I have to confess that I've always had a bit of a soft spot for Berlusconi. He's the single least appropriate person to lead a country that I've ever seen (corruption charges, bunga bunga parties, insanely inappropriate public statements and all), but he is at least a likable bufoon and the what-the-hell-has-he-done-this-time game only makes him look stupid. Everyone else knows better than to take him seriously...

So when Berlusconi told the country to go fuck itself and he was off to promote his latest CD , he was just kidding? I guess sales were not good.

I kinda enjoyed his antics. He never pretended he was anything but a crook. I liked how he 'goosed' Merkel, jumped out from behind a tree to make her jump and - this is hilarious if you watch the clip - kept her waiting in a reception line while he chatted on his mobile phone. If looks could kill.
