thankyou CFK!!!!
There - I have listed several or the normal relations that happen.
No please can you list some of the things that CFK has achieved that affect us practically and directly in a bad way?
If malv responds it will be the usual drivel! Anyway i believe he is in his back yard playing with the worms right now.

Pity, I didn't have you down as a sensitive soul but maybe I was wrong. Tell you what, You go get ready for bed and I read you a bedtime story, there's a lamb. It will be called Argentina trys to re-write world history and gets it's a*se kicked by the British
@12 Isn't that one of those Big Bad Wolf stories? Exemplified by the Big Bad argie Wolf who thought he could blow down a little Island. Unfortunately, the Big Bad argie Wolf tried climbing down the chimney and fell into the boiling British Forces cooking pot and got his ass cooked.
May 01st, 2012 - 01:13 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Conqueror- AA flights a dead duck. We are quite happy with current Lan flight and so are Lan. If CFK was serious then AA have to apply for permits and licences etc in the first place - not to London - but to the authosed authority (recognised by London)which happens to be: Falkland Islands Government Department of Civil Aviation - somehow I can not see that happening!!
May 01st, 2012 - 03:57 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Fisheries - our door is open if they want to come back - it would be good if they did. They were held apolitical anyway under the umbrella so would be just that- fisheries conservation - not politics- scientists etc from both sides getting together around a tavble for mutual benefit.
What does this have to do with Argentina?
