“ part of the economic problems faced by Argentina are an overvalued US dollar” should say undervalued US dollar or overvalued peso against the dollar, right?

Their economist never accepted it, and will never do it, but some countries in South America have been suffering from Dutch Disease, notably Brazil and Argentina, and Chile to a lesser degree, because they have concentrated their exports on natural resources and primary products (commodities) and have seen a decline in their manufacturing sector.

Wikipedia: ”Revenues from natural resources (or inflows of foreign aid) will make a given nation's currency stronger compared to that of other nations (manifest in an exchange rate), resulting in the nation's other exports becoming more expensive for other countries to buy, making the manufacturing sector less competitive.”

Which will come first; Peso 10/1 or Patacones? I am leaning towards Patacones maybe around the Christmas bonus time....

It's the correalation between the increase in the exploitation of natural resources and in impact to the decrease in manufacturing
