    I agree 1000% with CFK here. Bye-bye UN, IMF, World Bank, IHO, WTO, WHO, and i would dare to say the Antarctic Treaty too.

    Horrible organizations which are rotten to the core thanks to the corrupt northern countries and their abuse of those bodies to further their clutching at retaining international power.

    Let's withdraw from all of them, NOW!

    Yes Please!!! then the rest of us wouldn't have to put up with that pathetic whinning from KFC / TMBOA / Ol' Turkey Neck / The Harpy every time something doesn't go their way.

    It's bad enough they are a member of these organizations and don't adhere to the rules, all Argentina does is lower the tone anyway. It would be for best if they just f**ked off back under their rock and didn't come out again. Then the rest of the world could move on.

    I'll never understand how they managed to get into these organizations in the first place, surely there must be an entry code or something....

    How to make friends and influence people?

    Or in CFK's case, lie, steal and cheat.....

    Here's a novel idea how about honoring the deals you signed up too? How about showing some integrity, respect, decency and being an international country that others can respect? Take a look at Brazil or Chile for guidance on being a country other countries of the world and international bodies can respect.

    You are the makers of your own downfall, this has zero to do with UN, WCB, IMF and all of the other bodies and all to do with your own despicable actions.

    Playing the victim card no longer works and you're all out of excuses.

    To be fair, in countries where the presidential executive is used to pressurising the judiciary into making decisions that follow partisan lines it doesn't make sense for them to use the same independent courts that the rest of the sane world uses.

    My only question is, are they expecting to get people investing under these rules, because surely every major investor is going to avoid their bonds for the paperless nonsense that they are?

    Surely it's long overdue something was done about these Transparency International predators, and Argentina got its own Corruption Perceptions Index. Maybe INDEC could make one?

    Cristina Fernandez insisted that “the paradigms we were told we should follow have collapsed” and they have shown to be “unfair and inefficient with developing countries”.

    What she is saying is that she doesn't like the implications for collapsing countries;
    but what she means is she doesn't like the implications for her own collapsing economy.

    toooldtodieyoung (#6) says ... 'I'll never understand how (Argentina) managed to get into these organizations (UN, IMF, World Bank, IHO, WTO, WHO, etc) in the first place, surely there must be an entry code or something....'
    Unfortunately, poor nations always seek to join richer nations/groups so that they can improve their positions by grants, loans and preferential arrangements. And the supra-national bodies altruistically let them join.
    This often ends in tears when they over-extend themselves when it comes to pay-back.
    They then turn to politicising the (economic) entities and warp them into unusability .... 'unfit for purpose', like the UN.
    Sometimes they default and 're-schedule' to avoid repayment;
    they claim that the people to whom they owe money are 'vultures'.

    What she means by “regional litigation mechanisms” is that she wants to create legally binding bodies for south america that Argentina is able to dominate and manipulate in it's own interests.

    Argentina can't abide being a small fish in a big pond so they want to find one small enough for them to rule over.

    @2 Let's missile argieland into oblivion and see whether things improve. After all, since when was the removal of a cesspit a bad thing?
    @9 Back in the late 1930s, the world had a chance to avoid a catastrophe. Only one man saw the future. Winston Spencer Churchill. Britain failed. France failed. The United States failed. The Soviet Union was only interested in what it could steal. As a result of which, we had 6 years of total war. Although the USA only managed 4 years, the Soviet Union only fought when it had no choice for 4 years and, for the most part, France didn't bother. Only Britain, with the limited resources of its Empire, saw it through from the beginning to the end. And now it may fall to Britain, once again, to save the world from totalitarian dictatorship. There are obvious places to be destroyed. Argieland, Bolivia, Ecuador, Iran, North Korea, Pakistan, Palestine, Venezuela. Reasons for such places to exist? Then shouldn't we do what we failed to do in the 30s?

    Scrap Foreign and Diplomatic Services and install lawyers, all S American Emabassies surrender Diplomatic Status and turn their buildings into law offices.

    @43 Many of these people are subject to those conditions for various reasons. I don't want to make any generalizations here, because that kind of poverty is everywhere.

    Some people were born into it, and they live in an environment with nothing of marketable value. There are people that are willing to work for 12 hours a day selling vegetables, socks, handicrafts, or whatever they have to, because they want to be self reliant, because they know it's the right thing to do.

    The last class of people are the paco smoking, child molesting, murdering, thieving, animal abusing scum that take advantage of social plans as much as possible, and steal or sell drugs on the side for more money on top of that. They also have no work ethic and are a burden to their employers and the public they are supposed to be serving. These are Cristina's biggest fans.

    I do not think there will be another war over the Islands, least I hope there will not be, because next time the result will be the same and the cost to them, in human terms, far greater.

    In 82, they totally misjudged what the UK's response would be, how the hell they thought they could use force of arms against us and we would not respond in kind, is frankly, mind boggling. What planet had they been living in in the predeeding 80 years of the 20C!
