Falkland Islands: High catches lower prices

what it means is what the rgenweeners threatened, overfish it till stocks are dwindled, they think they are getting one up on the islands whilst infact they are shooting themselves in the foot again

The retailer will keep prices as high as possible 'to stabilise the market', to maximise profit.
The housewife will continue to pay pretty much the same price for her squid rings.
The ones who usually lose out are the 'producer' - fisherman/farmer - and the end-consumer.

Truthfully, overfishing is a strategy of OUR government, Malen. The clever idea is that if we sell an excess of licences to the Spanish, Korean, and Chinese fishing fleets we will cleverly leave the Islanders without squid!!!!
The answer is that we couldn't sell the licences because there wer no takers!!!!
The other side of this particular coin is that 25.000 famillies who live on the Atlantic coast have lost their livelihood, FISHING, because of the regressive policies of our government encouraging overfishing, not only in our waters, but also in Uruguayan waters. For proof Google “sobrepesca de merluza”!!!!!!!!
