The lazy sods in our NY office haven't turned up today either. It's only a bit of wind.

I'm supposed to be flying to the East Coast on Wednesday - I give it 50/50.

I would rather to listen a story from ElaineB who was in Ulan Bator/Mongolia luxury Hyatt Hotel where how inept and ugly Argentine servants serve her,...,instead of this number 2 fantastic comment.

I don't think Tinx can comprehend someone taking 2 flights in 1 year.

I guess so. It is hard to comprehend Tinx at all.

@8 I hope so but it looks pretty fierce. The storm will have passed by Wednesday, it is more a question of aircraft being in the right place. Tis all part of travel.

Maybe not Elaine......the average storm surge is around 4 or 5 feet and most of Atlantic City is under water. There is some serious concern over NYC subway flooding. Cancelled flights has reached over 8,000. Its mainly the wind holding steady around 90 mph (140 kph) and gusting to 115 mph. We typically get these storms in the peak of winter and mostly a snow event. Good luck with your flight Elaine. If you are flying into DC, they are expecting 25cm of rain tonight.

@10 Thanks. I have friends in D C that say it isn't all that so far, but I don't think the worst has hit yet. Even IF my flight goes ahead on Wednesday I suspect it will be bumpy. : ) If I have to reschedule, hey ho. Travel delays are an occupational hazard.

My friends in NYC are battened down. It is going to be a rough night there.

For all of those who have not lived in the East coast of the USA and are ready to make some silly a-s remark, criticism, or hoping the “Argies” were hit by this storm, I suggest that you Zip It. Devote some of your wasteful time to pray for some of the folks who will surely take a huge loss from this.

#12 I find it suspect that any REASONABLE post here would wish any harm to any RG. Well......maybe kirchner, she does more harm to the RG's than nature ever could........And I say this in the torrential rains and winds of Boston.

@12 Has anyone but you said anything spiteful? Stop stirring.

I have friends in the line of that East Coast storm and in Bs As that was hit by a huge storm today that caused damage, flooding and cost at least two lives.

I saw the flooding just outside of the city. It was pretty bad. In laws sent some pics and cars were piled up on one another
