He he. I bet his daughter was proper pissed. Wouldn't it be easier if Argentina let all of her own citizens do as they please with their own money?

Economic liberty is the corner stone of freedom and democracy.

Let us hope that the people of Argentina now see they can change the way their government behaves. They should flex their muscles more often.

Wow, really? You guys at mercopress have nothing else to talk about?
Economic “liberty” as you call it is the main reason for the great gap between the rich and poor. Governments need to intervene and watch out for the people's best interests and for what's better for the country. Capitalism doesn't give a crap about any of this. Ask around in Spain.

    This is very, very funny.

So Tinman who obviously doesn't respect or follow the advice given by his dear government was found out and forced to have the celebrations in Buenos Aires.

The interesting thing here is the level of deceit of the Argentine government once more because if the public had not of found this out then it would of happened.

It's hardly surprising the country is in such a terrible state..............

  • ElaineB

Yeah, but but to give it its' full title, The London School of Economics and Political Science, it has an awesome reputation. It was always seen as a bit radical in the early days and even now courts controversy for inviting dubious speakers. I actually think they should invite people from the political spectrum, however controversial. The students there are studying politics, economics etc. in their entirety and need to make informed opinions. To know and understand does not necessarily mean to agree, right?

Back to the main story. I hope Argentines realise that they can effect change through public opinion and use it to curtail their bonkers President. She probably won't be going shoe shopping abroad for a while.

I rather think that the LSE would be better than the Oxford Union debating society for CFK to be given the floor to expound on her national Economic Model.

The mix of students and staff from all over the world could debate her Model's strengths and weaknesses ... and could well lead her, and Argentina, off in a more productive direction.

28# it will soon be November and you can update your cutting edge knowledge in the hotels you will use.Your dollar won't go so far.
Poppy, you can ask your wife what to say if you are lost for something!, to say.You predictably reactionary man.
Geoff,it would not be very useful to debate one's model in any forum in the UK,the time would be much better spent debating it with all the people of Argentina. It is little'coquetish' remarks such as these, that reveal the Eurocentric thinking that dominates at present. The underdevelopment of certain parts of the world,as a consequence of this type of thinking,is overlooked or blamed on the countries who are being dominated and robbed of its wealth.Equal exchange to follow is it?
I wish Mr timmerman and his family happiness and I would not like to be associated with the petty jealous manifested and would ask Elaine to re-look at herself and her comment in 22#(bear in mind your fondness of the people of Argentina,Chile and other countries).

If Timerman can pay for a wedding in Paris for his daughter with his money and complying with the law, I wouldn't have any problem with that, althought I think it's unethical coming from a minister to do such a display in a time of restriction. But it appears the law is not equal for all. He should account for the way he gets the currency. if I want to purchase foreign currency to travel, I need to say all the places where I'm going. And that, according to the law, is not the Government's business. I won't tell where I'm going and how many days I'm staying. They are even planning to request that from the airlines, which is against the data protection law. But I understand my traveling abroad isn't a national priority. What certainly is, is that the foreign currency policy is stopping sales of property, it's boosting inflation which affects everyone's cost of living, it's stopping capital goods from entering the country and even medicines, it's giving farmers half of what their product is worth, it's stopping investments, it's causing a flight of capital from the banks making credit more inaccessible to Argentines.

“Absolute power without accountability corrupts absolutely.”

Camoron and Blair (Right vs left paradigm)...yeah, they know all about that there in UK.

“And it is true that people have power in a democracy.”

Yeah really? That's why i live (well actually hope the US returns to that model)..in a Republic. Go read the difference between a democracy and a Republic.

In the UK..the queen's answer of what she represent:
(Feudel) Queen Elizabeth II:“ I represent a system that's far behind capitalism and socialism.”

Are you saying that the USA is in a better shape because you are a republic?

You are what you are, all governments are corrupt in some way, and its them that runs the dam country.

So it really is irrelevant if you live in a republic or and other rule of government,

if they do a good job, the country will benefit, if the leaders fxck it up, the country will suffer, is this not true.

And china is doing very well, North Korea is not.

Switzerland is doing very well, and France in not.
    And the wheel goes around.
    Still,
If our badly run government came out of the EU, we would have billions to spend on us,, instead of them .lol.

    @1
I have said marriage arrangements is a personal choice.

The Globe magazine USA announce that Prince Harry met his “granny” to tell her he don't want to be “Prince” anymore and plans to reside in the southwest of the USA, probably, in Las Vegas, Nevada on about 2014 when he receives inherited monies from his mother Diana Spencer.
The Globe magazine said Prince Harry understands that as a “Prince” he cannot have the lifestyle he enjoys so much which is wild sex parties!
Prince Harry also likes to play polo in Argentina.

As you all can see people regardless of nationalities or position, have different choices where to get marry or where to reside.

If Mr. Timerman is a typical Argentine, he'll have most of his money abroad, not in Argentina. It's quite possible that the greenbacks have been in Uruguay for some time, in a bank account in his name.
