    I don't see how the Argentinians would re-elect CFK. They might like her but things aren't marvelous in Argentina at all these days.

    She'll go out saying she knows they all want her to be president again, and it was a deep honour, but her deep respect for the constitution prevents her from running again.

    But, she'll really be going because by 2015 nobody will want her anymore.

    Where can I sign a counter petition that demands she is re-re-elected? I'm not entirely sure that by 2015 she will have permanently damaged the economy enough so that it can't be undone within a generation.

    Dissapointed in Binner I must say, he really should be working with Cristina in a transversal project rather than co-ordinating with the right of the Peronist movement against her! Will have to see what Think thinks when he gets back... I imagine this campaign could have the opposite of the intended effect and galvanise Cristina and her supporters into a more determined campaign for a third term...

    A little off topic but surprisingly there aren't any Arg Economic articles today only Political scandals.
    So I just wanted to let everyone know this is quite a week (or 10 days) CFK has coming up. IMF will probably censure Arg which will limit any further U$ from WB IDB and Paris Club will demand a repayment schedule. I guess 10 years of no payments is quite enough.
    Funny little blub today in Lanacion, finally someone is saying out loud that BCRA is out of funds. As I have mentioned many times the fantasy u$45B they claim to have in “reserves” has been mostly replaced by illiquid Arg bonds that CFK has no intention of ever repaying.

    @ BK #5

    Why would CFK be re-elected again? I am curious why you think this?

    I asked this once before.

    What do you think have been some of President Kirchner's positive achievements in Argentina? Given the over-abundance of CFK criticism in these forums, you should defend her achievements.

    What do you consider have been positive actions by Kirchner for the good of Argentina?

    Hopefully somebody can explain this for me...?

    Why have a constitution that says you can only serve two terms, if you can then easily amend it to allow you to serve three terms (or more)?

    Surely the point of the constitution is to prevent abuse of power by limiting the number of terms that can be served by any one individual.... and surely extending the number of those terms is (to me) clearly contradictory to the entire purpose of the (existing) constitution?

    So if a constitution can so easily be re-written, what's the point of it in the first place?

    A constitution should be the bedrock of the society and be something exceptionally difficult to revise, the news here makes it sound more of a fait-accompli than a difficult task.

    Mr. British_Kirchnerist is “dissapointed” because there are people in Argentina that prefers to respect the law and the National Constitution instead of dreaming with fascist concept of having the “choosen” ruling the country for ever !!!

    Quite sad taking into account that the Argentine National Constitution was the seventh constitution officially recognized and agreed in the World, the second in the Americas and the first in Latin America.

    Instead of being proud of it, respect it and defend it the Peronist Party has always wanted to change it to have the “leader” perpetuated in power. 100% fascist !!!!

    Anbar that's an very good point. The constitution of any country should take a very long time to write and even a longer, arduous process to amend. While I am not suggesting that it be like the USA, it is quite a process.
    2/3's of congress need to approve a bill then forward it to ther Senate
    2/3 of the senates has to approve and then send it to the president
    (or a constitutional convention)
    If the president signs it, it is forwarded to all 50 governors to have elections....that can take years of debates. And then 3/4 of the states must ratify the constituition amendment.
    It sjould not be something so easily completed in a matter of months. It is not like any other law on the books.

    I'm sorry, I wasn't clear.

    I asked British Kirchnerist to specify Christina Kirchner's positive actions for the good of Argentina.

    Which good things has CFK done to warrant her being re-elected. To have the constitution changed to be re-elected, she must have a long list of achievements and listing one or two of those achievments should be easy.

    I am very curious to hear these. It would important for all of us here to know what they are. Please BK, could you answer.

    As BK will not answer you, I'll try:

    1) She and Nestor have ruined the economy.
    2) She has turned the country into a pariah state.
    3) She has riled all our neighbouring countries.
    4) She and Timerman have turned us into a global laughing stock.
    5) Since her husband came to power, the familly fortune has increased 1000%.
    6) She has destroyed the beef production.
    7) She has destroyed fruit production.
    8) She is in the midst of destroying grain and oil seed production.

    I guess that is enough to be going on with, as you can see the Argentine people really need to re-reelect this parasite!!!!!

    Argentina has become the top protectionist country in the World, has more international trade disputes running than any othe rcountry; has a currency that is sinking fast and will have to be devalued as Argentina is regarded as a pariah state by international money lenders. Has out of control inflation and its politicians are regarded internationally, as a joke.

    @ TipsyThink....what? In what country do you live in?

    Diminish foreign debts? Increasing national debt in more than U$D 25K million...another U$D 10K with Repsol under dispute.

    Argentina leads to morè works to morè production, had an effective respoñse to Global crisis? unemloyment fall to ~ 7 % around?
    In Argentina any person doing a paid activity is an employed person (no mather the conditions or if the employer doesn't respect any law) Informal job rate is 40% in poor provinces such as Corrientes. Even subsidized pleople are “employed” by the Government.

    BCRA rèserves up? the REAL reserves are rounding U$D 8,000 million. U$D 46K million is a fantasy (includes bonds and private deposites).

    éntered to G20? Argentina has already entered G20..soon going to be expelled

    Investments %6 of GDP,for Education? repeal of Federal Law of Education? Since Menem all schools are under each province responsibility and budget. The last test ranked the Argentine education at the very same levcel of the Bolivian one (ranked in the 10 th position in SA ).

    Manufacturers origin exporting exceeds the Agro origin exportings. All of them are paying infomal taxes since the government recognices a dolar at a rate of 4.60 pesos and they are paid in pesos. Dolars belong to CFK

    many roads? Have you been travelling mutch by car? I don't think so......

    125 % increase on pénsion to veterañs of the Malvinas War,.. THIS IS TRUE...the gorvernment gives pensions to any who wants one. No matter what he/she does or did? Thieves and convicts. Even foreign newcomers. All paid with the money of the retired people who receive peanuts after working the whole life !!!

    TG I'm living in Canada now. I wish the Royal Navy would shot a couple of misiles to CFK and free my Country and all of my relatives from her !!!!

    @23 tipsythink

    Thank you for your lists. Tipsy Think your list is exactly what I have asked of British Kirchnerist twice. His or her support for CFK is hollow. Thank you again for posting it. I knew CFK must have done a few things.

    @22 Captain Poppy
    “what makes you think she will not get re-elected”

    I never call these things correctly, but I say CFK goes out with a teary farewell speech about how touched she is by everyone's love for her but in the end she felt the constitution had to be respected because she is such a patriot.

    Consider this scenario:

    The constitution gets amended, Christina Kirchner runs for a historical third term, and, loses to another candidate. They changed the constitution for nothing. Would you laugh a little?

    It would be too embarassing I think. She might not want to risk this kind of final impression of the Kirchner family. There is no way a win would be a certain thing, not with her record. Running would be risky I am thinking.

    Considering the above lists of damages vs. accomplishments, no human being, with however a limited intellect, could choose such a leader again. It seems.

    I would be “astounded” if such a leader were elected again. Could she cheat to win? Could she buy her way back with big social programs? Hugo can but he has oil reserves even bigger than his mouth.

    27. I am not that familiar with the Arg constitution but what would happen if CFK gets a 3rd term and this time makes Maximo her VP then steps down? Is this possible?

    @28
    That could be!

    The goal of all this re-election talk might just be to position Máximo for the election. This seems much more feasible.

    She'll step down, and they'll say, “but don't worry, there will still be a Kirchner to lead you”. That might attract people. But by 2015 the name Kirchner might not be too attractive at all. Things could change though.

    The current constitution (modified by the Peronist government of Carlos Menem) allows amy president to get two running terms of 4 years. After two terms the same person cannot be Vice-President.

    The previous constitution allowed Presidents to be elected for just one term of 6 years. After it they were not able to be President or Vice-President.
    Tow different Presidents modified the National Constitutions to be re-elected..al of them belonged to the Peronist Party...because they are fascist !!! ..and they believe in “The Leader”..“Il Duce”..“Der Fuhrer”..

    I looked up the “G-20” on Wikipedia. There was a table of the different members. One column listed amount of international trade in 2011.

    The U.S. and Argentina were together in this table.

    The U.S. trade for 2011 was 3.82 trillion dollars.

    Argentina's trade in 2011 was 0.15 trillion dollars.

    @33

    “0.15” trillion would be 150 billion totall exchange in and out. Makes sense.... divide 3.82 trillion by 10 (to equate Argentina's population), and you get 382 billion. And in PPP terms (not dollar terms which only accounts for international cross purchasing power, not amount of goods and internal wealth), it the difference between 150 and 382 billion completely fits in with the fact that the rough estimate is that that incomes/living standards in the USA are 3 times higher than Argentina.

    I think it makes it more ridiculous that a county with 3.82 trillion in trade at one point in the depths of their economic meltdown had 5 billion left. No doubt this was not disclosed because it would have meant the end of the US dollar, so the lied about it.
