    It's only a “revision”.

We need to “update” it to the 21st century.

You see, they just want to keep things “current”. And the “right” acts so irrationally about a very logical move, “they jump right down our throats”.

Well, maybe their strong feelings about what you are doing are legitimate sentiments.

I might deduct from this talk that CFK is thinking about the possibility of an ammendment.

”but every time we try to introduce a bill calling for it, the right jumps to bite our throats.”

More crap coming from KFC's party. Since when was Binner on the right? he's a Socialist!

“We need to update it to the 21st century” - is a very benign way of addressing a change to the constitution that was specifically designed to stop power crazed mutants from abusing their position and outstaying their welcome in the presidential palace.

The two term limit is at it's most important when it is being challenged.

Which one party control of a country, the only thing left is a president forever to become a dictatorship. The kirchner's already made argentina an international pariah, what's left.....destroy it nationally, because she is very close to that now. Her arrogance ignore's the protests of the people. Let's see if she will ignore them in October.

Removing constitucional limits on the number of terms a single person can be president for is the first step in removing the idea of democracy and installing a extremist totalatarian state (as was seen in Germany, Russia, Italy, Spain, Venezula and most of the other South American nations which have experianced periods of extreme poilitical rule). Note there is no limitation on the number of terms a party can form the government just the limit that one person who claims to know better than everyone around them and is defifntly the best person for the job. This only shows the narcasistic and sociapathic tendencies of the speaker. We have been seeing more and more of these kinds of statement leaving the mouths of not only CFK but her government who are concerned with one thing and one thing alone and that is holding power to matter what by using the poorlyy educated masses who are dependent on government handouts for their survival and as such as manipulated by the Peronists parties. The Kirchinitte family have now had apprxiamtly 14 years in power (between Nestor and Christina) and in that time we have not seen any tangiable icnrease in the quality of liviing, the economy or any other issues. Argentina is a Republic so why is CFK trying to turn the nation into a Monorachy with the Kirchner faimily the self impsoed royal family. Even in countries where there are Monarhcies there are legal protections in palce to ensure that they hold very little if any true power. it is therefore highly dangerous to combine the two. The people of Argentina have shown through the protests this week they do not want this system of government. Ok, they may be the minority who did not vote for CFK but I would bet they represent the majority of Argetnina tax payers and therefore it is they who hold the true power over the nation not CFK. Constiutions shoudl be ammended but not to suit one politcal party at one time in history, this is abuse of power at its most extreme.

That's a good point. The constitution of the republic is an inviolable unquestionable, unalterable sacrosanct tome of wisdom when it comes to the Falklands. When it comes to CFKs re-election it is a mere inconvenient road hump.

Constitutional reform is not possible. The people do not want it a reform and there are not enough pro K votes majority in conbgress to achieve this. So let's move on.

@10 there is not a majority yet! As you I am sure are aware there are midterm elections next year which could allow her to gain the 2/3 majority needed. the idea that we should not discuss possible chnage because it can not occur at the momemnt or has not occured yet is non-sensical. The people nof Argentina are making sure there opion on the matter is known ahead of any possible change so that the people who represents them in politics are aware of the dislike of this policy. What should happen is the Victory front party should come out and state under law that it has no intention of seeking consitutuional reform to allow a re-re election. Untill it does so the opposition and those against consitution reform have ever right to discuss the issue and campisgn aginst it.

I spy the problem. It's right there in the article! The words of Carlos Kunkel - “Whoever is in office will be determined by the population, candidates and Peronism in 2014.“ Have argies not yet learned that ”Peronism“ is one of the root causes of their problems? Doesn't any political ”philosophy” named for an individual turn out to be jingoistic? Time for something new? Like intelligence?

“there are not enough pro K votes majority in conbgress to achieve this”..but how much does a Senator's vote cost? I think the last time something CFK wanted done it was U$50K or has inflation brought that up too?

@ 13 I couldn't agree more. Argies are still dazzled by Peron's populism, which he used to desguise his appalling illicit enrichment, by his wife Evita's largesse towards the poor, while wearing her 1 million dollar + jewels. This lavishness ended up in one of the most atrociuos dictatorships in LatAm. I can't believe Argies are so unwise and stubborn not to see they're being bedazzled by sparkling pieces of glass!

THe problem is, we find your system of government, that of the UK, the EU nations, North American states, equally bowel-churning. None the more so because you people actually think it's the bomb, and better.

And that's how you are quickly sliding into economic quack, and social anomie.

And yet our forms of democracy have endured for centuries. Argentina is teetering on the brink of losing that democracy only 30 years after gaining it.

As for the economy. Well we've been through much worse and survived, and we don't feel the need to blame everyone in the world for the state of our economy. We take responsibility for it.

Perhaps Argentina should try taking responsibility for itself. If you do you will mature as a country and actually begin solving your problems instead of excusing them.

Re election for someone who took their country 6 levels into junk status as a borrower? Argentina is now 6 levels into junk status..........they worked hard to get that type of status. No one will invest there now.

He's right about the role of a constitution in a democracy, almost reminds me of the quote from Jesus that “Man was not created for the Sabbath but the Sabbath created for man”, these constitutional pharisees are rank self-interested self-satisfied hypocrites. Hopeful signs that he does not rule out re-election, my only worry is his continuing appeals to Peronism and relatively soft line on Scioli; if Peronism moves to the right and nominates someone like Scioli, I hope Kirchnerism launches its own campaign of the transversal left, whether that means Cristina or another candidate still loyal to her. Binner's line is particularly disappointing in this context, siding with right wing forces that would surely be far further from his party's policies than Cristina is if they ever got power, and I hope others in his party can see that

Proof positive that Kretina has nothing to do with the left is that a true socialist like Binner will have absolutely nothing to do with her.

The champagne montoneros and ERP that sidle round her are the offspring of those that in the 70's brought the military to power. Thank heavens that lack of funds has drawn the teeth of the armed forces in Argentina and the only threat to our freedom is Kretina and her troupe of performing sycophantic clowns!!!!!

Now that IMP gave her 3 months to fix her stats, either reported inflation will skyrocket and the peso will reach the blue market level, or she will get argetnina kicked out of a 188 nation organzation.

Seems the BCRA reserves are a lot less then lead to believe. There was a total of just 500 billion in reserves (pesos) of which 16% was foreign funds......roughly 80 billion pesos or 17.4 billion DOLLARS. unfortunately 14%, 70 billion pesos...15.2 billion dollars were pegged as credit deposits.....not their money. Reality is that they only had 2.2 billion in December 2011. while they made some money in surplus, they also paid those bonds. They really have no international funds in reserves.

    @ 34 Conqueror/Captain Poppy (ex-Patrick Deval) jejeje

The USA has the largest national debt in HISTORY...who is going to pay such debt? NO ONE.
Last 8/31/11 the Department of Treasury had only 80 billons dollars not enough to pay the Dept.of Defense personnel and retirees.
There is only 200 billons gold reserve.
Starting 1/1/2013 the new budget calls for immediate cuts for all departments, Defense, Transportation, Education, Housing and social services. More unemployment, more poverty, desperation.
Hey, every time I go out there is one USA citizen asking me for “change” (money) to buy food and/or the use of my cellular phone!
The Salvation Army is asking for donations of food, clothes, shoes, etc.
Homeless USA citizens sleeping on the streets.
