Though plagued with flu and taking place largely in darkness, the recent visit to Norway by Members of the Legislative Assembly and senior government officials appears to have produced encouraging results and shone some light on possible developments in the Falkland Islands, according to MLA Dick Sawle. Norway is the perfect country to emulate.

And actually considering the climatic similarities, it would also be a great source of guest workers or immigrants.

The cultural differences between Norway and British-derived Islanders are also much less than for many other nationalities. So an easy solution to the labour shortage and low population growth.

The climate of the Falklands is not that similar to Norway; Norway is Arctic, the Falklands are temperate (Mind you today you might not think so, bloody hell it's cold).

I believe that everyone must express deep gratitude to Norway and the Norwegian authorities. What a contrast. Although argieland has nothing to teach anyone and is a waste of space, see how people over 9,000 miles away responded to a request for guidance. Thank you, Norway.

Hey everyone did you see what Marcos Alejandro posted?

This is all the reply that Marcos could muster after reading the article. This is what happens to a person that can't even bring themselves to repeat the lies of the Argentine government any longer.

I guess we should feel sorry for him. Rendered mute by an inability to lie any longer.

Marcos has his own source of personal bitterness towards the Falkland Isands. He lived here once but it didn't work out too well.

@7 Wow really? Loving the personal histories on here.

It's like I've stumbled across a whole new Smurfville complete with Botox Smurf, Chubby Smurf, Verbose Smurf (available in Canada), Ex-RN Smurf (may be Lying Smurf hard to know) and now Ex-Falklands Smurf.

I hear Looting Smurf has just been released to complete the collection.

Oh wow look. Malvinero1 has referenced a BLOG.

I especially love the line ”The Zionist run New World Order (NWO)“ followed not long after by ”Zionist controlled media“. Let's not forget this one ”various intelligence organisations such as the CIA, MI5/6 and Mossad all of whom control the United Nations and NATO who also form part of the NWO“.

But what I loved most were the amazing grammatical errors such as:
    ”and it’s Companies history“
”I wish to inform you Sir’s, these”

Also, the almost random capitalisation of many words was quite decorative.

I'm sure the Argentinean embassy in London is beside itself that it is lucky enough to get cc'd into this nutter's emails.

Here's another blog on the same site:
    http://dandare.wordpress.com/

And yes Britain is an ex-Empire. Thanks for highlighting that. Must mean there are no more British colonies then.

So what... no oil. Big deal. Will you leave them alone then? They're still rich.

As for continental bases? Huh? You really think Uruguay won't be happy with the income? I hear there's plenty of land available in the Falklands.

Yes we're all pirates. I'm feeding the parrot on my shoulder right now.

Quite pathetic really. I know how about you throw a few more HAHAHAHAHAs in because that adds so much intellectual depth to your statements.

Isolde: MALVINAS ARGENTINAS! Ahahahah DO you need some oil?
Argentina has the 3rd largest reserve in the world..
Which country has the most shale gas reserves outside of the United States and China?

    Canada? Nope.

    Australia? Wrong again.

According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), Argentina ranks third in recoverable shale gas reserves. Argentina has 774 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of technically recoverable shale gas resources, with more than half of that in the Neuquén Basin on the western side of the country.

The trouble is, Malvinero1, that we don't have the FDI to exploit Vaca Muerta. Neuquén's Gas & Petroleo (G&P) is doing its best, but has only been able to drill ONE well in 2012 and hopes to raise enough Local Direct Investment (LDI) to drill another in 2013. The well drilled in 2012 will raise the production of New Gas (NG) by aproximately 0.003%!!!!!!!

So we're not out of the doldrums yet, by a long way!!!!!

I think you are missing a basic point here. Even if there is no oil in Falklands waters, do you think the Falkland Islanders would wish to have anything to do with Argentina ? I think not !
The money only comes in when the fields are exploited and you will probably be ripped off by your dodgy government.

We do not care about the opinion of squatters.NOOO body in South America gives a damn about them....They are there only because uk wants them to be there. But unfortunately for them,uk is comming down.USA does not supports them, and Argentina is going up..........
Now think some years ahead....10,20, and the probability that uk is not inside a major conflict,is slim.....So in my opinion,uk will do a better bussiness,if they negotiate something favourable for them now, that they still have an advantage.....The further you strech it,the more probable the negotiation will be against uk.......The logical outcome is uk OUT of the SA... that is not your turf......bye bye uk from the SA......MALVINAS ARGENTINAS!!Malvinas, only 320 NM from Argentina......AHAHAHAHA poor deluded ex empire..

Hmmm so let's break down Malvinero1's posts because he takes a long time to say very little.

    He believes:
    *Falklands has no oil
=So. It has no oil. Nothing changes. They are still not subsidised. And still British.

*Cameron and others are ripping off people
=So. As long as it isn't you and people aren't rioting then they don't care.

*But if there is oil then the FI can't use Argentinean ports
=So. They'll process it in FI or use Chilean, Uruguayan or Brazilian ports. Money usually overrides lip service.

    *Britain is an ex-empire
=Yes it is. It has no colonies now.

    *Britain is sinking
=And yet it will still have about 20 million more people than Argentina in 40 years and still have a larger economy. Countries have economic crises all the time-remember Argentina in 1999? They bounced back. All countries do. UK will too.

*Argentina has lots of oil and gas.
=That is awesome news. Congratulations. Now exploit it as you wish.

*No one in South America cares about the Falkland Islanders
=Thank you now can you leave them alone?

    *The US doesn't support Britain
=The US is ambivalent. There is a difference.

*The UK's future may entail other conflicts so they should negotiate now
=The UK has the ability to do many things at once as its a developed country. It is relatively declining compared to some countries whereas Argentina is absolutely declining. It is stronger now than it was 30 years ago and Argentina is weaker. The next 30 years will be no different. Argentina will give nothing for the Islands now so there is no difference in waiting.

*The Falklands are only 1,500 kms from Argentina
=Thank you for the geography lesson. Distance does not equate to sovereignty. Hawaii is 4,000 kms from the US mainland. Argentina is 0 kms from Brazil. Lesotho is not South African because it is an enclave.

Please find some new material and facts.

    @19
“They are there only because uk wants them to be there”

The UK has no say in FI immigration policy.

The Islanders are there because most of the inhabitants were born there or the people that have moved there can hack the conditions, so want to be there.
No one is forced to move to the Falklands, and some people can't hack it and move back to UK.

“Now think some years ahead....10,20, and the probability that uk is not inside a major conflict,is slim.”

Within 10 years time we will have two massive aircraft carriers, the Meteor air to air missile, more T45s, and the F35 V/STOL fighter which means it won't need a runway to operate from.

What massive quantum leap in wealth and technology is Argentina going to use to usurp this then?

“.......The logical outcome is uk OUT of the SA... that is not your turf..”.

    Well it is our turf.
Ascension Island, St Helena, Tristan da Cunha, Gough Island, The Falkland Islands, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands are in the South Atlantic.

    God knows, we've got them!
One thing for sure, he doesn't like the British.
George Galloway has some good points, but he has many bad ones.
We are better off without him.
When it comes to his views on the Falklands, l would consider him to be a traitor.
