The Argentine stock market Merval index fell the most in eleven months following on President Cristina Fernandez plans to overhaul securities rules and force insurers to spend more on industrial and infrastructure projects. Read full article
Ah, yes. CFK's economic miracle. At ths rate there won't be any risk of any foreign investors, or domestic ones either, putting their hard earned cash investing in Argentina.
She calls this 'regulating' the investment markets. What it actually will be is another way to get her grubby little mitts onto more dollars that don't belong to her.
I really do feel sorry for the people of Argentina. Their freedoms are being chipped away little by little by this mad harpy. One day they'll wake up and realise that they are living in a one party state, terrorised by La Campora trolls, and risk 'disappearing' if they complain.
I'm sure the usual Argentine poster will be on here refuting that, but it's true. Freedoms of the individual are being curtailed bit by bit and any dissent it's immediately labelled as unpatriotic or treasonous.
I'm not sure if posters are understanding the substance behind this proposal
It's similar to a planned economy like North Korea. The net result for Argentines will be less insurance companies to choose from and higher premiums. I sometimes wonder if there are any economists in the CFK regime. They don't seem to understand how markets work.
Lol Idlehands
You lot surely understand the market. That it left you for China is a big plot and a first step in your understanding. Everything is under control... :)))
The attack on credit rating industry as a fraud is no different to her attacks on independent groups that produce figures that are different to INDEC.
Do the ordinary Argentinians really want their government to control every aspect of their lives and allow them no access to information other than government propaganda?
I don't see how it is additional taxation as such. It is similar to the decree that importers must export an equal amount. It is basically telling insurance companies how they must structure their balance sheet.
An insurance company acts similarly to a bank in that it provides financial services. People who work for such institutions have no experience outside of the financial markets and are now being expected to invest in some government approved claptrap projects.
It will ruin their liquidity and returns on these investments will be lower than the capital markets (or they'd already be in there). Therefore profits will fall so premiums will rise. Foreign companies will simply abandon Argentina while this measure is in place (as others have over the export demands)
What CFK is doing is finding every golden goose in Argentina and slaying it for it's meat.
All right lets call it a form of indirect taxation, as a result of this policy forcing investment in government schemes, people will end up paying more for their insurance.
It is removed for [comment 13] in 05:42 Montevideo Time(08:42 GMT)
interesting for the web site who claims publishing place from Montevideo.
which no one believe it.
Article says:
1) ”A bill will be sent to Congress that replaces self- regulation of issuers and brokers with a greater role for the regulatory agency known as CNV. The proposal would also make trading cheaper, interconnect markets and eliminate the requirement for brokers to be stakeholders in exchanges”
2) “We’re going to modify the destination of insurers’ phenomenal amount of funds so they go from short-term investments of financial nature to long-term investments of productive nature. Insurance companies, which hold 64 billion pesos, will be forced to invest from 5% to as much as 30% of their funds in such projects.”
I say:
Well…….
Even the turnips can see why the ”Market” and it’s ”Free Press” are against this…..
IF it works out, as it very probably will, it will set a ”Dangerous Precedent” about how to control the Financial Market and the Bankers…….
Many Countries would wish to do the same today, but they don’t dare to risk the wrath of the ”Market” the ”Bankers” and their ”Credit Rating Industry”……
We in Argentina (closely supported by MercoSur) have very little to lose and very much to gain exploring those Market Regulatory Paths…..
I just hope that whatever administration that replaces the present one in 2015 continues the good work….
Article says (correctly):
”The benchmark dropped 3.59% at the close of Tuesday trading in Buenos Aires..
Article ”omits” to say:
Benchmarks dropped dramatically at Tuesday trading…….. Globally…
I say:
Let’s get some ”Market Perspective” ...........
“Argentina Vs The World” since the beginning of the ”Financial Crisis” in 2007…
Shall we........?:
@20 What point are you trying to prove with you obsession over time?
Are you not allowed to stay up after 9:00 pm?
People can log on any time to a computer when they are adult and not institutionalised. And many posters on here do not remain in one time zone. Also, journalists, for example, do not work 9 'til 5. (Or 10 'til 3 with a lunch break in Argentina)
You are wasting your time.
I think the Argentine stock market showed exactly what they think of the harpy's latest panic plan to grab money. The woman is bonkers.
Well if you look at the top of the page, you will see that they are using Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), which is equivalent to GMT but more accurate, as in it measures time in nanoseconds.
Why is the time so important to you?
Why do you support the suppression of freedom of expression by limiting access of South Americans to the internet?
While I don't necessarily agree with what many posters from South America say, they certainly have the right to say it.
Regarding the news item, this may well back fire on the Argentine government.
This will limit trade completely and goods that are hard to get now with the current restrictions, will be impossible to get if the Argentine government carries on with this economic lunacy.
Depends what you mean by independent - there are plenty that are independent of government influence - it's just they are all subject to the whims of their editors and owners.
I can't believe the Argentine posters on here actually applauding this mad woman's continued apocalyptic economic policies. They are either to stupid, paid trolls, or just down right crack pots.
The current argentine government is flushing your country down the shitter.
I'm wondering if we see different times on the posts depending on where we are in the world - as I can't see how Fernando can tell what time the comment was removed?
...there are plenty that are independent of government influence....”
you make just joke !
all press are tools of oligarchy ,you might think counter if you stupid.
& 30
You do say this web site publishing from UK ?
I say publishing from N.Ireland.
PS: (31) Jeffski.....
1) Would you care to comment about the charts I just posted?
2) Would you care to explain how those charts support your postulate about an ”Apocalyptic Economic Policy?
3) Would you care to comment how those charts support your postulate that The current Argentine government is flushing my country down the shitter?
You seem to be confusing oligarchies with governments. They are not the same unless you are a tin foil hat wearer?
NB As for the source of Mercopress all I can say is that I know for certain that they are not native English speakers and they are subject to DOS attacks (can't think for the life of me where from)
It baffles me that you can't believe a press source emanates from Uruguay just because you don't like the news it carries.
I appreciate this web site publishers..methodic job.
but
there can be more frankly to specify it's address..why hiding ?
very nonsense that publishing language is English (foreign language)
with very incoherent English written comments at the brink of Latin America where no one read and care these things in Latin America.
None of you ”Economical Expert Turnips” seem to be able to comment about the charts I posted above (and below)……
They send a crystal clear message…………., don’t you “Think”?….
As I said at my comment (21):
Let’s get some ”Market Perspective”
“Argentina Vs The World” since the beginning of the ”Financial Crisis” in 2007…
Shall we?
Well, I hope for the sake of the Argentine people it works. Centrally controlled economies have worked for some countries in some circumstances, though it looks like quite a step backwards for Argentina. If the intent is to mobilise internally available capital for investment in local business, which is a noble enough cause, surely the way to do it is to make that investment attractive with goor RoI rather than compulsory.
The inevitable fear is that nationalisation is for the purpose of control, rather than efficiency or benefit to the people. This move is bound to scare investors, and exacerbate an already difficult situation.
If you're links worked would be one thing, and if they were from a credible economic source would also be beneficial. Yahoo isn't known for it's economic savvy.
@38 - Tinx
Well if you don't like this site being in English, feel free not to visit.
English is, after all, the international language.
Do you know which country in the world has the largest number of English speakers?
I'll give you a clue, it's not Europe, the America's or the Middle East.
None of you ”Economical Expert Turnips” seem to be able to comment about the charts I posted above (and below)……
They send a crystal clear message…………., don’t you “Think”?….
But, of course, it is much Easier to discuss about what time it is in London with a Bulgarian troll……….
None of those links work!! I can't open any of them.
I can say this though. Argentina in the right hands could and should be a very prosperous country. If only it would stop trying to steal more lands that don't belong to them, and like other country's, stick to financial agreements.
Pay your fucking debts like everyone else has to, however painful.
Why does Argentina think it is acceptable to default on there debts, then blame the whole world for it!!
This will likely improve the economy as much as forcing banks to lends at rates below inflation and as well as the lottery for loans citizens to build homes at rates one again below prevailing inflation.
“It’s scaring away the few investors we had left,” Guillermo Maresco, a trader at Buenos Aires-based brokerage Nacion Bursatil, said in a telephone interview. “The Dow Jones Industrial Average is also falling, so we’re facing the perfect storm.”
Magic crop trouble are brewing right here in River City!
“It’s pretty clear that there are signs of weakness on the global growth front and so betting that the external environment is going to rescue Argentina from its self-made troubles is much too optimistic,” Daniel Volberg, an economist at Morgan Stanley, said in a telephone interview from New York. “There won’t be payments for growth this year or the next.”
What you all have to understand is that all decisions are made by CFK. She has economists and all kinds of talking heads around her...but she makes all the rules. Period.
They don't seem to work either. Try pasting a sentence from the website that I can then google. I'm getting nothing even when I google the key words in your link.
the Argentine people really deserve her, i like her polities, especially the wonderful pesification. I would have never thought that myself, what a brilliant genius this woman is....
CFK, CFK, CFK!!!! ..I support your campain of destruction of Argentina 100%
keep on the good work! you'll soon look like Sweden!
@58 - exactly right... Decisions on which projects to invest in will be led by the ministry of the economy. As if any spineless gov dept has autonomy from CFK!
Am assuming that the budget allocated to each project will be independently audited, and every peso transparently accounted for. Particularly the 'hotel refurbishment' and 'wedding venue new build' ones.
What was that about socialism and other people's money ?
What doesn’t a humble Patagonian do for his beloved Turnip patch…..
This time; whole new links to the Wall Street Journal……
Is that trustworthy enough for you?
@60, @61
Think's 5 year charts are a misdirection, the last 1 and 2 year show the real trend.
It has been in the last couple of years that the CFK government have been making mess of the economy, especially the last year.
@70 You mean since The Harpy got rid of Nestor and sacked all his advisors, replacing them with her over-indulged son and his buddies.?
I didn't much agree with Nestor's 'model' either but he might have had an idea how to change course when it was no longer working. CFKC does not have a clue.
Indeed I do understand the charts (have I mentioned my profession before) - but I'm curious to know why you believe posting them shows Argentina in a good light.
Muppets (both continental and Royal) still don't have their countries back.
And now its been revealed the island government uses the EU as a distraction tool to deflect their blame in the state of their floundering kingdom. Anything to keep the Muppets' bemused.
@20 Haven't you got anything better to do? Just as a thought, the time stamp seems to relate to the time the comment was posted, not when it was removed. Even then, the place of publication doesn't have to be the same as the location of the host server. And you don't seem to know a lot about computers or networks. For any machine/network over which I have adequate control, I can make the time stamp say whatever I want it to say. The easiest way would be a low-level sub-routine to offset the time stamp.
@23 You can't impound a website. A website is data. It might be possible to impound routers or servers, but if the owner moves the website you've got nothing!
@33 The UK and Northern Ireland are on the same time, you numpty. Get a life!
@38 Then go and read the Spanish version and stop wasting peoples' TIME!
@55 If you look back at argieland's economic history, right from the start, see who was controlling the economy when argieland did well. That's right! The British. The only times that argies have done well on their own is when no-one could have screwed up. All they had to do was leave things alone.
@78 What are you blathering about? Are you an alien?
1) Let me revert your question.......:
Do you believe those charts show Argentina in a bad light?
2) I don't need to prove nothing in here......
Besides; if the no-word despective is good enough inglés for the chicanos in USA, it is good enough inglés for me.....
Comprende?
You really should quote a name as well as a post number as I doubt many bother going backwards and forwards trying to work out who you are yelling at and about what.

Brainwash anybody?
PS:
I must take back my previous comment about you disrespecting the Argie war deads….
It wasn’t you….
I searched my memory (and the MercoPress’s archives) and found out that I had you mixed up with another Turnip called ”Wireless”…..
But I knew you were in my Turnip patch for some other reason……..
Your turnipy comments against a very fine, fellow Viking of mine….
Hey everybody!!! ..I figured it out!!! Listen: CFK is really a MI6 agent sent to destroy Argentina from inside, that way UK don't have to worry about future costly wars with Argentina. I puzzled it out, it's the only explication that makes sense.
You were the one that posted the links without any reference to why - I assume to try and bamboozle people. They're your links so it is down to you to state your purpose for posting them. You obviously believe they show Argentina in a good light.
Once you've done that I shall enjoy ripping your argument to shreds as only somebody that didn't really understand them beyond my line is higher than your line would have actually posted them.
As you claim to know my profession you will also know you'll need to tread carefully to avoid making an idiot of yourself.
@92 Not its an exotic vegetable cultivated in Chubut known as the mangelwurzel, occasionally misspelt manglewordel. Common name beta vulgaris (maximo?)
The insurance companies will
1) raise the percentages/amounts they invest in infrastructure
2) a committee will determine these investments
Will the Ministry committee determine only the amount a company must invest, or will the committee also determine in exactly what project the company will invest that amount?
Insurance companies, which hold 64 billion pesos, will be forced to invest from 5% to as much as 30% of their funds in such projects, she said. Their investments will be determined by a committee led by the Economy Ministry,

I will laugh and laugh it the crops are as bad next year as the last year
Think your 5 year charts are a misdirection, the last 1 and 2 year show the real trend.
It has been in the last couple of years that the CFK government have been making mess of the economy, especially the last year.
102. Without actually doing the research I am pretty sure over the last 75 years Argentina has fallen further and faster economically ( down the GDP Charts) than any other country in the world.
A little more accurate trend than the last decade of made up numbers.
DOn't forget the IMF wants ALL INDEC stats revised for the last 5 years, which means GDP too. I am pretty sure it will show their 8% growth was more like 5 and they've been in recession since Nov 11.
I always ”tread carefully” when closer than a mile to people of your profession…..
The kind of people that can ”rip any commonsensical argument to shreds” with smart ”finance lingo”.
The kind of people that can “bamboozle” others into believing that speculation pays better than production.
The kind of people that shifted billions of people on Earth from being poor….… to being even poorer.
The kind of people that created this global financial nightmare.
Those graphs show one thing alright, matey.
There is good money to be made investing in Argentina.
But………………......... Investing in production, not speculation.
All Argentine love CFK we support her policy 100% if the english people don't like her, it's perfectly fine since we elected her for Argentina not USA or UK, I invite them outsider to worry and fix their murderous terrorist state before dictating to the Argentine democracy. The english austerity is not in Argehtina , don't blame your problems on my country and take responsibility.
@108 Have you bought your ticket to Argentina yet? You wouldn't want to miss a chance to actually vote for CFKC, would you? If you are an adult, what is stopping you?
Please excuse the minor editorialising of your comment
“All Iranians love Ahmadinanutterjob - we support his policy 100% if the english people don't like him, it's perfectly fine since we elected him for Iran not USA or UK, I invite them outsider to worry and fix their murderous terrorist state before dictating to the Iranian democracy. The english austerity is not in Iran , don't blame your problems on my country and take responsibility.”
#109 me and all of my family vote for CFK at the consulate in Toronto. Our Argentine democracy is not like the USA and UK dictators who might not allow for this kind of freedom. But as you can see democracy and freedom is alive and ticking with CFK, with our youth being able to take part, if you have a problem with that vote for someone you like in USA or UK, Argentina did and we have CFK, now we wish she will amend the constitution so I am free to vote for her again if I do so wish, if she is a good president! why can't I vote for her? and why is this dictated to us rather then being an open and free act.
CFK is the best president we had in Argentina. Some stupid Argentine and english ignorants still miss menem and galtiery and those same people are cheering for macri. Lol blackouts anyone? http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=VkKnxOxnWuE
#111 what can I say I like to stand up against english, rapist, murderers and terrorist, while the terrorists like to spread their lies as you are doing here while I support CFK the democratically elected government of Argentine you are here spreading the seeds of terrorism. I do hope when the seeds give of fruits it starts at US or UK embassy. If not I will make sure people start their march from two embassys. As it should be done everywhere.
By the way did you find the WMD or do you like to just sow lies about everyone. The only truth about Libya is that it was filled with CIA, MI6 and mossad terrorist on NATO pay roll. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=NJ6VzwubxxA
why the hell are these people in Canada??? they should immediately return to Argentina. Argentina is the best place for Argentinians. In Canada they play ice-hockey, no one cares about football, there's cold, lots of snow and darkness.
“me and all of my family vote for CFK at the consulate in Toronto. Our Argentine democracy is not like the USA and UK dictators who might not allow for this kind of freedom.”
Guess what - postal voting is permitted for those eligible in US and UK.
#'120
We believe the WMD have been spirited away by you for use in your single handed invasion of the Falklands - starring in a youtube video near you.
As far as I can see, the only would be terrorist on Mercopress is you with your childish fatuous comments.
If you feel so strongly about it, do Canada a favour and go back to
ARGENTINA and start your plans for world domination there.
#121 I will return to Argentina when US, UK, Canadian people and corporates go back to their home, until then why don't you finish looking for the WMD and kill all the terrorists the english people trained all over the middle east? Don't mind us Argentine we are working for our elected president CFK. And we wish she would amend the constitution so I am free to elect her again if I do so choose.
#122 Tell that to #109 she seem to ignore the facts, and I wouldn't know anything about sheep's why don't you tell us how that works in Your country?
#123 did you actually find WMD ?. If not why are you spilling more lies about people? Didn't Libya blow back showed you how wrong you all are about Saddam and gaddafi and Argentina ? http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=NJ6VzwubxxA
When you find the WMD coma back I will listen until then stop wasting your time.
#124 she might be a child you child molester and we Argentines don't have to pay for sex, we have women and english homos stalking us 24/7, Stick around you might be able to witness who they are and you could do your molesting thing.
ever noticed when an arguement isn't going thier way it's always Libya, Iraq, Syria, Iran, WMD. All the subjects they haven't got the bottle to do anything about and it's all from people who don't actually live in Rgenweener and probably go for a drink after work with thier Canadian, US, Swedish workmates before coming on here and ripping the shit out of them for ANTI rg. Sad sad puppies, cowards and losers, nothing to be proud of and nothing to look forward to THINK!!!!!
#128 there are a lot of homos wanting to castrate me but I didn't think you were one of them its always good to know who the homos are so I can keep my ass to the wall and be ready to chop heads.
#129 that is a mistake Argentina doesn't want British illegal aliens occupying Islands Malvinas Argentina and for that reason we demand CFK to build a nuclear defence program 100% made in Argentina to end the illegal occupation of Argentina. We love CFK because she is not menem or galtiery who UK and USA loved sooooooo much.
well thats original ph you want a nuclear defence programme, well stop gobbing off and invent one, you seem to know about everything else so crack on and build one yourself, i'm sure think will help you, if it can get a visa and some dollars
He is a member of the famous whotheferkarewe tribe, easily confused with the wheretheferkarewe tribe, who were a famous plains Nomadic tribe, until white European settlers pushed them North to Canada. There they eventualy gave up their Nomadic ways and settled near Toronto. They were ferocious warriors renown for taking the passports of those they slew in battle, which they still display on coup poles erected at the entrance to their Condos.
#134 we Argentine are free unlike Brits we are not forced to stay in Islands Malvinas Argentina, sorry but that's the truth and I will go back when all canadian, UK and USA citizens and corporates get out of Argentine land until then you better keep quiet and get you illegal aliens out of Islands Malvinas Argentina or at least find the bogus WMD you killed sooooo many innocent Muslim women and children for. Other then that the only freedom you can take with me is tie my shoe.
#135 I am working on it I support CFK on building a nuclear defence program 100% made in Argentina every time I get a change and I will focus on it until I see progress, you will have to hear my support for a nuclear defence program 100% made in Argentina as long as USA, UK and Canada support Muslim terrorists all over the middle east.
#136 where are you from Europe ? How does that matter will it help you find the WMD in Iraq or will that help you rid the middle east of terrorists USA, UK and Canada trained and armed ? Lol that's silly I couldn't be a mapuche they are Chilean. There is no mapuches in Argentina we have patagones, diagitas, Tewelche. Mapuches are from Chile not Argentina, we gived them refuge for a while, but seems like its time to send back home, if they want their land back maybe you can arm them so they can go back to chile and liberate their leader from Chilean jails. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=NJ6VzwubxxA http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=NJ6VzwubxxA
I am Malvinista araucano and my people have being around before the Brits deported us from Islands Malvinas Argentina. I think there is a map of our kigdom somewhere in France.

CFK forcing Insurance companies to pay for infrastructure is directly related to the loss of WB and IDB loans, inability to fund YPF, electrical grid, sewer and water projects and any other crony capitalist project that can be found. She is bankrupting the insurance companies like she did the banks.
It is too bad the Rgs are too stupid to see what has happened.
The next time Argentina decides to default on their loans I doubt the Rg Congress will stand and cheer. They will be bankrupting, all of their banks, insurance companies and retirement plans.
The general populations has been fleeced and they don't realize it yet but they surely will either at the next default or when they retire and are wholly dependent upon the whims of an erratic gov't for their checks.
@140 ”you killed sooooo many innocent Muslim women and children Other then that the only freedom you can take with me is tie my shoe You will have to hear my support for a nuclear defence program 100% made in Argentina as long as USA, UK and Canada support Muslim terrorists all over the middle east.
So we support them now make your fookin mind up, we're either killing them or supporting them, your one fooked up puppy lad, don't think the US/UK/Canada, or any western power including Russia / China would be supporting anything muslim
I forgot to say, my last post is why I keep thinking this next crash will be much much worse than 2001 because they are not defaulting on foreign loans but on their own people. Big big difference.
150. Yes she is taking the $ to make up for loss of funding from FDI and WB IDB loans. They seem to always need an extra U$10-15B a year. ANSES lasted about 2 yrs until the $ ran out. NOw all the U$ investments have been converted to A$ bonds.
Only way out of this is hyperinflation to pay them off.
I really won't be surprised if Fiat, GM Ford pull out and move production to Brazil. Why bother making a profit when you can't sent it home?
Cristina Fernandez triggers further uncertainty and fears to markets and investors
In other words, if the markets don't change to become fair and honest, make your own rules.
That is a step in the right direction I wpould say.
Oh by the way, I hear that Cristina will be meeting executives from General motors at 6 PM BA time to discuss further investments folowed by the signing of additional infrastructure loans by the IDB. I guess that there is a not much fear into putting money into Argentina.
Then, to be followed by a late night meeting with the joint Chiefs of the Armed Forces.
#141 did you forget I don't talk to homosexuals? There is only one person here talking about my body parts and who knows what else you do in your spare time. But I think we know enough. We Argentine support CFK 100% and we demand she build a nuclear defence program 100% made in Argentina.
#144 I am 100% American unlike many europeans here I am native, you can make of me what you wish, it doesn't make a difference in my life or convictions.
#145 try that in Spanish, Portuguese, Italian or english, please. French is not my forte.
#146 CFK is a great president we Argentine support her 100% and we demand she build a nuclear defence program to protect Argentine from illegal British occupation. We also demand she places a Ghana tax on every imported goods to Argentina until a whole navy fleet is complete and operational. We love CFK. You are free to go back to USA when ever you wish, we don't need leaches like you in Argentina.
#147 lol sorry but USA, UK and can'tada don't have a copyright on hypocrisy, but trust me we all know you hate all Muslims even women and children they are the only Muslims USA, UK and Can'tada will fight face to face.
#148 lol still see WMD and terrorist everywhere? Wow what kind of drugs is Colombia, Mexico and Afghanistan sending you?
Here is something to make everyone here laugh at stupid. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=6EUR5Dh0zBw http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=6EUR5Dh0zBw
..and in another report, Fernandez was caught on microphone leaning toward Lorenzio and whispering:
..we should also announce how we are going to sprinkle fairy dust on all the financial markets and watch the magical spring of money flood our treasury so we can build further on the mystical model..
Note: this was only a parody and not an actual event..the author bears no responsibilty for similarties to actual events.
If you come from the continent of South America and now you live in the continent of North America, doesn't that make you an immigrant like those from the continent of Europe? Or no?
You know, living in Canada is probaly not bad. Many americans living along the border say that they really like going to the Canadian side, that it is much nicer and prettier there. The big drawback is if you don't like cold weather. It gets damn cold up in Canada. It is also expensive there . Too high taxing. I was at a hotle opn the US side of the bnorder and Canadians were arriving in the lobby in droves with huge packages of clothing, shoes, you name it. I asked why they were buying so much and they aid that taxes on items are very high. I told them, look at the bright side, you save a whole lot with free health care, that we don't have. They stood there and stred into the distance.
#153
How can you be 100% American with a name like Vargas - it sounds rather Spanish to me.
We know you have a nuclear fixation - why tell us ?
Get yourself to BA and see your President and DEMAND that she do something about it.
I think it would be a good idea to start a nuclear attack program in Argentina - it would be the quickest way to bankrupt your country.
Grow up son and join the real world instead of living in a fantasy land.
#154 i dont miss it its occupyed by UK and when they go back to UK I might consider going back.
#155 found the WMD yet ? Why are you even talking to me? Go do your job.
#156 that sounds like the mission completed in Iraq. I doubt CFK will lie and make a bogus WMD claim as US, UK and Canada did to murder innocent Muslim women and children all over Afghanistan, Iraq, Sudan, Egypt, Libya, sirya, yemen, Saudi Arabia and Iran.
#157 America was one continent when the Europeans arrived and it still is the same continent the border lines if for Europeans not us Americans. That is why it doesn't make sense for me to tell you where exactly I am from because the divisions is a European thing ours. The wall in USA is just a big joke. Not even a 14 year old Mexican has any respect for them borders.
#158 that is funny they both murdering blood suckers.
#159 there is a lot of racism here in the courts if you aren't white you are likely to be found guilty of a crime to deport you and on the way try to make you feel ill by demanding you enter a program. So now its my job to expose their racism.
#160 when the british illegal aliens leave islands Malvinas Argentina I might consider Canada and USA a separate country to be respected but as long as Islands Malvinas Argentina is illegally occupy ed by Brits there is no Canada nor USA there is just America from Antarctica Argentina to the artic, that's all.

Kretina, who is definitely the most useless and corrupt president on the planet today, does everything backwards. Merval is nothing but an issuer of WORTHLESS papers? Argentine = Stocks, that's an oxymoron!
@164 Pirat-Hunter
So the UK, who claimed soverignty over the islands way before you did AND won a war fought for the islands, is illegally occupying the islands? Or does that not get through your head? The claimed them first, not you. You guys fought for the islands, and the UK won. It is their land, not yours. It hass never been and never will be yours. If you want them so badly, go on and invade them again, and see how badly the UK will kick your ass even with the small military force they have present on the island.
islands, is illegally occupying the islands? Or does that not get through your head?
Short answer, No.
PH Alex Vargas is very angry, has a huge chip on his shoulder. He was/is fully indoctrinated, and Falklands are British does not fit with what he wants to believe.
You are wasting your time, reasoning with him.
If you look at his FB page, you will come to the same conclusion we have:
You want isolationism because you believe it won't add more problems.
Great, I agree, Argentina should become isolationist. Cede from the UN, IMF, G20, Mercosur, Unasur, OAS and any other international body that you belong to.
Then when you government continues to feck you all over, you may finally realise that all your problems aren't the fault of the rest of the world, but the fault of yourselves.
So instead of having 204 new problems, you'll have 2004 new problems, and you'll realise that they're all self inflicted.
By the way isolationism works so well for North Korea.
I expect you to be back Tobias, telling me how you want Argentina to be isolationist, but not totally because...insert some bizarre reason here.
Isolationism means just that. No contact or trade with anyone who isn't Argentine.
None of you ”Economical Expert Turnips” seem to be able to comment about the charts posted below……
They send a crystal clear message about the Argentinean Economy during the past five years of World Wide Financial Crisis…………., don’t you “Think”?….
Just one of you, ”Economical Expert Turnips” responded….. Only to try to revert the question, asking me what I “Think”…. :-)))
But, of course…………, it is much easier to discuss about what time it is in London with a Bulgarian troll……….
Or………….. insult an evidently deranged young Argie in Canada…
Enjoy....:
“Argentina vs USA”:
2007 / 2012 Wall Street Journal Comparison Chart: Merval = Blue / Dow = Red: http://preview.tinyurl.com/El-Think
Hmmm.....the fifth time you've posted your links without explaining why or what you believe they mean. I'm guessing you either don't know or don't want to say because you're not sure and don't want to look a fool. Go on - give it a go - I dare you :-)
Its clear if El Thinko thinks that comparing the market numbers against each other as a comparison he fundamentally does not understand the markets..
Each market operates as a entirely separate entity even if the markets do affect each other in different ways.
Really, I'm embarrassed for you if he thinks they are indicators of one countries performance VS anothers.
And if that wasn't enough the Argentine economy was quite clearly fueled on government spending which is obviously unsustainable if that is the main factor or one of them in economic growth and now we are seeing the obvious, the government is broke because the world economy has been slowing meaning less taxes (among other things), the economy is in freefall and good old CFK is accelerating the decline with her increasingly bizarre interventionist policies that have been nothing less than a unmitigated disaster.
I can only see a lot of lame excuses.... but not one real analysis of the Wall Street Journals Charts :-)))
Hopefully some deranged Argie or Bulgarian blogger will soon come to your rescue so you can make them look like fools :-)))
In the meantime you may continue with your street legends like:
(Wahh... Wahhh...Wahhhh)....”Cristina stole my 50,000,000,000 dollars and my pink Chihuahua,.... (Wahh... Wahhh...Wahhhh:-)))
As you have not provided a jot of your own analysis of the Wall Street Journal charts then why should anyone else? Others have mentioned a few points to consider but you have said nothing. I am awaiting your analysis with anticipation as I look forward to responding to it.
It is OBVIOUS that you've dug yourself into a hole with this - I'm just unsure yet if you know why?
If you think answering would be walking into a trap then you're right, it is. As a rule of thumb i'd guess 50% of posters wouldn't have a clue what to say about the charts, another 40% probably wouldn't be sure so would choose not to comment and the other 10% of us are just laughing at your misunderstanding of the data you have chosen to post.
I'm not going to offer a single comment until I've seen you wade into it further like a bumbling fool.
welcome to here the [Hard-Core ]s club !

You say……:
”Others have mentioned a few points to consider”
I say…….:
What have they mentioned to be considered?
The ~50% Peso devaluation against the Dollar during the past 5 years?
The ~35% Peso devaluation against the Euro during the past 5 years?
The ~20% Peso devaluation against the Real during the past 5 years?
That has nothing to do with ”these specific Charts”, matey….
You know it, I know it.
You say further…….:
”10% of us are just laughing at your misunderstanding of the data you have chosen to post”
I say……:
What have I misunderstood…..?
I only said that those charts: ”Send a crystal clear message about the Argentinean Economy…”
Well...... That’s OBVIOUS…., isn’t it?
So, my dear Mr. Idlehands…….
If you are fishing for payment for your ”Accounting Expertise”; I’ll have to dissapoint you.

But I would appreciate some free coaching from a high ranking professional as you :-)
We are asking Think what the crystal clear message is that he finds in these graphs and also what he thinks about the trends shown if you take the same over the last 2 years only.
Use different counrtymen names by different kinds of grammars and sentences technics to mask all up.
for example ...I use 3 other different names from a South American countries,Europe,North America by different styles...not explored yet this indicates us how they are loudmouthed mediocres.
I think it will be not hard for you....good luck for you.
You see i should wait on my continue comments contrary to someones.

The only crystal clear message from those charts is that the price of Argentine stocks on that index has risen in a wildly fluctuating manner over the last year.
Care to offer a suggestion why Mr Think?
I feel like a fisherman dangling a hook with a nice juicy worm on the end.
You say:
”The only “crystal clear” message from those charts is that the price of Argentine stocks on that index has risen in a wildly fluctuating manner over the last year(s).
I say:
Argentine stocks on that index has risen....
Risen ???
You mean ..... Risen as in augmented, ascended, increased, gone up, grown or soared ???
How can that be possible ???
In bankrupt Argentina ???
Please enlighten me !!!
PS:

I love how P-H makes up all kinds of excuses and barriers to returning to his beloved Argentina. If he had any balls or integrity he would be back on the next plane to offer up his services to Fat Max. The problem is, having deserted Argentina in tough times, I doubt he would be welcomed or have any credibility in Argentina.
Think does not have any opinions other than superficial comment.
..did you even understand that? Look at page 7. FDI into Argentina has risen by 41.7% - woohooo - you must be rich. Unless you look at the absolute numbers which show that you have 41.7% more FDI than sod all - which is still pretty much sod all.
Care to expalin the difference between H1 & H2 inflows on the link you proudly posted?
Well, It seems I will have to repeat a comment I made previously in another thread….:
”Let us take three South-American Countries vith similar number of inhabitants…
Colombia, ~43 million people. The ”Super-Darling” of the USA, the FMI, the WB, the Credit Rating Agencies, the WSJ, the FT, the Economist, Mercopress :-) etc… etc.. etc… during the last many years......
They got: 7,798 millions of dollars during the 1st half of 2012 in Foreign Direct Investment
Perú, ~32 million people. The ”New-Darling” of the USA, the FMI, the WB, the Credit Rating Agencies, the WSJ, the FT, the Economist, Mercopress :-) etc… etc.. etc…
They got : 5,440 millions of dollars during the 1st half of 2012 in Foreign Direct Investment
Argentina, ~40 million people. An ” Economic-Pariah State”, an ”Unsafe Harbour for Investments” according to the Credit Rating Agencies, the WSJ, the FT, the Economist, Mercopress :-) etc… etc.. etc…
(+A State that just had had the Chutzpah of ”Nationalize” the assets of one big European Oil Company)
We got: 5,388 millions of dollars during the 1st half of 2012 in Foreign Direct Investment”
In Short…..:
Argentina got, more or less, the same amount of dollars in Foreign Direct Investment as each of the other two ”Darlings” of the ”Financial Markets”…….
Odd…...................… huhhhh?
You sound jealous think that you have to lay out this DFI, label some countries in SA as muppets to the USA and then show Argentina receieved just as much.
Have you rolled out the default rates of each country?
Have you rolled out what foreign country made the investments?
Of course not.......partial pictures, incomplete analysis. It's like financial statements without stats....meaningless and worthless numbers.
It's not that odd considering all 3 nations you mentioned have FDI that is peanuts.
You should also consider that this relates to flows in the first half of 2012 which would have been based on decisions made in the previous couple of years.
You also need to consider the import export policy which has compelled importers to invest to ensure they have balanced trade. This will only continue short term. How long will Porshce want to stay in the potato & wine export market? The bottom line is that all stats relating to Argentina are skewed because CFK makes short term policy decisions to manipulate them.
Go find yourself another link to something that you don't understand
1) The latest United Nations Rapport (from yesterday) shows crystal clearly that Foreign Direct Investment is pouring into Argentina at the same rate and amounts as it is in some of the Internationally Best Rated Nations......
2) The Wall Street Journal Charts (for the last five years)
show crystal clearly that there is good money to be made by investing in productive stock on the Argentinean Stock Market ......
3) Nevertheless, the ”Braiwashed Economical Experts Turnips” are still in total denial and keep coming with lame excuses and even insults against hard facts and data from internationally recognized organizations and leading financial institutions. …..
4) Yuppppp…................ This is MercoPress alright ;-)
Since when are Peru and Columbia best rated nations?
Moody's has Columbia & Peru rated Baa3 which is pretty rubbish - though Argentina is even worse. Chile is the only place in south america with top notch ratings.
As for the wall street charts - they do not say there is good money to be made by investing in productive stock on the Argentinean Stock Market” particularly because the Merval - like nearly all stock indices take no account of the purchasing power of the currency the stocks are trading in. If you are Argentine then the Merval probably does make sense as it is better than keeping cash - but it is simply the least crap option. You'd be better off just buying US dollars - but that isn't allowed. No foreigners are buying pesos to invest in the Argentine stock market.
Think
Tour are more deluded than I thought If you think that an investor will invest in any shares based purely on the Wall Street Journal charts for the last 5 years.
Actually you are the one who comes across as lame and forever trying to insult other posters.
An article you might read - (bearing in mind it was written before the YPF fiasco, the further downgrading by rating agencies and ongoing problems with the IMF).

I wonder if this FDI Argentina is claiming is:
Repatriated Insurance Investments that CFK required
Repatriated Profits that CFK required
because
I have not seen CFK crowing about new factories etc in a long long long long time.
infact 72000 workers were laid off last month so....
where is this money coming from and where is it going?
Think, for all your tries at making our economy seem as though it is booming, it is not!!!!
YPF cannot even get anybody to invest in the world's third largest shale O&G field, Vaca Muerta. If our economy was the slightest bit favourable to investment we would be fighting off investors in Vaca Muerta!!!!!!
Simon, For some reason Think wants everyone to believe that all is well in Argentina and they the Prez is not as dumb as a box of rocks, apologies to the box of rocks.
I see rumors are circulating of a nationalization of unproductive farms...I am surprised it took this long...
The ”Economical Experts Turnips” are now talking about RUMORS instead of contesting any of the hard facts and data from internationally recognized organizations and leading financial institutions that has been presented to them.…..
Think you must be a poorly educated, mixed bred mestizo like the rest here. A turnip in your words.
SHOW ME THE MONEY....Think, what countries are investing and WHAT PERCENTAGE TO THE GDP?
What the UN reports is what is reported to them and that means INDEC....such a reliable source of information. According to Indec....Nestor is still alive and well with his hand up his 3o year old wife's ass as president. The great cuntina kirchner
I see nothing much has changed, El Think still has not learned to think for himself.
He still never answers directly anybody who questions his postings, his links always have facts that are the actual truth and cannot be refuted.
If anyone should question him, he calls them names and tries to insult their intelligence and hopes they will not realize that he has not actually answered them.
Think also seems to have added a few aliases to help distract from what is being posted in a thread.
@208 Still dodging the question, I see................
Tobias has really lost the plot with all his aliases and seems to forget which one he is posting under.
We also now seem to have an even greater number of pro Argentinian trolls pretending to live in other countries, their command of English and understanding of the countries they are supposed to live in is appalling.
But lets be honest as Think would say , its all Mercopress's fault, does that not sound familiar, a bit like - its never Argentina's fault!
The ”Economical Experts Turnips”, unable of contesting any of the hard facts and data presented to them.….., are now resorting to one of the oldest, most devious trick in their Turnip Book....:
ADULATION !!!
Calling this humble man of unadultered WASP blood for a Mixed Bred Mestizo*
Ahhhhhh....... I wish that would be truth......
Imagine being able to share my love for this land in Body as in Soul!
But no..... I'm not so fortunate......
Poor old expert think, still ignores any questions asked of him.
He feels that by posting any old twaddle like @218 we will all forget his total incompetence when it comes to a meaningful debate - a bit like CFK at Harvard.
Think, your charts are comparing turnips with lemons. There is no comparison between the movement of different stock exchanges, because they use totally different values.
221. Unless you take into account the massive depreciation of the highest U$/A$ exchange rate your NYSE /MERVAL comparisons are meaningless.
Even I don't think you are that dumb.
You are just trying to mislead with irrelevant data points.
As for Arg FDI, where is that U$5B from and where is it going? For gosh sakes they announce fake projects all the time real ones should be easy to find.
$450M PESOS...over 3 yrs...I'll bet you U$1000 in 2015 nothing has happened.
There is a good chance GM will have pulled out all together by then. This is why:
Argentina has proven time and again its willingness to break international contracts. It has a dreadful record of complying with international judgments and about a quarter of all pending cases at the World Bank’s International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) are with Argentina.

Oct 24th, 2012 - 08:52 am - Link - Report abuse 0The attack on credit rating industry as a fraud is no different to her attacks on independent groups that produce figures that are different to INDEC.
Oct 24th, 2012 - 09:12 am - Link - Report abuse 0An insurance company acts similarly to a bank in that it provides financial services.

Oct 24th, 2012 - 10:05 am - Link - Report abuse 0Well if you look at the top of the page, you will see that they are using Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), which is equivalent to GMT but more accurate, as in it measures time in nanoseconds.

Oct 24th, 2012 - 10:53 am - Link - Report abuse 0Maybe if your links actually worked people might bother trying to read them.
Oct 24th, 2012 - 10:54 am - Link - Report abuse 0The inevitable fear is that nationalisation is for the purpose of control, rather than efficiency or benefit to the people. This move is bound to scare investors, and exacerbate an already difficult situation.
Good luck.
Centrally planned economies only work if you don't compare them to market economies.

CFK forcing Insurance companies to pay for infrastructure is directly related to the loss of WB and IDB loans, inability to fund YPF, electrical grid, sewer and water projects and any other crony capitalist project that can be found.

What kind of infrastructure will these companies have to invest in?
This is just the government expropriating their money for what the government needs money for, isn't it?
Once they invest this money, could the Argentine Government seize their investments, in the name of the national well being?
150. Yes she is taking the $ to make up for loss of funding from FDI and WB IDB loans. They seem to always need an extra U$10-15B a year. ANSES lasted about 2 yrs until the $ ran out. NOw all the U$ investments have been converted to A$ bonds.

convert your Pirat-Hunter name to Piranha-Hunter

Oct 24th, 2012 - 10:47 pm - Link - Report abuse 0#155 found the WMD yet ?

@171 Got TTT yet?
Isolationism now
Isn't that what you and the other genius, Pirat-Alex, think will solve all of Argentina's problems ???? :-D
It may not solve all our problems, but it sure will ensure we don't add 204 new ones.

Oct 25th, 2012 - 06:03 am - Link - Report abuse 0You want isolationism because you believe it won't add more problems.

Oct 25th, 2012 - 12:30 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Why don't you compare it to how many bananas each country has? It is just as fair of a comparison

Oct 25th, 2012 - 12:35 pm - Link - Report abuse 0You should also consider that this relates to flows in the first half of 2012 which would have been based on decisions made in the previous couple of years.

Argentina has proven time and again its willingness to break international contracts. It has a dreadful record of complying with international judgments and about a quarter of all pending cases at the World Bank’s International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) are with Argentina. Can Argentina be trusted? Here there is certainty. The answer is no.
