Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez said he had talked with his peer from Brazil Dilma Rousseff who confirmed the invitation to an extraordinary meeting of Mercosur next July 31 in Rio do Janeiro. Read full article
Inclusion of Venezuela will be ILLEGAL and ILLEGITIMATE. What is the real attraction of Venezuela? Chavez has virtually destroyed its economy. CFK is trying to do the same to argieland. Presumably on the basis that peasants (the poor) can't fight back. Mujica is a cypher. A frightened, senile old man. Is Rousseff acting intelligently or being held back by wiser heads?
Chavez´s going to invite Dilma and Cristina to join him at his great Aló Presidente shows! They will talk for hours, days and the whole audience will be dressed in red, only red, and they will applaud endlessly.
#1 You may be right, on the other hand when Chavez comes off the immune supercharger which is the steroids he is taking (and he WILL be off them soon) then he will have another problem altogether.
#3 He's taking the piss!
Disaster coming closer for your 'queen' though with all the self-inflicted wounds fast becoming fatal (politically speaking).
We have to be clear that the only potential enemies we may have at present are the USA, Britain, and their possible allies. Taking advantage of the removal of Paraguay for the inclusion of Venezuela - was a master-move! Col. ret. Gelio Fregapani, until 2008, Brazil's Director of Combined Intelligence in the Amazon-area states. Published in DEFESANET and his own blog ARCO DE FRONTEIRAS. --- Brazil military and nationalist-conservatives do not subscribe to the socio-economic policies of Venezuala's government - but they see an armed and independent Venezuela as the first line of defense for a potential problem with the U.S. and NATO - in future times. Brazil former Defense Minister Nelson Jobim (a conservative) to other defense ministers in South America in 2011: Our subcontinent will be threated over our resources during the next FIFTY years. We need a dissuasive capacity against threats from outside our sub-continent! --------------------------------------------------- With other words - the struggle to keep the U.S. and NATO out of South America and out of the South Atlantic - is a generational struggle which will stretch beyond our time. It is possible that the U.S. may have serious domestic problems after 2016 - due to unsolvable socio-economic differences in U.S. society. Remember, on the ship Aurora started the revolution by sailors in Russia 1917. Perhaps the operation by Bat-Man in Aurora/Colorado/USA 2012 - will be seen by future historians as signifcant signal that pointed at future events!
@13 That's not nice. My mother died several years ago in a care home that was very expensive. Nor, as a law enforcement officer, was I ever a sissy. I'm happy that I managed to put an adequate number of latinos from LatAm behind bars during my career. Do you need to believe that everyone is a motherless, illegitimate, time-wasting s.o.b. such as yourself in order to justify your use of precious oxygen?
@14 Is that supposed to be a serious comment? Did you read that Brazil has a defence agreement with Britain? Let's be quite clear. If the U.S.A. decided to go south, there is nothing in LatAm to stop it. Just for a start, the US armed forces could put 3,522 ground attack and combat aircraft in the air. I'll leave you to go through the armed forces of the LatAm countries and work out how many similar aircraft they could deploy. Helicopters and UAVs are not counted. Want to go on to naval forces? There are currently 11 aircraft carriers, 22 cruisers, 61 destroyers, 29 frigates, 2 littoral combat ships, 9 amphibious assault ships, 2 amphibious command ships, 9 amphibious transport docks, 12 dock landing ships, 53 attack submarines, 14 ballistic missile submarines, 4 guided missile submarines, 14 mine countermeasures ships, 11 patrol boats. The US Army has a total strength of 1,129,283 personnel together with their equipment and then you can add the 240,827 of the US Marines and their equipment. I reckon that, unless it was being nice, the US could roll over LatAm without breaking step. And have enough capability left to tell China and Russia to keep their noses out! Add in NATO forces and it could be all over in a week. There is no struggle to keep the US and NATO out of South America. For the most part, neither want to be in South America. Leave our territories alone and we'll leave you alone. And try reality!
14. Wow lots of words that I think were meant to be serious but come on! You are not a very good study of current events or history for that matter.
I hear we are looking at ramping up our Base in Paraguay. I'm sure with the horrible and illegal treatment by Brazil and Argentina they're looking for a little safety of having a large US Base intheir territory, good for the economy and great for their own defense. Think of how quick we could bomb BA if we wanted. Would that be less than 10min by air? Think CFK could scramble the crop dusters in time?
Bahahaha

24. Nobody takes economic or political opinions of maids and/or gardeners seriously. How do you garden when there is barely 3 months of summer in Canada do you shovel snow in the other months? Maybe you are a maid and you're inside all the time, does your boss let you use their internet on your breaks?
#26 I am surprised to hear you have to remind yourself things like that. Most people think for themselves when it come to politics or economics. Gladly my company pays for Internet for us to use all the time, not just on breaks but 24/7 fortunately for them I only use the one I pay for at home, Imagine that?? Besides I couldn't be bothered with Internet at lunch when there is a buffet being served. You are talking to the wrong man and providing useless advise. Can you say k viva Chaves?

.... is Chavez and Bolivarism a bogeyman or a real madness, a real threat to the advancement of the Continent?
The Mercosur has become a big circus already thanks to Chavez, who manipulated Cristina and Dilma to get in. Brazil has legitimized another banana republic dictatorship.
I still can't fathom why the Brazilians and Uruguayans wanted Venezuela to join. What do they possibly hope to gain from it?
I can only assume it's something to do with Venezuelan oil production as there is no sense inviting the village idiot to join if he brings nothing to the table.
@16 Might be. What's your excuse? Just thick?
@21 I don't think you really understand. What we really want you to do is die. But being kindly and considerate people who find it difficult to believe that there aren't 5 or 6 argies who might be worth saving. Therefore we proffer our hard-won knowledge and experience. Can't make you take it so we comfort ourselves with the thought that, when you've turned yourself into another Zimbabwe, we can laugh uncontrollably whilst trying to get out the words Told you so!
@27 Then you seem to be home a lot. How much is your company paying you for your one hour working day?
@28 Modern English, sometimes described as the first global lingua franca, is the dominant language or in some instances even the required international language of communications, science, information technology, business, seafaring, aviation, entertainment, radio and diplomacy. So, if you have no interest, you are obviously one of the intellectually sub-normal. But then we knew that!
@31 What a pity he's going to Brazil. If he was staying in Venezuela, we could have had some Royal Navy vessels fire an appropriate salute. We could send HMS Diamond, HMS Triumph and HMS Vengeance. Boom, boom, boom!
@32 If you check out events, I think you'll find Uruguay was against it. Unfortunately, when it came to the moment, Pepe the Plonker had to have discussions with the Wicked Witch of the South and Dilma the Guerrilla.

@42 ChrisRepulsive
No, I am not.
ConQUEEEEEEEERRRR is the one that is abusing these viewers with mental cruelty always talking about killing. He is liable for such behavior!
Perhaps if you left the UK and its legitimate interests alone, we would leave you alone. The UK has better things to do with its time than plot Argentina's downfall - it is doing that quite nicely without our help.
#34 I work 5 days a week 9hr per day at 28$/hr, half of those hours there is nothing to do so I blogs from my own phone because the company Internet is slow, as you can see I don't need anything from others, my work day is worth 250$ after taxes, employment insurance, RRSP, pension and union fees. But we should be talking about Chavez and how glad we southamerican are for the integration of Venezuela to mercosur this move was long over due, since it was clear that Paraguay was acting against the unification of mercosur and interfering with the progress of the boock, Paraguay should be allowed back without voting power and as a observer rather then a voting member while we let Venezuela vote to see if Paraguay can ever comeback.
No I am actually getting payed for being away from home, I would rather be home but since I get payed to sit and wait, that is exactly what I do, while I read and support southamerica. Venezuela is a great country and we are all very supportive of mercosur acceptance of Venezuela as permanent member.
Re. Chavez: I can't kick his balls off. He doesn't have any! Conqueror (#9)
Not sure about this. There is no reported change in the timbre of his voice, so it is likely that his abdominal cancers have not, so far, extended to his testicles. Agree with #10, his immune compromise could be significant.
I'm pretty sure that Chavez wants his Last Picture Show to be Bolivarian, totally public, and with pathos and displays of grief across South America.
Rice/Lloyd Webber could make a musical of it.
Oh Boy
“What I love about Dany is that when you mock him he comes back with a comment that makes no sense whatsoever.”
Is not that, simply the guy is an amateur looking for some clients to sell his lame reports.
Claiming to be a specialist on SA affairs specially Argentina when none have ever seen him.
Who pays him Otto Reich?
@ yankeeboy
Again Yankee bobo the jealous idiot strikes again...
The CEO of YPF “Miguel Galluccio” is an Argentine petroleum engineer and his former job was in Schlumberger Limited the largest oilfield services company in the world as director of Production Management. A division created by him self that provided the high S&D tech for industries in Houston Texas, Mexico (Pemex), Repsol, BP, etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schlumberger
And we confirm with Chavez that the path to the integration of Venezuela as a full member is clear for the progress of mercosur into a better and more united block. We also will like to thank Film for setting differences aside to unite our block and better exploit our resources. We invite all none mercosur members to keep their irrelevant comments to themselves. thank you in advance.

Jul 23rd, 2012 - 08:30 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Perhaps if you left the UK and its legitimate interests alone, we would leave you alone.
Jul 24th, 2012 - 03:16 pm - Link - Report abuse 0so half the time, you are earning something for nothing,
Jul 24th, 2012 - 04:25 pm - Link - Report abuse 0you should give back half of your wages,
if you was honest .
No I am actually getting payed for being away from home, I would rather be home but since I get payed to sit and wait, that is exactly what I do, while I read and support southamerica. Venezuela is a great country and we are all very supportive of mercosur acceptance of Venezuela as permanent member.

Jul 25th, 2012 - 09:01 am - Link - Report abuse 0Not sure about this.
