  • The Chilean perspective

China is a very important and reliable parter for Chile. Our relationship is going from success to greater success. To illustrate the importance of this partnership our bilateral trade is US$ 30 billion and is projected to grow to $60 billion within 3 years. In comparison Argentina and Brazil have a bilateral trade of US$ 39 billion and shrinking. China & Chile have an open, free trade. Brazil & Argentina not only have a myriad of taxes, tariffs, and quotas, but they continue to sandbag and erect all manner of barriers to trade. Which will only lead to a slowing in trade between the two.
