    52% though, especially when most wages have only gone up by about 28%, most be devastating on the average Argentine household.

    @3 Have you lived in Argentina? Have you seen your weekly food shop take up more and more of your income? If no you have absoutly no crediability on this subject. It is easy for your argument to comprise of a statement discrediting the article without providing any evidence to the contary. But common sense and law sees your statements as having no legal basis or preventing no legitamate challenge.

    From my own bank statements over the past 12 months living here I can believe that food prices are 30-50% higher, I am spending more weekly and getting less.

    If you can present some evidence to justify your statements I will reconsider my opionion but until then do me the courtesy of keeping your uneducated, uninformed and therefore pointless comments to your self.

    Funny your reserch and sources dont confirm that his figures on inflation are wrong though do they? Only that he is to the right of Christina and hungry for political power. of course to you and your fellow Socillists these are both crimes when they get in the way of your imaginary and unworkable soccialist model.

    I would guess as a supporter of CFK the majority of the people you speak to Argebtina are also CFK supporters and as such not exacly provide a wide enougth data field on which to comment on inflation. For example does your data field include people outide of BSAS, (inflation in the provinces is far higher, as we dont enjoy the same level of federal subsidies).

    I suggets you make part of your reserch to visit a supermarket now and again in 12 months time and compare actual prices on the shelf., rather than reading the figures released by the offical sources.

    Enginner......BK lives his life and forms his opinions via vicarious means. If you've read any of his ramblings, one would think he actually believes that Argentina is the promised and and CFK is on the verge of sainthood.
    Though I do not profess to have lived there, I visit twice a year, my spouse is a natural citizen and her family is still living there. MAybe he should take a stroll through Villa 31 coming into the city of Buenos Aires......maybe he will get a taste of CFK.

    @5 “Your own research”? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Do you know how to “research” the mathematical expression “2+2 = ”?
    “Talking to argies”? How did you manage that? Not in Britain. If you could find one in a month of search, you'd be lucky. “People who have lived there”. What, 20 years ago? Go into a pub and call for them, do you? Or are you in argieland where you can find the people who will say what you want them to say for a couple of pesos? Ever tried for honesty or credibility? Thought not! A useless propagandist with no concept of honesty, honour or truth!

    B-K has researched life in Argentina through contact with La Cámpora.

    Just out of interest supermarket prices at our local supermarkets, there are two of them in our town, have risen just over 4% in the last month. It is possible that part of that rise is due to seasonal price differencials, but these usually are fairly insignificant (e.g. 0.02%).

    Anyway that would account for Moyano's calculations. There are consumer groups here that keep track of prices at local retailers constantly who agree pretty well with the CGT estimate on inflation.

    The truth is that inflation is making inroads on our fixed incomes, at the moment it is not desperate for people like me, but for the really poor it is already hurting very much indeed, and self proclaimed socialists like B-K should be calling on the MBOA to do something about it rather than saying how marvellous she is!!!!

    If you do the inflation calculation x to the power y (same as compound interest where y is 100 plus rate per month divided by 100 to the 12th power) the inflation rate per annum based on 4% per month works out at 60% per annum

    @7 Captain Poppy
    I have mentioned many times that my 2 countries: the USA and Argentina are having serious difficult economic times.
    When the economy will improve in the USA?... No one knows.
    The USA national deficit of $15 trillion dollars increasing every day is not a good sign about my county, theUSA, is doing well.
    When the USA will pay such astronomically debt? = ?........The USA is paying only the interest on such foreign debt.
    When the economy will improve in Argentina?...No one knows.
    But, everyone in Argentina including myself have learned to follow austerity, and try to get a second job if is possible.
    I am prepared already for another recession in the USA after the next 11/06/12 presidential election.
    On about January 3, 2013 the the USA Congress budget cuts starts reducing $billons of dollars for all US departments such as Defense, Education, Transportation and social services such as the goverment healthcare known as medicare and the goverment social security retirement.
    Last year the US goverment only approve a 3.6% increase for the US senior citizens to receive on January 2012 after waiting almost 3 years without any cost of living allowance.
    My advise is to follow austerity.
    By the way, responding your question about where I am from in Argentina...
    I was born in Comodoro Rivadavia, Chubut, and have family also in Santa Cruz.

    All that from my short statement? Yes thge USA has problem but peel incomparison to Argentina's. The debt is staggering in the USA and is because of the polarization in American politics. The annual inflation rate for 2011 was 3.16 so in real dollars they still moved ahead.
    The USA is in a much beter seat to move ahead then Argentina is.......as for the debt, untill the USA defaults.......

    I am planning to move to Buenos Aires around 1/2013.
    I don't know why you keep saying I am not a resident of the USA.
    Any one who ignores the bad economic times the US citizens are suffering is because you have a job and have not suffered unemployment for the last 4 years of the Obama administration.
    Can you understand about the unemployment amount of 24 millons US citizens without work, 46 millons receiving goverment assistance to buy food and 26 millons citizens living below poverty levels.
    The bad taste is from you that don't like to accept the fact that the bad economy in Argentina and the USA will take years to improve, like it or not!

    @EnginnerAbroad

    Food prices have increased all over the world and more especially in US and UK the former is the country with more price increase among EU partners. Rising prices 3 times faster than in other nations.

    Food prices in Britain are rising three times faster than G7 nations
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1364428/Food-prices-Britain-rising-times-faster-G7-nations.html

    Food prices rise by a quarter during recession
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1364428/Food-prices-Britain-rising-times-faster-G7-nations.html

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1364428/Food-prices-Britain-rising-times-faster-G7-nations.html

    But “Inflation” the word used in the article involves a basket of several products not only food.

    Of course for someone that is living with a very low income, food become a large part of his/her budget.

    But why food is increasing in a world in recession?
    The answer is so easy, after the credit crunch in US, UK and Europe greedy investors liquid in USD started to buy “futures” in commodities, oil, gold, etc. So that way they make a lot of profit speculating over food prices, oil and whatever the can speculate.

    The reasoning is quite simple people even in the worse recession have to eat what guarantee them huge sale of “future contracts”.

    Here you have the prices that the central market in Great Buenos Aires sales to the public.
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1364428/Food-prices-Britain-rising-times-faster-G7-nations.html
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1364428/Food-prices-Britain-rising-times-faster-G7-nations.html

    Little corner vegetable & fruit shops even less than that price the minimum margin for the business is 100% over the price sold to them in the market.

    So the more expensive apple that anyone can buys in the central market at $4.66 ends up in the shop and supermarkets in a range of $10 to $15 depending of your area.

    @Captain Poppy

    While no American denies that the USA is in tough economics times, certainly nothing like Argentinas. While economic output is minimal 1.6 etc, inflation is in check.
    As for foodstamps, the usa has always been too generous with and whom they allow to get assistance, as it is often determine by the state. One of the problems many natural Americans feel is that we create too many problems that creates life long dependency.
    And for the record I've been downsized twice since 2008 and been out of work for a total of 14 months between the two. And Arizonia is the hardest hit area because of the housing greed there. The east coast is the place to be in the USA. The USA economy will ONLY turn around when housing has bottomed out.
    You are aware that the poverty level is about 21,000 a year for a family of four 26 million out of 316.....we can devout a entire blog for that Sussie.

    @34

    The USA is not alone. Britain has gone down the same path of subsidising wasters who have never had a job in their life.

    One of our friends in England has a daught aged 34. She deliberately got herself pregnant to get away from her parents: not 'sure' who the father is. Got married to a loser (also on benefits) had another baby. Her husband left her and she got a 17 YO lad in next, another baby, he left her.

    At 34 she looks 50 YO and no one else is interested!

    However, a letter from the government stating she needed to get retrained or her benefits would cease, soon got her into the programme. Guess what? She loves going to work and having her own money, BUT, she moans at all the tax she has to pay until I reminded her that she was now paying for the wasters like she used to be.

    Our friends are lovely people and were ashamed of their daughter and her behaviour: their other daughter is a lecturer at a university.

    We have a wasted generation in the UK with the present one going that way as well because of the lack of job opportunities and taking useless degrees at university instead of getting a vocational career such as a plumber, hairdresser, etc.

    The reality is NOBODY wants products manufactured in Argentina. The quality of Argentine produced products is laughable. The appliances both small and large last about 3 months until they break down. Cheap, shoddy materials, and the designs look like things that I found in my grandmothers basement in 1960. So if you like cheap, retro imitations that don't funcion and need to be constantly fixed, then go for the Argie junk. The factory workers work about 5 hours per day, for inflated salaries, and if their boss asks them to do anything they complain to the union shop steward, who files a lawsuit or calls a strike against the factory owner. This is how Argentina works! It's the biggest failed experiment ever, called the “República Argentina” that is ruled by the criminal Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner (a/k/a scrotum neck) that has stolen BILLIONS of dollars from the Argentine people, tries everything in her power to squash her detractors, silence the press, opress the citizens, steal their money with extorsive and invented taxes, it's well known that she never even finished her law degree but says she is a a lawyer, her children the horribly ugly Florencia and pudgy fat Maximo have high ranking government positions but have never set foot in a university, a vice-president Amado Boudou who is a small time criminal mafioso who owns companies that he awards government contracts to for millions - Argentina is a bastion of modern day CORRUPTION - all countries should avoid doing business with Argentina like it was a PLAGUE - this Kirchner disaster cancer must be taken down and thrown to rot in jail forever along with her cronies - down with this PERONIST garbage who talk about “social justice” and are only interested in their own power and wealth and do NOTHING for the citizens of the country but steal their hard earned money and possessions and talk about how awesome they are. Cristina Kirchner even once said that “god wanted her to be president and rule Argentina”!

    “That is because you believe that the posters on here,yourself included,represent the best people from those countries.”

    Please O please tell me how your logic made this deduction? I can't prove anything to the likes of you and your kind because you believe nothing that comes out of the USA....government or private sectors.

    You know nothing of what I believe or support. If you feel that a few responses to statements on this blog represents ones depth, your shallower than the vitriolic insults you hurl at anyone that refutes your POV.

    for your campaign spending research. I believe my EXACT word was “political freedom”.

    51# Poppy it seems like you might get frustrated when someone doesn't accept what you say.You also are arrogant enough to think evidence you supply to sustain your claims is always enough.I suggest you keep an open mind to a greater extent as you do not supply too much evidence.
    You are not as assured in your prejudice views as yankeeboy,but nevertheless,neither are you correct to assume that if I don't agree with you(and your evidence),that the problem is me and not your lack of independant evidence.
    Your exact words were political and freedom,,and I said that democracy and political freedom were two separate concept.Are you concerned that when I said freedom I didn't mean political freedom,or are you just being pickie?

    I'm OCD and picky. So contrast political freedom with democracy? At least for this frustrated and arrogant, lets not forget prejudice gringo. You still failed to explain how I “believe all posters are the best of their country”. And I wanted to next ask how do display “prejudice” but I've yet to get an answer to my first question.

    Depends on where you are and whether you are dealing in dollars or pesos. The better ones will only take dollars. In BA its going to cost you 200 pesos for straight missionary but a 50 dollar US bill will give you a night in the sack,(watch out for bedbugs and bring your own non-argentine condom. In Mar Del Plata and Villa Carlos Paz expect to pay about half. Now a blowjob in a dark alley will cost you about 5$US anywhere as well as a handjob but you can just walk away from these if the service is not to your liking. Twenty years ago you would get full service for fifty bucks and you would walk away happy, way too many Paraguayas now. As for gay prostitutes you will have to ask Pirat Hunter or Danny Berger, I'm sure they have the price list.
    Women in most of South America are pretty loose, just buy them c drink or two in a bar and they will let you do whatever you want.

    You just confirm me that you are from the peripheral countryside may be from England. New Castle perhaps?

    His English sucks and seems he had never attended any class in primary school.

    @Zhivago

    Dr. Zhivago is the typical shy ugly wanker guy or may be gay that has to pay for sex. Ha ha

    Seems he has the full price list of sex service including from Paraguayan. Ha ha

    A hand job?, who the fack pays for a hand job? Only an idiot.

    I guess the girls run away when he tries to practice his better lover speech . “Houla yo am from Gran Britain”

    And the girls get shocked and scared asking them self “what the fact the ugly idiot had say?”

    “just buy them c drink or two in a bar and they will let you do whatever you want”

    This just tell me that he has never parked his little one inch beam into any Argie girl's garage.

    The drink stuff only works in England try on Fridays in London “after office” they are so drunk that even the most ugly insect can procreate.

    #62 Danielle try this:

    http://translate.google.com/

    As you seem to get lost in translation. However realize that it is a literal translation......not content. Some people type and write well......like secretaries and some are more occupied than worrying about secretarial skills. And really, you can do better insults than that,or does it take that little an insult to boost your ego Danielle?

    #66 NYC is my birth city and family still lives there, most are police. Do you know she pays to have stores come to her hotel room for private shopping sprees? And of course with the amount she spends, no one in their right mind can refuse.
    Argentina will eventually be stuck with the Chineese sit for clothes or worse, clothing made internally.......yikes!

    Sure she spends on products of luxery as she restricts imports to her public. She is slowly breaking her people and eventually they will revolt and put a bullet through her face, unless she let's loose the Argentine militray on them. Quite frankly I see that happeneing as part of her obsure plan to destroy a once dominant nation.

    Men should know that women likes clothes, regardless of the economic status.
    Here in the USA, Mrs Obama, the wife of “food stamps” USA president has the same taste to spend thousands of dollars in clothes.
    Sometimes Michelle Obama buy her clothes from certain stores but most of her dresses are special designed clothes.
    By the way, in Michelle Obama case is very difficult to find the right style because Mrs. Obama does not have a perfect body. At 5'11'' and 205 lbs with extreme wide hips is very difficult to make her look good. No matter how much she spends on clothes she looks very ordinary. Mrs. Obama does not have a pretty face or perfect body.
    I have to say the argentine leader has good taste for clothes although I would like to see her wearing other colors instead of black.
