As the Falkland Islands commemorates the 30th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Falkland Islands, a seventh generation Islander explains the significance of Liberation Day to the people of the Falklands. Read full article
The events of tonight just reinforce the fact that this tiny population are basically fighting against a whole continent on the premis of a lie by a banana republic, run by the mad hatter.
Never have I been so much in support of the Falklanders after tonight.
the way that the whole of SA ganged up to lob the boot in on a tiny population of 3k will not be forgotten by those who witnessed it.
Fido dido, And your german president speaks constant shit, and pretty soon we'll own you the way plastic face is going about things, why can't you just leave these people in peace, CFK is now pushing the boundarys and might not like what will happen next.
@3 The Queen does not interfere with their law making and the way the Islanders are allowed to run the Islands. The British Royal family stopped being feudal years ago you berk, after the institution called parliament was invented (hundreds of years ago) and in the Falkland Islands its called the Legislative Council. So no the Falkland Islanders own themselves.
They had and still have no other choice, you moron. Allegiance to the queen is Allegiance to a psycho who owns the peasants on a piece of land.
your german president speaks constant shit
Slattzzz, imbecile, CFK is German? Whatever you smoke, it's trully crap.
I don't give a F about CFK. The argies can vote her out if they want. And fyi, where I'm from, Holland is a kingdom, yess, also German ties and I personally don't give a damn sinds it's an old, outdated feudel system. I wish Holland becomes a Republic!
The most rational thing for the Kelpers is to go ahead and carry on with their referendum. Mrs. Fernandez used the Falklands issue just to cover the ongoing economic fiasco Argentina is experiencing at this point in time. Celebrations are officially over, so it is time to move on and make the islands a prosperous place to live.
This is very funny UK politicians bring some Islanders to show to Argentina that they exist but they rested standing up behind without saying any word. It not that very silly?
Mickey Summers also forgot to mention them if wouldn’t be for the remind of the UK puppet ambassador
I would have some questions for them especially for the 2 girls behind Mickey moustache Summers. Ha ha
The Cestrian @ 2
I very much support self-determination by the Falklanders. However, your statement that all South America ganged up on them in 1982 is historically inaccurate. I suggest you read up on the subject before making such statements. You probably think you're awfully clever, but you are in fact just an embarrassment for the Falklands' cause. Shame on you.

MALVINAS ARGENTINAS!
DOwn with the squatters,pirates robbers!
Mal: if you aren't here to listen to or even consider other people's points, never mind make any logical or clear ones yourself, why are you even on these boards? What's your point?
Haven't you worked it out? He is on the same payroll as CFK.
The British FCO are paying Argentine to drum the Malvinas Issue, but to make the Argentine case look as utterly stupid as possible.
CFK got an extra $30USD (a small fortune in Argentina) for coming up with the Birds migrating argument last night. The $50 bonus for I planted a turnip in 1832 was a joy to behold.
malviner01 gets $0.05 (an average argentine weekly salary) for each post he makes here. If he throws in UK is finished, pirate pigs it goes up to $0.06.
All a conspiracy by the British to ensure the Argie case looks pathetic and is ridiculed by all but the Cubans, Venezuala and Syria (I mean, getting them together to support Argentina must have cost William Hague a few $$$).
@13 Good to see you're so sanguine. What you don't seem to understand is the REAL reality. Yeah, you got another draft resolution passed by a bunch of sycophants. So? The REAL reality is that the Falkland Islands are still there and still BRITISH! The Islanders carry on with their lives with an economy that, comparably, makes most South American economies look like dog turd. So, yes, 3,000 plus Islanders are facing a whole continent. AND WINNING!

ACCEPT THE FACTS. THE UK PM HAS THE CHOICE TO BREAK IMMEDIATELY THE UK DIPLOMATIC MISSION IN MY COUNTRY ARGENTINA, WHAT HE IS WAITING FOR?....
LAS SUECAS ISOLDE SKARE AND YNSERE DON'T DARE TO RESPOND...
Argentina Remember 14TH JUNE 1982 LIBERATION DAY OF THE FALKLAND ISLANDS FROM ARGENTINA! 30 YEARS ON WE CAN STILL DO IT AGAIN! JUST GIVE'S US A CALL WE WILL BE WAITING ANYTIME!
Don't worry Falklands, OAS also includes Canada and US, lots of ranting and raving south of the Rio Grande but absolutely no will or loyalty to do anything concrete, let them rant.
Pirates give back the Malvinas Islands now!!!!! They belong to Argentina!!!!!!!!! All the world know that the Malvinas Islands were stolen by these british pirates. It is not possible to maintain this colony in the XXI century. Nobody believe in these pirate´s lies. Pirates: Go back to your country with your ridiculous war vessels. UK is the country with the worst antecedents in the world as a consequence of a lot of territories stolen to different countries. Everybody knows that Self determination doesn´t apply in this case because the few people who live in the Islands were implanted by the same country which stole them to Argentina a lot of years ago. In addition UK imposed a very restrictive inmigration policy with the only objetive of maintaining these few people which were implanted which are living there. Everything described before to maintain this false argument of self-determination.
@25hipolyte
I read Article 1(2) of The United Nations Charter agian, just to be sure and sorry, no matter how hard I looked, I could not find the sub paragraph giving listing exceptions to the right. Would you be so kind to tell me where in the Charter I can find them. Thank you ever so much, your so kind. In anticipation, Byeee!
@25
The British claim on the Islands dates from 1765, not from 1833.
Self-determination applies to all peoples-that's what it says in the UN charter. Nowhere in the United Nations Charter, does it say that' self-determination applies to all peoples except the Falkland Islanders.'
If you can quote something that opposes this please do.
#25 : What is now Argentina belonged to native americans 'till your ancestors pitched up and stole the country from them , so you are residing on stolen land .
You are still exploiting native americans to this day , paying slave wages to Bolivian , Peruvian and Paraguayan migrants in Buenos Aires whilst at the same time constantly being racist about them .
Hypocritical racists , the lot of you . No wonder the rest of Latin America cannot stand you .

Jun 15th, 2012 - 09:57 pm - Link - Report abuse 0As you know I live in Uruguay, and proud to say so.
Please explain to me WHAT Uruguay did to help the British Taskforce in 1982?
Standing to one side while a gang of thugs rapes a young woman has never been considered anything else but HELPING THEM. Guilty by association.
The reason I came to Uruguay was because things had changed since then.
