Great. Now most business contracts and transaction agreements affecting companies, holdings and assets in Venezuelan soil nowadays have to include a whole series of specific clauses and binding obligations specifying proceedings in case the lunatic leader in power decides to nationalize the company, the holding or its assets.

Now that Chavez is Mercosur, Is it going to be the same case and are we going to have to include all those stupid clauses in any business contract or agreement effective in any region of Mercosur?

Perhaps, though, the Sao Paulo chamber of commerce will fight tooth and nail against any interference in their trading processes that might come from VE.

Even the UK had 'interim arrangements' for fish, sugar , bananas, etc when it entered the EEC (=EU), so we should expect no less for VE,

but the key to Mercosur's success will be
    (i) to tighten up the trading protocols to international standard, and
(ii) to eliminate the 200-300 'exclusions' where high barriers exist within Mercosur, especially between *Argentina*, Brasil and the rest.

I hope than in future the english from Falklands learn about ours languages (portuguese and spanish) for we can do trade and tourism. Falklands belongs to South América and alone dont have future. INTEGRATION without fears. Peace for all!

One cannot predict the future, with any certainty,

But it would be fair to say,
They WILL reap what they sow,

Just wait and see, for one thing is certain,

They have made there bed now,

Allow them the pleasure of sleeping in it .

And allow us, the privilege to watch.

[and the little one said, roll over roll over ??

“ Falklands belongs to South América and alone dont have future. INTEGRATION without fears. ” Brasileiro (#5)

Can, and should, a country 'belong' to a continent?
Is Israel in Asia? Does it 'belong' to Asia?
Which continent does Turkey 'belong' to?
Does a country 'belong' to a continent, or continents 'belong' to a country? ... like the USA and the Americas ;-)

Should a small country 'belong' to its larger immediate neighbour?
Like TFI and Argentina, like New Zealand and Australia, like Canada and the USA, like the UK and France.
The logic of this is that only one country would exist .... idealists would say this is a good thing, though most would say it is a recipe for chaos.

Central thesis falls at the first hurdle, Basileiro.

Falklands belongs to South America in as much as Alaska and Hawaii belongs to Asia. Has Argentina really been crying for almost 200 yeras and only once during the junta try to reclaim? Go back in your cave and rethink your logic........proximity does not make one a terrority.

#1 lol no if it seems complicated and unprofitable why even bother, I in the other hand am more optimistic about it and believe that Mercosur will gain a lot by following Venezuela's policies.
#2 you are welcome to move to Europe or north America if they give you a visa we are free to do as we wish in Latin america, no body will stop you. I just feel sad that Because you can't afford it you are reduced to sit here and complain to our leaders for your poverty. Good luck to poor you.
#3 the key to mercosur progress will come from each member rights to self determination and the right of each member to dictate policies that helps themselves protect their local economy against world economic eminent collapse.
#5 some people don't know how to play in teams.
    #6 Que Vivan!!
#8, that sounds like a child molester recollection of his last victim. #9 doesn't it??
#10 brasilero is right and pirates are always wrong, illegal occupations by a british firm and their slaves is not somethings that we can consider a country. I own property in Canada can I make it part of Argentina???? Lol pathetic.
#11 but an h-bomb could clean up our territory, time is king of all and slave to none. Will you Remind us again of that kingdom that lasted for ever, 'NOT' Lol
We latin Americans will like to thank Dilma and Chavez for making mercosur a economic power house, EVERYONE else who is not latin Americans are welcome to
Take their advise and apply in their own nations, thanks!! but no thanks!!!

With Chavez welcomed by CFK it reminds me of an old Scottish proverb

“If you sup with the Devil, use a long spoon ”
