Argentina has a Jewish president for two days, Beatriz Rojkes
For the first time, Argentina has a Jewish president, at least temporarily. Beatriz Rojkes, the provisional president of the Argentine Senate, is in charge of the government for several days because both President Christina Fernandez and Vice-President Amado Boudou are overseas. Read full article

Disclaimer & comment rulesWell Cristina is still the President, this woman is just doing some duties while she's away; but its still a good antidote to the idea that Argentina is some kind of antisemitic or Nazi state. Would Hitler have sent for a Jew from the camps and made them acting fuhrer when he went abroad?!

Argentina closed its doors to jewish immigrants in 1938, it opened them several years later.
I don't know who this new lady is but she's bound to be better than Cristina...isn't she? surely?

Beatriz, a gaffe-prone politician known for accidentally voting in favor of creating a special bicameral committee to investigate Boudou (she was supposed to vote against it) was never even given a chance to speak, just in case she accidentally declared war with the UK. I’m telling you, you can’t even make this whole thing up. It’s like living in an endless sitcom.
