Disclaimer & comment rulesIf the Paraguyan ruling class think they can keep the landless down forever and deprive them of all hope, which is what they admit this rushed power grab was all about, then I predict they will reap the whirlwind. Shame on all those who support landlesness and backwardness and the forces of oligarchy on here and dare to call it democracy

Keep the poor poorer, and then pay them to vote for you. The perfect socialist model. You must be in heaven thinking about it.
By the way, if Venezula invades Paraguay, what will Brazil do? Nothing, or bitch slap Venezula back into oblivion.
You're beloved CFK is probably hoping Argentina get a slice of Paraguay if she supports Venezula, but that colonialism for you.

Jul 04th, 2012 - 06:36 am - Link - Report abuse 0For 180 years the elite has been ruling whole of South America, including with force when the whole continent wanted them out in the 60's.
Look where they brought us.

So Venezuela is invited to join Mercosur by everyone but Paraguay meanwhile Venezuela is trying to get the Paraguayan military to make a coup d'etat against the democratic governments of Paraguay!
Jul 04th, 2012 - 03:11 pm - Link - Report abuse 0At the same time that Venezuela is fomenting a military coup in Paraguay, Brasil forces the democratically elected Paraguayan government to hurry through the impeachment of Lugo.
This is the ultimate in machiavellian baroque politics.
No wonder a lot of the South American governments are in such disarray.
They can't stop themselves interfering in each other's countries.
I just hope Chile continues to keep the Andes and Atacama between us and these problems...although Piñera has not been doing much to distance himself from it all...which is worrying.
