Thus demonstrating that the suspension of Paraguay by mercosur was simply a convenient stratagem to get Venezuela in. I guess Paraguay will be out of mercosur forever now. Surely, if it was to go back, it would object to Venezuela's membership. And hasn't it already said it will be looking to the new Pacific Alliance?

#1 Only if you think they're all out of step bar the OAS! I have a more plausible explanation; US puppet OAS supports coup regime - deja vu anyone???

The other members of the OAS are looking to form clsoer ties with Paraguay when it leaves Mercsour later this year over that fact that its so called allies refuse to support heir constitutinal right to impeach their own politicians.

Mercosur have disregarded and broken signed and ratified international agreements. The inclusion of Venezula is ilegal under Mercosur law. I see Paraguay leaving Mercosur and forming closer ties with Chile, Peru, EU and USA. The latters support they will probably obtained by allowing the US to build a milatry and air base in Paraguay along with insurnaces that they will defend Paraguay rights against its bully neighbours.

There is nothing that Paraguay produces (outside some minerals) that are of economic interest to Chile, Peru, EU, USA. Paraguay lives from soy - which it only can ship via Brazil's harbours. Paraguay gets its oil from Venezuela. There is not cargo route from Paraguay to the Pacific Coast. After 2014 Chile will again have a center-left goverment, possibly a return of Dr. Michelle Bachelet. Peru will never become a reliably permanent “partner” of the U.S. - because a major portion of its economic partnership is with Asia. Remember Velasco Alvarado - men like him will always return Peru to its national sovereignity. After the dust settles - the oligarchy in Paraguay will settle for a return to “normal” relations with the only neighbours they will always have: Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia.
