    You don’t need them,

Get up your own trade with companies that want a real holiday, not a political jaunt,

More you do, the less they will matter,

    As drake would say,
Why go to the poor mainland,
    When paradise is nearer.

South America recognizes Malvinas as an integral part of the argentine territory. It´s logical that what Buenos Aires has to say regarding the islands is taken into account.

Maybe you can bring tourists from Europe... via Ascension Islands or something...

    Nothing has changed...

Argentina does what is convenient for Argentina and made on all fronts and on all fronts, this includes resources to Las Malvinas.
If the UK is going to want to have some benefits, will have to do concessions.

This is just more evidence that Argentina is a vindictive bully.
As Briton says, you don't need them and if you can do without them and find customers regardless, it will make Argentina irrelevent. Argentina are again cutting their nose off to spite their face in which they will lose financially.
    @2
A tiny insignificant victory for an impotent bully. This makes a mockery of Argentine claims that the Falkland Islands need South America to exist.

    They don't.

Inconvinience like this will lead to more Falkland Islands autonomy and stronger links with the rest of the world whilst Argentina becomes the world expert on navel gazing.

What they think they are doing to the Flakland Islands is only more damaging to themselves. They need the Falkalnds more than the falklamds needs them.

They may think that they have won a small victory and impacted on the economy of the Falklands but really, they are just pushing their own economy further and futher down the U bend.

If they want to do that then who are we to stop them for doing it? they will come with their cap-in-hand soon enough.......

@1, 10 I agree with both of you. It is good to see the Falkland Islands has picked up on something that was said when the FCO was conducting its Overseas Territories consultation. The Falklands should tell its own story and, if cruising trade is wanted, look for cruise lines that currently operate around southern Africa and want to branch out. South-west from southern Africa to Antarctica then west to the South Shetland Islands, north to the Falklands, east to South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands then back to southern Africa. Prices need to be kept reasonable. Fuel supplies are also important. There should be fuelling points on all those islands. Accommodation shouldn't be much of a problem. “Cruisers” have their ship! There needs to be land and water local transport. Maybe even local air transport. All at very reasonable prices. Profit margins may be tight, but South America needs to be avoided. Even ashore keep prices low. Remember how much people have paid just to get there! Don't turn them off by trying to rip them off. Remember to include battlefield tours. Just imagine how the latinos will be so pleased for you as they see you making an incredible success and know that they are getting NOTHING! Maybe you could persuade the British forces to demonstrate some of their equipment. But only to “friendly” visitors. I would visit if the price was right! And I'd want to see Pebble Island, Fanning Head, Darwin, Goose Green, San Carlos Water, Ajax Bay, Port San Carlos, Mount Longdon, Two Sisters, Mount Harriet, Tumbledown, Wireless Ridge, Sapper Hill and Stanley. Then there's the wildlife. Small parties, not coaches. I remember all the pictures etc. from the South Atlantic in '82. I'd like to see it all myself before I kick off. So hurry!

Oh what vitri0lic Twaddle and Tripe you all speak!

Do then explain to me Why is it that this year we have 5 vessels doing International Passenger cruise exchanges this coming summer - using the scheduled Lan flight even though it is fixed date does not offer them the flexibility of a charterflight?
Hell- one of the vessels is even called mv USHUAIA!! - She will of course as a civilian vessel be flying the courtesy flag of the country port she is visiting, as do all vessels.
How do you explain our growing landbased tourist trade where folks come here for 7-10-14 days travelling around the Islands staying in wildlife lodges and hotels?
We now need to build more hotels and lodges to cater for the demand.
When a large vessel with 2500 passenger capacity was denied entrance to Ushuaia last year if it visited Stanley - what did that vessel do?
Did it drop the Falklands and go to Ushuaia??
I recall it dropped Ushuaia (and your tourist businesses lost many thousands of dollars) - went to Stanley - and - Punta Arenas in Chile!

You are so full of fantasy and vitriol! Just like those who claimed victory when our parliamentarians went to the Panamerican summit - you claimed they were stopped from addressing the conferences - you and I know the truth of course- they were never intending to and could not anyway as the Falklands are not members of that association (yet) and were invited as observers ! And that is what they did - observed the lunacy of Arg actions - and met and talked to senior politicians of all other nations there except I think Columbia.

Did you close down the Falklands prescence at Seatrade? -- No

Did you prevent them from talking business with cruise operators - No

Lots of Argentine delegates talked to them as well!

    So grow up folks!

It doesn't really matter what the Argentineans say in Argentina.

They were bound to use all they could muster to berate the Falklands (there are STILL no Malvinas) on their own turf.

Next year will see another location for the trade jamboree and Argentina's childlike actions will simply be ignored, just like they were this last year when cruise ships still visited the islands and then went on to Chile.

Once the financial crash comes AG will be isolated completely, which after all is what they SAY they want.

Although I live in Uruguay and a crash for Argentina is going to impinge on us as well I cannot wait for it to happen and the resulting government change take place.

    Better the unknown than TMBOA.

Oh please Chris, you have to read more.
Argentina wont crash it will grow this year between 2,5 % and 3% and next year will be doing it will be between 4% and 5%.
Argentina is taking all necessary measures against speculative factors impact and the country is being succeeding. In proportion to Argentina is doing better than Brazil.
For the other hand, the pressures for the sovereignty claim will increase little by little.

“Your comments are much more like MP news. more wishes than realities!”

1.Argentina is a vindictive bully=reality, (This is not a wish by the way). But try as they might to bully the Falkland Islands the FIs elder brother the UK can kick the crap out of Arg. if 1982 happens again.

2.you don't need them and if you can do without them and find customers regardless, it will make Argentina irrelevent. =Earlier this year Argentina stopped a cruise ship that had visited Stanley landing in Ushaia-so it continued the cruise to Chile instead= This is not a wish, it is reality.

3.On the same thread, Argentina pulled out of an oil sharing agreement that may have resulted in them providing oil facilities for the Falkland oil fields and benefitting financially but that has not stopped hydrocarbon exploration as the Falkland Islands do not need Argentine facilities to handle the hydrocarbons=Not a wish but reality.

4.Argentina are again cutting their nose off to spite their face in which they will lose financially=This is not a wish as I would not object to Argentina benefitting from Falkland islands wealth if they were decent to the Islanders, but the reality is that Argentinas bullying has cost them (not the FIs) money=reality.
5.A tiny insignificant victory for an impotent bully=reality.

6.This makes a mockery of Argentine claims that the Falkland Islands need South America to exist=reality.

7.Inconvinience like this will lead to more Falkland Islands autonomy and stronger links with the rest of the world= Any bonehead can see that sticking their rheas head in the sand and pretending the Islanders do not exist means Argentina are forcing the FIs to have stronger links with the UK and the outside world and weaker ones with South America-to the financial detriment of South America, except for Chile who are deservedly making £millions out of the FI. This is not a tenous wish-it is actually happening, therefore it is a reality.

Unlike you I can actuall understand finance and the impolications it has to any country. Denying how serious the problems are will not make them go away.

When the IMF eventually cans your shoddily run country for the lies it uses to reduce the rate it pays on bonds then amounts owing to bond holder will crush your 'economy'.

But I forget, you will just refuse to pay the bond holders their money AND that will finish you.

Perhaps your new found mates the Chin will come and buy up Argentina and then you will find out you will have new masters. AND they will be your masters.

“The better of this region is to be united, not to fight”

    United region eh?

    Paraguay kicked out of OAS

Argentina wants Chile to give land to Bolivia.

Argentina imposes strict import tarrifs on its neighbours.

Chile claims to support Argentina's false claim for the Falklands whilst supplying an air link and allowing cruise ships in that have docked in the Falklands.
Brazil supports Argentina yet buys state of the art ships from the UK

“Which country of this region would want an ilegal bot to make travel in SAm??”
It can't be illegal because Britain claimed it in 1690, that's a long time before Argentina existed (as you don't know this).
The answer to your question is Chile who run a LANCHILE link to the Falkland Islands and allow cruise ships visiting the Falklands to dock in Chile-as Chile are smart enough to make money from the Falklands with trade, whilst Argentina looses money (Lol).

The Falkland Islands are not illegal, try colonialist Argentina throwing Amerindians off their land (condemned by your best friends the UN).And that's recently, not the genocide in the 1800s).

All of the present trouble is caused by Argentina. They stirred it up, they are paying for it as the MLA's finally get their act together.

However, the UK has a long history of ENDING trouble and illegal invasion (ie Port Egmont 1771 (from Spain), Port Louis 1833 (from the United Provinces of the River Plate) Southern Thule 1976, and in 1982 South Georgia and the Falkland Islands( from Argentina).

They have = the USA, France, Italy the UK and Chile and more will come on board to take advantage of trade that Argentina does not want.
The Falkland Islands are no longer isolated because the world is a smaller place.

Why isn't Argentina on the diplomatic and economic offensive against the French is it is against (so-called) colonies in South America. Especially Guayana, as it is actually governed in France, while the Falklands is actually governed in the Falklands.

I'm waiting for them to comment on the Penguin numbers in 1833.

I find it suprising for the backward looking (one forward gear and four reverse), Malvanistas to mention anything that has happened since 1833. (Unless you count the scratched record that plays the '1965' number).
