The leading member from Brazil’s main opposition political party described Uruguay’s claim that consensus was absent in the Mercosur decision to suspend Paraguay and to incorporate Venezuela as “extremely serious” and complained Mercosur has become a merely “ideological” grouping. Read full article

Jul 03rd, 2012 - 06:28 am - Link - Report abuse 0So when the opposition hindered Venezuela from joining for 5 years, it was not a political decision, merely economical? Mayhap Paraguay thought that keeping Venezuela out of Mercosur would make Mercosur stronger, economically speaking?

I remember reading from Mr FHC..I'm worried about the future of the toucans. Translation, they're lost, cause everything they want, the other party is doing.
Jul 03rd, 2012 - 06:41 am - Link - Report abuse 0Brazilian government has thrown overboard “the long diplomatic tradition of the country based on Article 4 of the federal constitution that establishes international relations must be based on fundamental principles such as the self determination and non intervention”.
Jul 03rd, 2012 - 08:05 am - Link - Report abuse 0That's a shame.
Yes, I agree.
Jul 03rd, 2012 - 09:58 am - Link - Report abuse 0Brasil has nothing to be proud of here.
Dilma has shown her other face.
Have we invaded Paraguay, bombed its people and dumped depleted uranium like Britain did to Iraq? No? Who's denying Paraguay's sovereignty and self-determination, then? Mercosur is a multilateral tool and it has clauses of its own -- a democratic one. Paraguay was suspended not because of an innovation of Brazil's foreign policy but because it was in violation of it.

Jul 03rd, 2012 - 12:24 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Oh, so naive.
I bet he would like to do the same to Dilma as happened to Lugo but can't because she's too strong. Brilliantly put at #1, Paraguay's elite have been holding Mercosur back economically for years by refusing to let Venezuela in for ideological reasons, now they've overstretched and begun to lose everything

Jul 03rd, 2012 - 02:09 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Certainly this was never part of the UK constitution.
(Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, etc, etc, etc, etc).
So I guess Brazil has de-evolved down to the level of the UK diplomatically.
10 I think your find we don't have a constitution. Not in the Amercian (US) style anyway.

@Geoff
Please illuminate me as to how applying a clause that has existed in Mercosur's 20 years of history, one that Paraguay has possibly accepted from the bloc's inception, a violation of the country's sovereignty.
@12 WE have over 1000 years of constitutional law and precedent. On which the U.S. Constitution is based. Got anything like that, diddums?

If he's naive, you're a hypocrite (as usual), because what NATO (Mainly the US and the UK) did in Libya and is trying hard in Syria by using the rebels (we all know who they are) is more shameful, but of course for Geoff it's all fine.
Bloody devil sympathiser .
Look in the mirror briton and you see who the real devil sypathiser is. Look at your own problems in your shity island that's drowning in debt and where more people suffer than ever. Perhaps you need more austeriy measures to face reality. I don't wish anybody this, but oh boy that will come.

Jul 03rd, 2012 - 08:18 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I thought what was commited to the past was in the past. In other words, the crimes of Britain (or X country in Europe), cannot be the sins of the current living Europeans. So why are you taking credit for these 1000 years of glorious law? (which I don't assume as true btw, I'm merely using this to fulfill my logic). So indeed, you blast me continually for rehashing the past wrongs but you yourself find no problem doing the same excercise when it is time to distend your jingo.
You can't take credit for that. No sins no glory then.
1000 years of constitutional law? I thought you didn't have a constitution (see above).
2012, what you done for me lately? Not much.

A JOKE
Fido walking down the path, and falls over, breaks his leg, and is in great pain,
Along comes Briton, just walking past,
Fido, shouts -Briton Briton, call me a ambulance,
Briton looks at him quite puzzled,
For fxck sake Briton are you deaf, call me a ambulance, im in pain,
Ok OK said Briton, if you insist, but are you sure you want me to call you a ambulance,
Yes please Briton,
Ok.
Fido is an ambulance, fido is an ambulance,
Then promptly walks on by.
Hey may not be funny, but we do try
@24 You don't get it, do you? I'm not surprised. Are you a thick dago or a thick wop? Or possibly a thick, criminal kraut? Did I take credit? I think not. I made a statement about the constitutional status of the United Kingdom. Far more usable and flexible than any S. Am. gangster law. When did you start using logic? Only your distorted, self-serving version. Who denies the rights of Britain and the Falkland Islanders? Only you and your fellow slag gangsters.
Jul 03rd, 2012 - 08:48 pm - Link - Report abuse 0WE'll take credit for whatever WE choose. And note the number of countries (including yours) that have tried to follow our example.
You can't read, can you? Or are just a TURNIP-shaped gob of illiterate, uneducated, brain-dead horsesh*t? Or perhaps whoresh*t?
WE're letting you live, aren't WE? Quite willing to stop letting you live!

Jul 03rd, 2012 - 08:56 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Hey you oily-faced Britto,
Kraut, wop, dago, britto, frog, whatever. I'm not any of them, thankfully.
You are taking credit by virtue of using what you assume a virtue to derade others. Like for example, south American gangsters. Gangsters and looting pirates would seem to get along just find I venture.
Argentina has never followed your example, we have always been the most rabid anti-monarch in the Americas. Even Mexico and Brazil were monarchies AFTER their independence, and Canada and the other anglo-children still keep her as head of state. The USA didn't do squat to find royal powers in the Americas. We did, Spanish, French, and British.
You coudn't destroy 0.1% of the surface area of Argentina even if you used up all your arsenal. Sorry, you are a harmless britto.
so the trolling complainer is up and about.

Why do you live in the USA if you hate it so much????
@27 Touched a few nerves, did we? You should know about pirates. Wasn't the first person you sent to the Falklands a pirate? You remember, David Jewett, pirate. Then there was the other one. Luis Vernet, pirate. Certainly a criminal. But then, a lot of what comes out of S. Am. is criminal. I should know. I've put enough of it behind bars.
Jul 04th, 2012 - 04:53 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Strangely, I didn't mention monarchy, or royalty. Showing that you can't distinguish between a head of state and a constitution. And allocating you to your proper place in the scale of intelligence - moron.
