Disclaimer & comment rulesThe idea is that the tax-breaks will lose income for the government, but they will stimulate much more economic activity and home-ownership - such that the broad-based tax-take gained will be much more than the narrow-based tax foregone.
Dec 06th, 2012 - 03:40 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I have found, from personal experience, that the outcome for the home-owner is that it becomes virtually impossible to get a jobbing building crew for private work; they are all off on 'high' wages on the big construction sites.
But it is marvelous seeing the skyline change almost on a daily basis,
.... so different from the UK where the skyline seems 'set in amber'.
