    I think we must sadly be getting near to the point of breaking diplomatic relations with this sad tinpot excuse for a nation. State sponsored thuggery is the final straw.

    We get absolutely zilch from them except crappy wine - Chilean is far better and I am pleased to support their wine industry - only too pleased in fact (hic!) ;-)

    Until they change the government and leader any attempt at dialogue is pointless.

    I never have stated in my months here any issues with “losing” in the Falklands.

    Especially since I saw that conflict as immoral given the state of the world towards such conflicts in the modern age.

    The people of Buenos Aires stopped the British murderous expansionist campaign, because they wanted to set up a major colony in South America, the only continent without proper British domination. The British wanted a productive land, not the jungle, so they thought taking over the River Plate would be a cakewalk.

    I guess that makes us even.

    There is no such thing as a “Southern Ocean”.

    That was another vain attempt by the rest of the world to take over Argentine territory. Since any International Hydrological Organization matter regarding the change of an ocean feature requires the “yes” of a founding member and furthermore the assent of any nation directly affected by the decision... it was successfully vetoed by Argentina (against dozens of affirmative votes).

    The creation of such a furciferous entity would have meant that any Antarctic claim become “transoceanic” (across the ocean), which would have been surely played by the British, Europeans, and others as a “colonial” non-starter, in order to steal Argentine land and destroy our claims.

    PH lives in Toronto Canada. His parents brought him from Argentina when he was a younger child than he is, now.
    He went to Vaughan Rd Academy (High School) in Toronto. Its located in in the midst of subsidised low-income housing, known as “The Jungle”, locally.

    PH (Alex Vargas) has not been back to Argentina since they left, in the 80's.
    He stated on one post that he could not return. Indeed, he seems to have no idea about travel, not even across the border to the US.

    One has to assume he has no Passport for travelling. It's likely he is an illegal immigrant or has a criminal record. If he leaves, he may never get back into Canada or he may get deported to Argentina - too scary for Alex!!

It states only 6% would actually activily immigrate, and 5% of them to Australia or New Zealand (and who would blame them), I consider lots of things like shall I go to the pub tonight, that doesn't mean I'm actually going to do it, the FACT is Brits leaving to go abroad is at it's lowest number for years, so as I said before do some homework it makes you look lazy and misinformed.     I think you are being a little histrionic here. Where is the evidence that the entire planet seeks your subjugation and humiliation?
    If you ignore this forum then I think you will find that Argentina rarely figures in the world news. My only “quarrel” with your country is their attitude over the Falklands.
    Most of the posters here engage in rhetoric trying to win a point over the opposition and then the debate gets more and more pointed with each side claiming the moral high ground.
    Talk of nuclear war is absolute rubbish, Argentina is not a target as far as the UK is concerned. I have no hatred of the Argentinian people and I am sure that in the UK we have just the same mix of opinions and aspirations as the Argentinians and the rest of the world's population.
    Don't take this forum too seriously - there cannot be more than about 20 people who post regularly.

    We all ask the question, what were the german police doing during the night of the long knives on june 30th 1934 when the brown shirts were smashing jewish shops, and the answer was nothing. In this case, the Argentinian police were doing nothing while Quebracho, the millititant wing of the international terrorist group la campora were smashing up shop windows.

    Unlike with the 'National Socialist' movement in 1934 we would be wise not to leave this ideologically aligned movement unchecked. Otherwise, I dare say, history will repeat itself.

    Secondly, discussing the sovereignty of the falklands with these terrorists would be worse than discussing the sovereignty of poland with the nazi germans. It would essentially be a war crime, and devoid of any kind of morality.

    I would also say that this photo is of reasonable quality - probably better than someone who was a bystander and who caught it all on their iPhone. It looks like they took a photographer with them. This is looking more and more like a government job.

    I'm not sure if the uniformed person is an oversight (let's face it they are pretty inept at everything they try) or a more sinister message - “don't expect the police to do anything”. Mind you, if they can't pay their wages in the near future, they'll be no police anyway.

    The English don't like fair fights ? The UK have not had many “fair fights” . They have usually had to take on better prepared countries and still pulled through - with the help of friends such as Canada, who generously allow you to breathe their air.

    The last fair fight,we had on our own, was against a back-stabbing country - guess which one -who attacked a virtually defenseless Island and imposed military rule on them. With all your advantages as to location and manpower, you were well and truly beaten by a smaller force.

    I suggest you read the comment from “raferrari” who understands what can happen next: Montevideo or Punta del Este as base port, where several million US$ are spent buying supplies, to and from where the tourists fly in and out, where the tourists spend one or more nights in hotels and visit restaurants, bars, night clubs and casinos. Argentina stands to lose at least 50 million US$ in much neede foreigh currency if the cruises change base and avoid Argentine ports.
