International law violations? What is the 7% of bond holders that did not want a reduced payback called? Did argentina think because they said they are not paying it back that it just disappears? Did they think signing a contract that waives diplomatic immunity did not apply to future administrations? I don't think Ghana should be footing a housing bill because cuntina does not want to pay her bills. If she had U$ dollars she would pay the bill, it's a sign of what is left in the CB for reserves.

    As I wrote somewhere else......
This is turning into a total “win-win” situation for Argentina.....

    1) We get rid of an anachronical symbol of the undeserved privileges of our Armed Farces.......

    2) We get rid of a ship that leeches the Argentinean State for some 15 million U$D a year.
15 U$D million would pay for many rural schools in Argentina......

    3) Internally, despite the best efforts of the “Grupo Clarin”, this episode is educating us about the true nature of the “International Financial System” and uniting us against its most nefarious effects and intentions.

    4) Externally, this episode will show the rest of the world that Argentina in particular and South-America in general is not ruled by ”Self-Appointed Administrators of Hedge Funds and Banks, but by Elected Politicians with Valid Plans, Ideas and Aspirations for their respective Peoples and Countries.

    5) I really envy the Captain of the “ARA Libertad” position....
He has the historical chance of becoming the first Argentinean officer in AGES to do an honorable thing….....… Let's hope he grabs it...

    I wouldn't hesitate a second.

This is certainly good news, the boat is as good as repossessed now.

The ball is rolling with momentum now, if NML or another creditor could coordinate seizure of Aerolineas assets then that's real progress. Still reckon YPF is the best target made vulnerable by nationalisation, interesting times...

    LOL @ Timmerman.

“Argentina makes the government of Ghana responsible for all and every damage that the frigate ARA Libertad might suffer until its release, as well as all the costs generated because of an illegal action that violates international law”.

Still can't accept responsibility for ANYTHING. If Argentina didn't spend so much time dodging the bailiffs it would never have come to this.

I think the message about the sailors anger was relayed to CFKC so she has released them while she refuses to speak to the very people she should be talking to. Notice the pattern of her behaviour?

But all credit for working in 'Pirates of the Caribbean' into the speech.

This is from a posting in the Clar'in from an Argentinian as to how how they think about what is going on, shows very well how out of touch CFK,s government is with the people

I propose to start an immediate campaign with a collection of 10 Argentine pesos each volunteer for this bond because it seems that we all pay taxes do not reach for it. (sic)
The frigate can recover MORNING. This government does not have any interest or encourage patriotism.
Frigate for everyone but urgent PRIVATE collection. Los Argentinos is our government not representing us occasionally ..
International debt is much higher than the 20 million that we are asked to take her tomorrow.
Let this solution left to bureaucrats and well and give the order to evacuate the marine is a national disgrace, showing disinterest in our flagship vessel and also implying that there is not a weight.

You have certainly lived up to your deserved reputation as the SECOND BIGGEST LIAR on MP if only for the little gem at the end of 5).

You have demonstrated time after time on here that you do not even understand the concept of RESPECT FOR OTHERS AND UPHOLDING INTERNATIONAL LAW.

I think that sums you up nicely, don’t you think, Think?

    To the point:

This was always going to be the response of TMBOA once Richard Adjei-Frimpong, Lord Justice of The High Court of Ghana made his judgement and no attempt by Timmidman and Putridjelly at diminishing his status, calling him a corrupt judge and indirectly accusing Ghana of threatening the wellbeing of those on board this ‘warship’ is going to change the facts against Argentina.

Argentina is now firmly fixed on a downward spiral, driven there by someone who has completely lost her mind.

I sympathise with the captain and crew - and fear the loss to the world of a fine beautiful and rare 3 master. $15million a year maybe but surely she brings the ARA a lot of good PR worldwide.
BUT - I read elsewhere that the Arg Govt specifically allowed all its assets as liable guarantee when these loan/investment Credits were first issued- if this is true then I think all Arg can do is - Pay Up! - and for the first time in many years - Honour its word.
As for complaining to the UN and Int Maritime Convention - is Twitman joking? - Who has breached that Convention several times by harrassing innocent vessels exercising right of free passage thorough Arg economic zones etc etc?
Arg fails to understand that in most other Democracies the Govt and the Judiciary - are thankfully seperate. We know CFK has “bought” all your Judges- same does not apply in all other nations.

The real reason Argentina is in such a state is because of the lack of proper education. You are right they have some of the best fertile land in the world. In fact they have a heck of a lot going for them if only their leaders would wake up to that fact. Instead they spend so much time trying to dominate the whole of South America and the Antartica that they have long ago forgot about what they actualy have.

I have said this before now is the time to start educating the Argentine youngsters what is really going on in the world today.
When you see comments from people like THink, then it clearly shows how badly their very existance has become.
On another note it is interesting to see that their flag ship looks set to be stolen from them something they are not used to having happen to them. Maybe now is the time for the rest of the Latin American People to step in and put Argentina firmly in it's place once and for all.
If Argentina continues to use the aggressive ways she does it will eventually destroy them as a Country . We have seen that throughout History.

    25 Think

I refute entirely your claim that the Captain should commit suicide (that IS the usual interpretation): as far as we can determine from here HE is the one who followed the Navy Orders to the letter.

The whole circus has come about because AG, yet again, fell into a situation of its own making and one that was entirely foreseeable. Now it makes spurious claims that are entirely predictable by the western posters here.

Again, it is entirely predictable that the sailors were very upset with what passes as diplomats in AG going to the government of Ghana and making the usual threats as if it was the Falklands (there are STILL no Malvinas) with again, entirely predictable results from a fine ex-British trained and educated country living up to their own and International laws. The fact that the sailors did not smack these buffoons around a little is to miss an opportunity of teaching them some manners.

And then we have the edifying spectacle of the MINISTERS of the government going, frankly, berserk in public. And one of them is the AG representative for LatAm to the UNSC no less!! He really believes in representing the whole of the Southern Cone, NOT.

P.S. I thought you knew all about me (you claim). How come you missed the fact that I am an atheist and don’t give a damn for fairy tales, Catholic, Anglican or the stupid mussies. They really helped the Captain, didn’t they?

We know now where most of the 'Argentine' posters on here have gone. They have been flooding the Ghanaian blogs with rumours of war. “If they don't release the ship there could be war with Argentina”.

In other news, the families of the Argentine sailors made it known how unhappy they are at CFKC's mis-handling of the situation. In particular that she gave more attention to her porn-star representative than the plight of the sailors.

“The text, which the family decided not to sign individually to avoid reprisals from the authorities against marine passages is quite hard. ”Did you know that not all crew members have the same ability to communicate with their families because economically it is very expensive because each message or call is charged in dollars?”.

Yes the trolle are on Ghanaian chat boards, and also on the thread about the demonstrations in London, which like these types of demonstrations passed off peacefully, with the demonstrators get their views noted, then all going home.

However, the Ghanaians won't take Argentine threats seriously (I mean who would?), mainly because they know that the Argentine navy is in need of a serious overhaul, their airforce can't cross the Atlantic, and their Army can't be moved, as they have no way to move them.

Even if they did have the ability to project their military that far, the Ghanaians would have the support of the African Union (most notably South Africa and Nigeria) who are not going to allow a bunch of South Americans to attack one of their allies. Nor would the Commonwealth just stand idly by.

Nope, the Argentines are full of hot air, as usual, and they are mired in a situation of their own making.

They will bleat about it to the UNSC, which will say its none of their business, and to everyone who will listen. But they will get nowhere, as the Ghanaians are following their law and international law to the letter.

Think: Some how I agree withpart of your posts, but no one really wins except Singer, some lawyers and the CFK opposition. Do you know what will happen with any extra surplus money not spent by the armed forces?... The wise other woman president in hemisphere has delayed purchasing very expensive fighters, and I assume will delay her naval expansion to focus on social and infrastructure needs.

The ship promoted peace and cooperation. Very good public relations for your country. CFK has turned the ship into a disgrace. There will be a lot of political anger surfacing against her over this. I cannot imagine who might buy her, except perhaps Monsanto or ...

#10 For those who complain about the ship being low on fuel: When in port with 136 crew aboard, you need A/C for living in cramped conditions, electricity for your freezers with food stores, operational water pressure for fire control, etc... The open seas requires much less energy from the generators.

The following will be a compendious peroration which will perspicuously highlight the lunacy, the deranged ramblings, and the debauched morality of the foreigners who tarry this website. It will be in their own, damning words:

@3 “Did argentina think because they said they are not paying it back that it just disappears?”. You have just laid justification for terrorism against the United States. Or are you suggesting war crimes are less punishable than debt, especially when the country comitting the crimes refuses to prosecute itself for such evil?

No qualms in making the people suffer for the “horrid” crime of canceling arrears, therefore you are left with no retort when the terrorists decide to make YOU suffer for the deaths your invasions caused. 9/11 is thus a legitimate operation.

    @4

July 7, 2005 was a perfectly legitimate mission then. The terrorists did what was required, make the people suffer for the decisions of their government.

@5 “NOOOOOOO. How can Argentina abandon this ship? Have they no pride left? Very very disappointing.”

No doubt you would also be profusely objurgating Argentina if they tried some outlaw mission to recover the vessel. So if Argentina is peaceful, you insult it, if it is not, you insult it. Thank you for proving your hatred on your own.

    @9

Does this rambling not dissemble the frustration of every British towards a country that has shamed them disproportionately: by two times humiliating them in urban warfare; by embarrasing them when they attempted to sail OUR rivers and 8 of their ships ended up as reefs; and in 1982 by sinking a few more. This animus arises as Argentina is an unbearable inconvenience to their self-delusions.

    @13

This story is only a story here. No one else in ARG or planet Earth cares.

    @14

I thought Argentina is dirt poor (to insult us), now it is filthy rich (to insult us here). Another proven case of noetic derangement.

    @18, 23

”this episode is educating us about the true nature of the “International Financial System”

You are correct think, I mean...like honestly, how ridiculous of a system where you borrow money and the creditors expect it back! And on top of that, if a previous presidential administration signs contracts , how can they possibly expect future administrations to honor the terms, including waiving. immunity rights.....what a ridiculous international financial system.

    So let's recount:
1-the screwed with the border guards and have a tenuous settlement that is still not completely settled
2-They have totally embarrassed the navy (themselves don't count they always do that, but are not aware) and scapegoated several chiefs of naval services
3- That only leaves the army wondering when they are next!

YPF assets will prove more difficult to sieze, even oil as it is mostly likely imported under another countries flag. I don't believe YPF has assets outside of SA. Aerolinas would be the next logical choice. They fly toMiami and it's nice to know that Singer will fly the passengers back so they can still stay and enjoy Disney World....lol.
Because they had a win in the US Supreme Court should not give them a sense of security. If it were any other bank then the Federal Reserve, Argentina would not have won that case.
I find it amazing the the ship ARA Argentina is sinking and what does cfk do? Orders the crew to start opening all the seacocks. I am convinced that she wants total chaos and poverty in her country....that will be completing here model. I think she wants fiefs, serfs and politicians as classes in their society.

@5 That's a joke, right? Apparently, the boat is short of fuel. They can't use the sails. They haven't learned that bit yet. As for fighting, history shows that argies need a numerical advantage of about 825 to 1 before they fight.
@7 Meanwhile, the captain of the Libertad is attempting to estimate his chances of being granted political asylum in Ghana. As an alternative to getting shot if he goes back to argieland.
@11 Does Ghana get tropical storms?
@15 I don't see a problem. Ghana removes the vessel from the water to a storage area. “Sorry, massa, no understand how to take down sticks. Many low bridges. Ship keep falling off rollers. Did our best but we can show you where bottom of boat is. Can you glue back? Do you have proof that things you say were on boat? There are many thieves. But we've kept the hole pristine. Where you used to have an engine!” Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!!
@25 I have a simple solution to this problem. Tow this bit of wood a few miles out to sea and use it as a target.
@34 War? With what? Every argie “warship” is out of action. And when the Royal Navy turns up?

The simplest solution to this whole problem is that Argentina starts to grow up some more. Honour their debts, face the internal consequences of the bad guys running your Country. Then go public to the world and say a real big sorry by removing or eliminate if nescessary all the dictators that are destroying you. Then when that is done drop all your claims to other peoples land / Countries. Argentina will then be ready to go forward in a new and much better way.
Untill that happens Argentina will stay in this ever deepening rut and world embarrasment.

As ever, the Argentine Gvt. is acting as a clown gang becoming the most laughable world's circus....The thief running behind the judge....!!!
Anyone with at least two fingers forehead knows that if you have a debt you must pay it or beware of the consecuences and the creditors aren´t compelled to accept the change of the current value and interest rates freely signed by both sides.....so, even it´s very painful specialy for a broken country, the law must be preserved and the word honoured....
Regrettably, from the starts of the K's age and on, Gvt. officers headed by the president have been dedicated to press the international issues and countries around them to hide the internal mismanagement that have led them to the cliff where they are now......Have been acting as a poor little country humilliated by a powerful African Gvt. and a Intl. Fund Holder just because they want to do so with no reason for that attitude.....As ever the Argentine Gvt. is trying to change the whole thing applying a words puzzle to change the truth....Time to the proud Argentine people to ask their Gvt. to act as a democratic, respectful, reliable and smart country to tray to recover their lost image of big, powerful and with bright future country instead current image of non democratic, corrupt, not reliable, bottom level country....You have an enviable rich big country, smart and friendly people to be thrown to the garbage as your leaders are doing....depending on a bipolar atittude of your president.
Don´t transfer your Gvt. fault to the Ghana Gvt. that just acted as intl. law dictate.
Honour the word is the best investiment a man or a country can do.....in any matter you are involved and where it was gave....

Who attacked anyone from the land? We were already on the land when Argentina was created! Isn't that the famous line of reasoning for justifying the Falklands? (which may I repeat, I don't want my gov to pursue)... that they have existed longer than Argentina?

So if “date of incipience” is so paramount, then given the fact that the people that would later become argentine already lived in the land before the country existed, that makes any subsequent squabbles internecine in nature, and not a matter of an outside force coming into another's land.

Again, you can't defeat my logic. Not because I am smarter, but because you are all hypocrites, and hypocrites can't apply the same rules to thesmelves, thus their arguments are obliteterated with troubling, facily legerity.

    @68 - Tobias

You're beginning to froth at the mouth! It's very amusing!

As usual when you have no substantial valid arguement you resort to insulting people, and using big words, because you think it makes you sound more convincing and intelligent.

Do you actually have any comments on this particular article? If so make them.

If you want to go into what our respective countries have done in the past, well then, your own has lots of blood on its hands too.

By the way, you haven't yet presented a logical argument, when you do, we'll let you know.

But you admit that people lived on the land before it became Argentinian, in 1853, then as a country free of your colonial masters in Spain, you went on to steal even more land from the natives, and then from your neighbouring countries.

That's why your argument isn't logical. You blame the Europeans for all your ills, yet the people who now reside in Europe where not the colonisers. You are the coloniser, Tobias, because it was your ancestors that left Europe to colonise someone else's land. Do you see the logic behind that?

So stop hating everyone. If you had ever bothered to travel, you would see that people from different countries and cultures aren't really that different from each other. You should embrace diversity and not be frightened of it.

By the way, when you start supporting terrorist acts against civilians, you show your argument (or lack thereof) to be extremely weak, and show how desperate you are to distract people from the debarcle that your government has made of the ARA Libertad incident.

By the way, when the Iranians planted a bomb in B.A. does that mean that the Argentine people deserved it? No? Then stop supporting terrorists Tobias, it's cowardly and lame.

As for this thread, the UNSC will politely inform Timidman that this is nothing to do with them. It's a bi-lateral problem between Argentina and Ghana.

    Have a nice day. :)

I will repeat one more time (written in Chaucer style)

(disclaimer again: I'm using this argument to
prove the broader logic, not because I want to
take the Falklands from the British).

If you hypocrites make the argument, all the time,
that the Falklands have existed “longer” than Argentina
has, and this fact makes for a direct nullification of any
possible claims to the islands because of that change,
in political status making prior claims void, then by extension the
crime the SPANISH commited of coming from the
outside world to invade the natives' lands cannot
be transferred to the argentines as it too became void.

    Furthermore, we as a
nationality came into being already ON the land, that
makes us as much natives and a product of
of that land as are the indian inhabitants.
Argentines did not come from the outside, they
came into being already here, thus never entered
    from the outside.

Once again, this all ties up to the broader excecrable
moral and intellectual mores of the foreigners here.

The people of Argentina are to be held accountable
for unpaid debt, the people of my country are not to
be held accountable for war crimes.

The F.I's existed from a time before Argentina so you
have no claim, but crimes that ocurred before Argentian
do carry onto you, so you are to blame.

On both tracts, you show your limpid double-standards.

I have just clearly exposed the brutes, the hateful
bastards you all are. No honor, pure hypocrisy.

You are by far the funniest troll in here, talking boludo like no one else, but trying to put as many complex words into your sentences as possible, doesn't make your comments sound more convincing - on the contrary, it actually makes it sound pathetic. The only reason Argentina want's the falklands is that ( and has now been confirmed) we are sitting on one of the largest oil reserves in the world and Argentina is going to loose any chance to get it.
We also know how desperate many parts of the world are for oil and we on the Islands are once again in the right place at the right time to cash in.
Yes I believe that one day a country might try to use a method to disrupt or try to steal our oil but that is common in this world today.

Think: I have always had an unrealistic international political policy. I never received any metals for valor either.

Regarding one of the intellectually challenged posters here: quote : ...Chile after 30 years of “miracle” policies, can't manufacture a weather radio...Unquote
I fondly remember my Chilean assembled personal radio my parents paid  a fortune for during the UP in the early 70's.  It never worked correctly and had terrible reception.   (Sort of like the televisions you now find in the homes in Argentina.)  I prefer free markets and have an iPhone that streams programs wherever I am.  I can travel freely as well and use my dollar or peso accounts without permission.  I can order items directly by Amazon, with no restrictions.  But you're right, we don't assemble electronics or cars here in Chile because it does not make sense.  We have much more than copper, but we worry about China's economic bubble...

Think:  My personal view of what a nation's military should be structured as was developed by Elisabeth Rehn, the former  Finnish Minister of State, Member of Parliament, Minister of Defence and much more.  Finland will now radically change in 2015 to a new defense policy that think would be a model for many countries of South America.

Argentina is saddled by immense corruption and arrogant pride, but it would be  the time to change because the cost of rebuilding your military is outrageous.

I know very little about military “games” ….. but, if memory serves me right, the Finnish defense strategy has until now been similar to the Swiss.
A highly trained and motivated professional and conscripted DEFENSIVE army, adequately equipped for a long attrition war against any invading enemy....

If that is your idea for the South American Countries, I highly agree with it...
(Complemented, of course, with some kind of state of the art DEFENSIVE missile deterrent system, under the UNASUR umbrella, against any ”Rouge Extra-Hemispherical State” that fancied a colonial adventure against South-American territories or resources.)

Now they are beginning to feel as we have from their pressure. The once mighty Argentina is starting to crumble and each day we see a little more chipped off.
Keep this up and they will be worthless in a few short years.
Meanwhile Falkland is forging ahead big time. This time next year we are going to be in a whole new era. We have managed to do this in spite of the so called Argie embargo and other disruptions they impose on us.

    THINK
While modernizing equipment, Finland is reducing its overall size and annual budget by 200 million Euros as well as promoting security within the framework of the Council of Europe and NATO's Partnership for Peace. (The Swiss remain independent and trusting no one.)
“The 2015 policy is in retaining and strengthening the nation's capability in a changing environment, where global developments, regional conflicts and new threats have become of increasing significance to Finland's security.
This includes combat environmental risks, disasters, organized crime, threats to information systems, infectious diseases, the proliferation and use of weapons of mass destruction, and terrorism. Efforts in these areas must be pursued through both domestic measures and international cooperation.”  The remarkable woman behind the change is a major promoter of peace. You should Google Elisabeth Rehn and her work. Perhaps we can agree on something... Perhaps.

Tonight, two small and dear roasted chickens will adorn our table that were murdered by the neighbor's terrier yesterday as my youngest daughter left the coop gate slightly ajar. I had to pluck off all the feathers and gut them, which caused an outrage with some of my family. “Waste not, want not” as they taught us in school. Only two laying hens left now... Oh the tragedy of not having enough small blue-greenish eggs for breakfast...

Your English is nothing short of amazing, what makes me wonder is your obvious love of the language. Don't tell me it is wise to learn the language of your enemy, this is not the case. You have learned far more than the language. I can speak enough German and Russian to get into a fight with either group but I would never be arrogant enough to think I could take on Grasse, Hesse, Marx or Gogol or Nabokov because I don't have the love for their language. Something happened to make you really bitter after you mastered our language, not before. I don't imagine you are going to come clean on this, certainly not on here but you should be teaching in a university and not worrying about the rest of this crap. We have some very good universities here in Canada, smart people are always welcome.

I know exactly what I meant... I use that word because the rest of you label such abstruse lexicon as such. Not me, you.

I know the German “oktroyieren”, “labil”, “praegnant”, which most natives of that language have told me they see as “verbiage” and unusual vocabulary. But I know it. Which means I am on my way to a 20,000-25,000 in German, French, and Portuguese, which is still higher than natives.

I estimate I'm at 10,000-12,000 in those languages right now. A couple of years of grueling toil and I will reach my goals (5,000 words a year).

@174 Tobias So you're a racist, fascist, neo-Nazi loving, fake ego-maniac. Now you're revealed to be a liar (being sarcastic since we all knew that). How many languages did you claim to know? About 7? Not impossible by no means, but depends on certain factors. How old are you? If you're around 30 or below, then it's extremely unlikely, unless you're a bot, which I doubt. Your comment about having a vocab range of at least 40,000 + makes me laugh, as it's obviously a load of bullshit. And your comments on having at least 20,000 in several languages only increases the unlikeliness of your claims.

Need to remind you that having a wide vocab range doesn't determine your intellectual capabilities, and your excessive references to being superior in English to the natives, has the opposite effect. If you are so intelligent, then how about a challenge, which should be easy for a person of your 'level'?

Write 3 reports/essays on anything that I'll choose, and it'll be marked by an expert, which I could find with no problem
    1. 20,000 essay on a subject relating to the roles that Tactics, Fitness and Practical Ability play in sport, and cite examples. May not make sense to yourself, but does so to those at Stirling Uni.
    2. A 30,000 word essay on the history of South Africa, and how civilization has progressed since 1900.
    3. A 200 page thesis on any subject in the Human Biology. Has to provide evidence, and will be reviewed by a close friend who works in the Scottish Education System (University) with a doctorate

If you can master all 3 of these, then you are indeed superior, and I'll acknowledge your status as a literary and intellectual master. Until then, nope. Your call.

And as I have also stated, if foreigners would dessist from their incessant vitriol and excoriation, I would immediately cease my participation here, since as you all may know, I have no interest in the harrassment of the Falklands.

    @183

I have given hints of my age in the past. I will state I'm under 30. If you work and study very, very, very, very hard you can achieve what I claim I have. You must remember it is not that preposterous, my “claim”. European languages share a panoply of lemmas, and as such, if you achieve a very high level of vocabulary in a couple of languages, you will come across many of those lemmas in all the others. Examples:

“execrable” = knew it in english before french

    yet

“denouement” = knew it in french before english

“wend” = knew it English before German

”belabor = knew it in German (labern) before seeing it in English

“magisterial” = knew it in Spanish before English

Needless to say, most of the Spanish lexicon can be easily transfered to Portuguese, it is merely a matter of spelling and pronounciation conventions.

As such, I only need cursory exposure by heavy reading in my languages. I have already learned most of the “difficult” vocabulary of French, German, and Portuguese, that is the every day vocabulary that is radically different from the other languages.

I will the first one to admit all this has come at a high cost to gregarious activities, but the reward is worth it.

  • Giorgio_O._Tsoukalos

And just to point to “theMan”, look at this aleatory example when I used the word “picaroon”

    http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/picaroon

I remember when I first saw that word in English, I knew it must mean something like “rascal” or “mischevous”, and that is pretty close to the meaning. How did I know? The English words comes from the 1600s an the Spanish “pícaro” which means “mischevous, cunning”.

When I saw the German word “prägnant” I knew it could not mean “pregnant” because German alrady had “schwanger” (humans) and “trächtig” (animals). So I thought what other meaning could it have, and then thought that in a former meaning, pregnant meant “concise, succint”. Sure enough, that is the meaning of that word in German.

And this process goes on all the time with me in French and Portuguese. And all the languages cross-fertilize each other. The more I know in any of them, the more I can guess in the others.

Like the saying “The more you save, the less you need to save”, well “the more vocab you know the less you need to learn”. I have already done the hard part of learning a lot of vocabulary, so when I see words I do not know there is a good chance I know them in another language, or can guess their meaning, and if none of those work, context helps (if that fails, then yes the dictionary).

The point is, that I don't have to “memorize” new words nearly as much because I already know the base lemma. This makes “learning” knew words go much much faster. I just need to focus on the spelling, which I do confuse at times.

    My thoughts on Giorgio:

I believe Giorgio to be a polysyllabic holophrastic verbalist in the making, who purposely uses uncommon words and a form of sesquipedalianism to distract attention away from particular arguments and divert them to a more egotistical arena, that being of “comprehension of vocabulary”. He tends not to repeat the uncommon words he uses, which lends me to believe that he is merely “word dropping” in the belief that it gives him some intellectual edge over others posting in these forums. I believe that he experiences some kind of euphoria and superiority when using these words around his antagonists.

Of course, by using uncommon words, whether truthfully known to him or by the power of Google (or Thesaurus) he is in fact proving nothing about any skills he may (naturally good at scrabble), or may not possess (good at scrabble only if playing it online).

    That was highly entertaining.

I think we can add misogyny to the list of TTT's prejudices, and it is a long list. People that full of hate really only hate themselves.

Just as another note, TTT mentioned some time ago that he had to leave formal schooling because of reasons beyond his control. That is a tragedy on two levels as he probably needs the intellectual stimulation and socialisation of other students. He might realise that not all women are exactly the same, just as he does not speak for all Argentines.

He has a classic case of NDP, having to constantly assert his (imagined) superiority and that his opinions are supported by every. single. Argentine; Often the whole world.

Still, I am sure he garnered a great deal of pleasure from such intense attention.

He's like a wannabe peron extremenist with the fortitude to put into play anything he espouses. He's a radical without anyplace to be radical about, he speaks without a base and probably believes the divel he shovels. His inferiority complex certainly stems from the resentment of leaving a formal education early, as he once stated. His radical POV naturally comes from the utter lack of control of his own destiny. He is very much like an island without an ocean, a soldier of fortune without a war or the bravado to sell his services if there was one. You are correct LEPrecon, he seems to think that if he says it, it must be true. I always chuckle at his “fail”.....“my logic is flawless” statements. How? The other 'ships' the AG Navy has don't work or break down as soon as they meet the swell of the ocean. LOL

    Don't get cranky, Think.
Yanks no more babble, curse or stink(?) than any other nationality.
Don't you like Yanks either? Some of my best friends are American.
But even after all that, Frank is NOT a Yank.
I know where Frank comes from & l'm not saying.
Even if you guessed the correct answer l'd still say “me no savvy, dispela”
So Think, just because it rhymes, doesn't make it so.

Poppy you are a teenager.Your facade is gone. You need to rename yourself now you realise what the pretence you started with means and how it constricts what you post.
Like LEP you need to find a way to say that you contribute to Greenpeace,Survival,WWF and perhaps Amnesty Ect like our ex-army,now retrained as a nurse expert at trying to impress as an intellectual man.
Perhaps the Somalians could sink the libertad and Eliot can claim the insurance.Would that be legally correct LEP?

The following letter to the editor was published in Argentine national daily La Nación of Tuesday 23rd October, in connection with the frigate “Libertad” (my translation):
”What is actually needed is a diplomatic solution behind closed doors. The countries with influence in Ghana are the USA and the UK. Relations with the US are not good (trade policy, friends with Castro and Chávez, detention of US military aircraft, default...), there were no problems with the UK until the Malvinas question heated up once again, that was the end. Who else could mediate? Spain and Brazil, traditional friends of Argentina until not long ago ... What friends has Argentina got left? Not even Uruguay, only Angola, Azerbaijan, Cuba, Venezuela and Iran. Argentine diplomacy at its finest. Since the milatary there has been no government yelling words like “Nation” and “Dignity” so stridently . It's better to possess dignity than to talk about it, it's better to do something for the country's people than to play with nationalist feeling.”

    More Argentine hypocracy -

War vessels have diplomatic immunity - unless they are British.

Every time a British Frigate visits the Falklands they are militarising the South Atlantic but when an Argentine frigate starts patrolling the coast of Africa this is not militarising the South Atlantic.

The simple solution is for Argentina to pay its debts. It doesn't matter if those debts are owed to vulture funds or retirees. Just pay what you owe or don't borrow it in the first place.

Is Argentinian TV such a load of crap that they have to troll endlessly through youtube videos to find something “smart” to say. Rather pathetic and childish.
I suppose this will evoke another load of literary diarrhoea.
