Truth_Telling_Troll is one of Tobias's other accounts.

And post 5 wasn't nice Tobias.

As for the subject in hand, its rather obvious the AD-Shares are going to be de-listed given the history USA has with Argentina not paying its debts and the fact the Argentine government is incapable of following rules/laws, which will obviously dilute the value of YPF.

@5 - Well you clearly don't know me then do you! For all you know i could be black myself, i could donate a lot of money to womens charities that protect their rights both politically, in employment and other rights.

Now i admit am White but i know a lot of black people and they are no different to any white person i know and i treat them all with the same amount of respect and i do not differentiate or descrimnate against anyone based on their colour as regardless or colour or sex all men and women are equal (well except in intelligence when it comes to certain argentinians though thank god we have some intelligent ones like the 2 3rds that did not vote).

Now Tobias or truth_telling_troll. Would you like me to ask the editor of mercopress for your ip address so then i can issue legal documents to your ISP to get your name and address in which to issue a court summons on as a result of your libellous statement?

No didn't think so, so instead i'll just ask the editor to remove it.

Teaboy I don't think you understood his point, he wasn't saying you necessarily were for oppressing blacks today, just that those were the rules at one point so we should be careful of just relying on rules as opposed to morality; a point entirely relevant to YPF as the neoliberal lobby have passed many “rules” that privilege big business against the needs of ordinary people. But as the civil rights movement, the suffragettes and others have shown, rules can be changed...

  • Teaboy2

@13 oh i understand that, but there was no need to state it in such a matter of fact way. This statement alone “Teaboy is against women's suffrage, against blacks being free men, against children not being exploited, for dictatorial kings not answerable to parliaments” regards if who he/she meant it to come across as, implies, wrongly i add, that i am against such things.

End of the day he/she could have made their point without the need to include “Teaboy is against” part of their statement. As to the untrained mind that does not read between the lines it is wrongfully implying that i am against black/coloured people being free and against women having rights and etc, therefore implying i am racist and sexist, and so on, when i am none of those things.

Tobias probably need to rein in some of that student passion and ideology, and set it against some real-life experience. You cannot start a sentence with a definitive statement like 'Teaboy is against *insert offensive and unfounded accusation*' without consequence. Whatever his point is, making such libellous statements is at best immature; at worst it could land him in serious trouble.

Oooh I have an example of an Argentine actually apologising. I know, I know, but it is true. When Manchester City had their open-bus parade through Manchester to celebrate their Premiership League win it was marred by one incident. Tevez held up a distateful and utterly childish poster - it looked like he made it and wrote in crayon - disrespecting Alex Ferguson. Not one person at Man City or fan wanted to be associated with the stupid actions of Tevez and he quickly issued a full and unreserved apology admitting he was wrong.

Please, I am argentine and by default called scum, baby killer, nun-thrower, dead-beat, smelly, dumb, uneducated, poor, lazy, dishonorable, all the time here.

None of you ever denounce that right? Tells us everything about the honorability scale towards argentines you call dishonorable.

My example about Teaboy was not specific about HIM. He just happened to be the poster. I was just using him as an example.

The main point was is that I know realize why Europe has such a horrible history. They use the “rules” as a cover to justify not fighting for what is right or just (since most social progress was made in the Americas and then Europe caught on, from slavery ending, to the small person gaining farmland, to women's vote, to gay rights today).

@21 Not everyone calls you or all Argentines the names you just reeled out claiming to be a victim. Most people are critical of the Argentine government and they are fair game. Politicians should be criticised and held accountable, not just by the voting public of their country, and especially when their actions impact on other countries.

There is nothing wrong with your impassioned posts but there is a line it is probably best not to cross when directing comments at other posters. Other posters here do it and I slide over their subsquent posts as irrelevent. You make some good points at times. Just sayin'.

    @21

Not everyone? So that is the standard now? Not “everyone”?

    So just “most”?

I used an example that could have used a better redaction (a rarity in my case since I never complain about not being able to edit, I proofread my posts), and all of you go in berzerk mode.

Yet you all are QUITE OK with the indiscriminate derision and vituperation of argentines based on nationality. I face it on an hourly basis and have never seen ONE of you stand up against it.

Yes, I'm “claiming” victimhood now... So you are saying I'm a liar since a claim is not a fact by default. Fine, I'm a liar. Since you have no credibility with me, I'll move on.

I'm sorry, but that's why I don't respect many of you. Duplicity in how people handle the same exact situation for two different groups is something I really take a dim view on.

All that said, it is not a big issue. I don't take this place that seriously, I do like to put people in their place though when they are just spouting BS.

So tobias, you admit to being truth_telling_troll do you?

As for you saying your comments where not directed at me, well considering you specidfically stated “TEABOY IS AGAINST BLAH BLAH BLAH”. Then i find your excuse very hard to believe, and more likely to be damage limitation excercise. After all regardless as to whos post you were responding to, there was actually no need to refer to any poster as being this, that or the other. Simply pointing out what you stated i was against without mentioning names or referencing another poster would have got your message across just the same.

Now i admit i call some argentine posters idiots, fools, pathetic, childish but only when it is obvious to others that they are and when it is clear due. I do not ever recall seeing any islanders or non argentine post (at least not from the British side) call you baby killer any of the majority of the names you stated you get called. In fact, it is usually the argentine poster here calling us baby killers or our troops baby killers and some of the other names you stated you get called. And i agree that kind of sick name calling or insults is not needed regardless of whether your argentine or british.

The reason most poster do not reponse to other posters making such accusations or name calling is largely due to the poster it being aimed at not responding to them, or the fact that their protests largely land on deaf ears. In this case i stood up for myself and answered back and others are simply being supportive towards me, some out of sympathy or concern, others maybe because i raised my voice and struck back at your libellous accusation.

If you truely did not mean it then you would have apologies before now, when you first realised it had a different effect to what you had actually intended, the fact you have not apologised, shows that you clearly did mean what you said or that you to arrogant to to actually turn round and say sorry. As for slavery being banned, 1807 by britain

I lived in Argentina for ten years and worked with YPF for eight.

It was a good experience for a number of reasons. But I did come to the conclusion that the problem with Argentina is that it's filled with Argentinians. The adjectives I'd use to describe them after a good chunk of time there are....
Immature, Selfish, Dishonest, Unfriendly, Close-minded, and Arrogant.

They are constitutionally incapable of being honest, even with themselves. It's like a kind of genetic flaw or something.
And they break promises WHILE they are making them.
“See you on Tuesday.” = They won't show up at all and next time you see them they will have stupid, BS excuse they not even they believe.

They are not even big enough to know how small they are - and, so, of course, they think they are big.
Their psychotic arrogance knows no limits.
Personally, I think it has a lot to do with the fact that this is a matriarchal culture.
I don't know of one matriarchy in the world that is a success and no! that does not make me someone who hates women, on the contrary. You only need to hear women talk about women to know that.
The mother here doesn't love, she dominates and controls. Period.
She has no respect, no boundaries, no humility, and, above all, no conscience.
That's how each and every person here is socialized with those anti-values.
That being said, is it any surprise the country is the way it is?

What we need to do is eliminate Political Correctness so that some rugged criticism can return and the world is no longer held hostage by punks, screwballs and other sub-adults like the kind you find in Argentina and not just Argentina.

What does all of this have to do with YPF?

The day I met the Director of YPF he said to me in perfect English....

“Why are you here in Argentina?”
To which I replied (trying to be polite) “Why not?”
His answer, “Because we're Argentinians! We destroy things.”
I said, ”Well, you seem to be doing ok here (YPF).“
    ”Oh, we'll destroy this too.”

If I thought she'd do that to anyone I really wouldn't “love” her!

Interesting that that was your first reaction.

Not that what was said was devastatingly spot on.

But as far as being a big libel there are two parts to YPF - Upstream and Downstream.

Downstream alone has at least four plants in Argentina each one with a number of different Directors.
Director of Production, Maintenance and Engineering, etc.

I think the number is over 200.

    So, relax.

    No one was found out.

And, more to the point, the truth still stands.
