It is a silly and childish stunt but then again it just reflects how silly and childish CFK was in doing the same thing.

And the Argies respond by burning copies of The Sun and the Union Jack, in front of Cruise offices (Am not Joking either, its in the news just not on Mercopress) - Guess they don't like. Meanwhile there is no public reaction to CFK's advert, other than the usual roll of the eyes accompanied by a sigh and thoughts of, when are we going to say enough is enough and put these Argentine idiots firmly in their place.

The funny thing is that none Buenos Aires Herald is Newspaper for foreigners English mother tongue.

The 99% or Argi population have no idea of its existence.

I guess that the ad in Mercopress will have more impact than in BAH.

I hope Murdoch have a good insurance because Queen Cristina can send some SIDE killer to take care of the idiot with a 50 caliber.

@7 I think you could be right. When I was living in Buenos Aires the BsAs Herald was on sale in every newspaper kiosk.

And, of course, the other newspapers picked up on the story and reported it.

I think the Argentine plan must be to deter all cruise ships from Argentina; it appears to be working.

True, but then any form of publicity that exposes the facts of 1833 (even if in this case glossed over) and combats Argentine propaganda is not a totally negative thing. As bad as the Sun are, their staff seem to be more aware of actual Falklands history than the so-called intellectual Guardian.

    @4
“I hope Murdoch have a good insurance because Queen Cristina can send some SIDE killer to take care of the idiot with a 50 caliber.”

Is Corned Beef Kate, the darling of 'Junta Pirate Radio' from 1982, still alive then?

“The funny thing is that none Buenos Aires Herald is Newspaper for foreigners English mother tongue.”

The even funnier thing is that you thought the news would not spread to other Argentinian newspapers.
    @6
“i remémber oñce Robert Mugawe had said “” UK hands óff ....“” !”
Well I remember that once Zimbabwe was the second wealthiest African country.
It like Argentina, has gone down the 'Everything is Imperialist Britain's' fault route whilst systematically ruining its own economy and killing its own people.

Zimbabwe today is basically a burned out shell with much internal suppression-and guess what? Mugabe and his Mrs have stashed loads of their countrymens's money overseas.

    Let's compare with Argentina.

When Argentina had good relations with the UK (we built your railways and meat industry by the way) it was amongst the 5 wealthiest countries in the world, in fact on a par with or richer than the USA.

Since going down the 'Everything is Imperialist Britain's fault' route, Argentina as a nation have nosedived.
In the meantime 30 years ago (ie that's more recent than the 19th c.)they also managed to massacre their own people.

Although they are not as burned out as Zimbabwe, guess what? Their great leaders have stashed their countrymen's cash abroad as well.

    Similar themes eh Tipsythink?

@4 Got some suicide squads, has she? And do you realise that such an action would be a “casus belli”? Perfectly reasonable, after such a war crime, for us to turn Buenos Aires into rubble. You do understand what cruise missiles from Royal Navy submarines and Royal Air Force combat aircraft could do, don't you? And, you never know, we might be so upset that a Vanguard-class submarine might launch a missile or two of its own. Are you and P_H connected? You're beginning to sound as stupid as he does!
@9 I understand your thought BUT the advertisement from The Sun makes a point. The views expressed are not just those of the British government, but also those of the majority of the British people. CFK should not make the mistake of thinking Britain is like argieland. WE are quite capable of telling our government when they get it wrong, something argies aren't allowed to do. But any British government that fails to support and defend the Islands will be out of power in days. The people of argieland have no equivalent influence.

I doubt Murdoch gives a flying fig. Generally The Sun will give its' readers what it thinks they want. That is what newspapers do to retain readers. It would have been an editorial decision, not an owner's decision.

Generally the media showed CFKC as she is, mad, bad and out-of-control. 'Desperate' was a word often used before reporting on all the domestic troubles of Argentina. It puts it all in perspective.

@22 no doubt Crustina is a crazy is wild pig sh*t, but the sun has lost a lot of readers in recent years, but am i glad they did it? hell yes, regardless of their motives it gives the argentine people something to think about, and how they are being distracted, and at worst being led blindly into another conflict they will not win, as for the protests and UK flag burning ive seen bigger angrier crowds in a a taxi que on a saturday night.

The Buenos Aires Herald is owned by a Kirchner crony, Spolsky, so there will be no backlash.

This is part of the Kirchner end game, keep the plebs watching the Falklands, the cruise ships, and the rest of the conjuring tricks, but make sure they don't see the rise in street crime, the rise in inflation (now at 30%), the rise in unemployment, the rise in poverty (over 22%, up from 8%), the attack on the independence of the judiciary, the attack on the freedom of the press (Ley de Medios), the tightening of the dollar clamp, etc!!!!!!!!!!!

Good to see the Argentinian version of history being publicly contradicted, this is what needs to happen, the Argentinian half-truths, misrepresentations and downright lies need to be challenged and rejected, every time, all the time.

I suspect that this is actually a pivotal moment in this, because with this and other responses to the CFK letter, many Argentines will for the first time learn what actually the British position is on this matter, rather than what the Argentinian Gov has been telling them the British position is.

    Two completely different things.

May not make much difference to what is believed, but they will begin to realise what they are up against, and then that they are losing the argument.

This will also have the effect of focusing world attention on the referendum, absolutely not what the Argentinian administration wants to happen.

The swansong of the Malvinas will, for all practical purposes, become the death knell of Argentinian colonial ambitions in the South Atlantic.

    Then there was the Antarctic!!!!!

    @4 PummelKopf
I think you will find that Murdock has far more money, and much better security and hit men than Queen Cristina has.

It is her that needs to watch out in that argument, she will be messing way above her league against him.

Well argentina seems to have reacted to the add like the self pitying, impotent crybaby we know it to be by screaming in the streets, burning flags and copies of the BaH, and attacking a ship from the Bahamas under the delusion it was British

How could any nation have become so utterly pathetic is beyond me, but it seems clear that argentina is more than deserving of the contempt with which it is treated by the rest of the world

A ridiculous FI related article below from 'The China Post', showing a lack of humanity and democracy, pretty scary...

'Argentina must be a bigger bully to fend off John Bull - As a matter of fact, the question of the nationality of the islanders can be quite easily resolved, and whether or not that question is resolved is actually of little consequence.
Considering the small number of islanders, Britain can easily repatriate and resettle them in the British Isles or grant them the so-called British National Overseas (BNO) passports as it did to the former “British subjects” in Hong Kong before and after the 1997 handover of the former British colony to Communist China.....'

    Well..............

The Morning Star is a left-wing British newspaper with a focus on social issues........

The Morning Star supported the National Union of Mineworkers during the 1984–85 strike and it still campaigns for the ”Clean Coal Industry” to be rebuilt.........

The Morning Star advocates a ”Two-State” solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and calls for Israeli withdrawal from Palestinian territories........

The Morning Star opposed the Iraq War.......

The Morning Star opposed the Afghanistan Invasion.......

The Morning Star takes a pro-Irish Nationalism line on Northern Ireland......

The Morning Star is Eurosceptic and supported the No2EU platform in the 2009 European Parliament election.......

The Morning Star is critical of the upper or ruling classes......

The Morning Star defends peaceful protests and civil disobedience and industrial action by workers to improve working conditions and wages......

The Morning Star is concerned with environmental issues and supports environment campaigning groups.......

The Morning Star advocates unilateral nuclear disarmament........

The Morning Star has, during the last years, carried contributions from Uri Avnery, John Pilger, Derek Wall, Ken Livingstone, Jeremy Corbyn, John McDonnell, Caroline Lucas, George Galloway, Alan Simpson, Martin Rowson, etc..........

    @37 Think

The Morning Star is a extreme Left wing paper. It was founded in 1930 as the Daily Worker, the organ of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Great Britain.
A general trend from the far left is to see the UK as a capitalist right wing nation allied with the US and so support everyone we have a dispute with, without looking into the circumstances.
But at least some of the far left have done their homework on this issue, see the link below..

Its either sad or encouraging(?) when a so called 'intellectual' paper like the Guardian makes no attempt to examine the history of the Falklands, whereas a paper like the SUN has staff that have actually researched the history. the Sun are brief (as you would expect): 'Tale of Polite Seizure.'
“A Buenos Aires bid to set up a penal colony there ended in 1832 when soldiers murdered their own commander. John James Onslow, captain of HMS Clio, then sailed out from Rio and politely informed the local commander: ”It is my intention to hoist tommorow the national flag of Great Britain on shore.“ Far from expelling Vernet's settlers, Onslow urged them to stay. Of the 33, only 4 left. In the first test of public opinion , almost 90% voted for British sovereignty-by staying put. As acts of colonialism go, this was not so much ”blatant“ as courteous and entirely bloodless.”
And a quote from an Argentine (in the Sun). Fabian Cebron, 44, a courier, said: “I thought it was obvious the Malvinas were Argentine and the British were keeping a colony. But then I didn't know until I read the Sun's letter that the British had sovereignty before the Argentine Republic existed. That changes things.”
'Mrs Kirchener refused to comment through her office yesterday.'

    Another own goal by CFK.

Well Think as Skandavovian immigrant on Welsh Patagonian terretory Y Wladffa you know how the original colonists of a vacant land are treated. Wont ask where you live: Porth Madryn, Trelew(is) or Trevellin I wonder? Hen Wlad fy Nhadau? If it werent for the Welsh introducing irrigation into your province you would still be a desert. The Welsh got on pretty well with the indignous population. So you are just another colonist who stole the land from thier rightful(?) owners. Read Llewelyns novel “Down Where the Moon is Small” Its boring but might give you an insight of the history of your province.

“Just when things are going badly for David Cameron over his defence of Britain's colonial grip on the Falklands, Rupert Murdoch's Sun comes in to make things worse”
“There is no Falkland Islander nation. The current population of the islands consists of 3,000 settlers from Britain living 8,000 miles away from their native land”

@60. For all the retorts to perceived personal slights (real or imaginary) on forums, the Falkland Islands/Malvinas dispute is a political dispute, not personal

I'm sure individuals of all nationalities who post on forums are perfectly decent and nice people but simply human when it comes to debate and change styles to suit how they feel at that moment

The “go home” sentiment applied to immigrants seems an unpleasant and unreasonable one to me for descendants of immigrants who are born in a place and have always been there. The people in a land are native to that land and know no other place. The place they are born and grow up in is there home. It is in their heart and soul; that is where they feel they belong

For a native Islander, Britain would feel no more like home than Spain or Italy would feel to an Argentine born in Argentina of Spanish or Italian descent.
The application of this stereotype is a political means to scapegoat the present day islanders and to justify their political persecution and segregation from the rights of the majority. That's why this type argument is morally and ethically misguided and wrong

@31 - WTF is the Morning Star? oh i know, its a unheard of paper that is so crap that they are having to request people donate to them so they can continue to exist. Hardly surprising considering the shit they sprout.

So a hand full of journalists write articles for it, therefore making it nothing more than an online news blog containing their own personal opinion and not a real newspaper, or media outlet. As for the author of the article calling The Sun a rag, well his blog is nothing more that a piece of virtual opinionated crap - Hell they can not even afford to publish without donations and do not even have a version in print, says a lot really really doesn't it lol!

Argentina is in an economic mess with inflation up there with four other dictatorships.

I'm not so hopeful you will give up being arrogant. You have a lot of learning to do before you start giving English lessons. There are at least 16 tenses in English, and a native speaker will easily understand what Beef wrote. Your suggestion would have read 'I went and work in China' which is grammatically wrong since it mixes the present and past tense.

I don't know most of the contributors you list but if you knew the reputation of either Ken Livingstone or George Galloway, it might have stopped you posting this. Livingston was found to be a bit dodgy with his tax returns and had a habit of finding more postal votes in his council wards than there were voters. And Galloway has changed his politics as often as necessary to get elected and appeared on Celebrity Big Brother worryingly keen to pretend to be a cat... the less said about him having his tummy rubbed and purring the better!

As a Liverpool FC supporter, my feelings about the Sun won't need explaining, but occasionally a troll getting trolled can be quite satisfying. And the Sun is one of the biggest trolls out there. Mark the difference in response to the two ads in the two countries and you'll see my point.

David Cameron has warned that he is ready to fight another war with Argentina to prevent that country seizing the Falkland Islands.

He told BBC 1's Andrew Marr Show: “I get regular reports on this entire issue because I want to know that our defences are strong, our resolve is extremely strong.”

Asked if Britain would fight to keep the islands, he replied: “Of course we would and we have strong defences in place on the Falkland islands, that is absolutely key, that we have fast jets stationed there, we have troops stationed on the Falklands.”

I s'pect we're going to be getting more and more of these stunts -- and they *will* escalate -- as we approach the referendum and certain rusty cans that kept being kicked down the road hit the upcoming walls. I agree with posters elsewhere that we will also see challenges to the Falklands EEZ and that too will backfire given the number of countries that have “shared” EEZ zones, some of them friendly some of them not so much. It will be clear that such a cowardly cynical move was to pick a fight with the BMOC by going after his little sister. We'll get more fond and proud recollections and revisions of their Dirty War's last gasp with childish and depraved cries of “The Malvinas is Argentina!” when other countries hang their heads in shame over their past war crimes (when is the last time you heard Angela Merkel having her people cry “Sudetenland is Germany”?) And we'll see more incredibly stupid “college-educated” comments here about how Argentines have absolutely no faults, how Baathist Iraq is the moral equivalent of Poland under the Nazi jackboot and Argentines pretending to be progressive Americans or Europeans not only making the mistake of not only being overtly racist and antisemetic but using the wrong epithets. @88 yes, but if you read the Argie press you can see they've taken his answer completely out of context. The programme interviewed him for absolutely ages and his Falklands comments were in response to one answer he gave shoved in at the end of the programme, it wasn't even treated as an important point.
If you look at La Nacion, you'd think it was a public statement made as sabre rattling whereas the actual question he was asked was if he was prepared to defend the islands in case of attack, there are troops there so of course the answer is going to be yes. There's no major revelations here or anything new in the attitude towards Argentina or the falklands situation. Great, how the press jumps on these things and mistranslates them completely, and deliberately. I'm not saying the UK press don't do the same, but the papers know they sell more by being sensationalist, and that sensationalism feeds ignorance and nationalism. Sad.

Military. Ok. Kudos. Everyone knows that the last thing to wane is military power when a country declines. First economic growth, then innovative culture, then military power backed by growth and culture. But then the economic engine ceases, moral turpitude descends... but you still have a military legacy. That has happened all throughout history. In 50 years you will lose that as well as your military mirrors your decline.

@106 Nostrolldamus The 5th (#) Thats the most retarded thing ive ever heard. It well known that Sir Tim Berners-Lee invented the WWW. Using your logic, then whoever invented the Car, didn't really invent the Car, because it uses wheels, and a combustion engine, which were invented by other people....

We also invented RADAR, CATs eyes, discovered DNA, developed Beta Blockers and Birth control Pills, the portable defiblirator...............To name but a few of the many achievements of the British of the 20th century. All of these things contribute to the saving of millions of lives, and the development of important technology. To put it simply your argument is god-awful.....

You ask a question . When its answered, you promptly move the goal-posts. What you call a decline still leaves the UK way ahead of Argentina. The most important thing, is to stay ahead of the curve. While you stick to your crystal ball. It's the same mindset as Argentine policy. Classic bully mentality. Proof positive of the intention to export the Dirty War and expose the Falklanders to the same reign of terror they had on their own citizens as soon as they felt confident that the UK would defend their fellows. Secret police and their “files,” threats to kill noncompliant islanders, undocumented land mines, playing russian roulette with civilians detaining civilians illegally in unmarked buildings in a war zone, shooting from surrender stances, medical facilitates used to support hostilities, undocumented land mines, and in the end, the cherry on top, intent to use the civilians of Stanley as human shields as defeat was inevitable and imminent (which caused Menendez to surrender before facing unavoidable charges war crimes that no act of “grace in victory” could override). The revisionist history spoon-fed to Argentines so they could sleep easy about their failure to overthrow the Junta before it became the Falklanders and UKs problem (and how the UK's humiliation of the Junta's henchmen on the Islands caused the Argentines to finally rid themselves of the Junta, years late and pesos short for its victims) is not going to last forever. The rest of the adult world knows that Argentina forfeited what minuscule small moral claim to the Islands that any sane country could claim.

I see someone who CAN'T ARGUE claimed “Everyone knows that the last thing to wane is military power when a country declines. First economic growth, then innovative culture, then military power backed by growth and culture. But then the economic engine ceases, moral turpitude descends... but you still have a military legacy. That has happened all throughout history. In 50 years you will lose that as well as your military mirrors your decline.”

If there was every an example of a country ABSOLUTELY declining and not just RELATIVELY declining it is Argentina.

To think that once Argentina and Australia were two of the wealthiest countries. And now look at the divergence. Australia is indeed one of the richest and most stable countries on Earth. Argentina is so far behind that it can't even be categorised with Australia any longer.

Argentina has short bursts of growth followed by terrible destruction of wealth and hence is now much poorer than Australia and Britain.

Argentina's military has been starved of funds because the government is too scared they will take over. Australia and Britain never have this fear and both have efficient and lethal defence forces.

Argentina doesn't innovate. Britain's innovation and inventions are extensive. Australia, younger and smaller, less so but still extensive. If you are using the internet with a wifi connection then Britain and Australia accepts your thanks as the countries that respectively invented them.

Britain's economic engine has not ceased. For someone who can't argue's supposedly extensive use of archaic english, you would think he would know the difference between recession and depression or implosion.

Moral turpitude….. LOL really doesn't convey the laugh I am having. Did you recently apply for travel to the US? Which country recently had looting?

@144 Do try to understand, little slob. If I piss, you'll drown. Would you like to list all the periods when argieland didn't protest? Or do you just want to wait until someone comes along and tells you? What invitations to A court of justice are you talking about? Ones where you'd already “fixed” the court? Like the time you suggested arbitration with Paraguay as the arbiter. Just how many times do you have to be told that all your UNGA resolutions are irrelevant. Was it too much for you when Ban Ki Moon said that Britain wasn't in breach of ANY resolutions? As for C24, mercosur, OAS, unasur - all irrelevant. Or shall we tell you what Devon County Council says? But you have a double misfortune. You are an argie imbecile. Twice as thick as a “normal” imbecile. Mental age of four. DAYS.
@147 Wrong, Whortense. Try this. No war. Correct, we'll just be squashing a bug. No weapons - See above for how you can be drowned. Irrational? - Shut up then. More dialogue? What do you want to talk about? If it's the Falklands, don't waste our time. More diplomacy? We're polite. More peace? We haven't bombed you. Yet. We're not interested in “arguing” and we have all the rights we need. Goodbye.
@149 Congratulations, you're really getting the hang of copy and paste. As for the rest, you have to understand that there is no racism. Argies aren't a race. Being “genetically superior” is open to question. However, in the case of individuals such as yourself, mental inferiority is an obvious FACT. I'm happy to agree that not all Argentines, possibly, are inferior scum. It's just that you are. As for argieland being the worst place on the planet, I'd have to agree that it's not. “You can't prove a declining standard of living...”

Indeed I can. For those that understand, even a tiny amount of economics, know that extremely high inflation and low growth lead to a decline in living standards. Savings are decimated and consumption is bought forward to compensate for the continual loss of spending power. Poorer people are disproportionally affected as a larger proportion of their income is needed for living expenses.

“If you really loved Argentina, you would not lie so toothlessly about the place.”

An extremely silly and juvenile statement. How can love be conditional? And please list all my lies about Argentina. Love is not being a sycophant. And being patriotic is not unswerving and unquestioning loyalty to a government. It is knowing what is best for your country. My current government has done some good and quite frankly a lot of bad-I look forward to them losing an election this year. My country is not defined by a government. They are there to enable not control.

“You are new here. It won't be long till you tire of the “rational” poster façade that actually insist he likes argentines, and you fully come out of the closet...”

Unlike you I do not hide who I am. You are right I am new here and for that reason you know very little of me. Just because you reek of your own disappointment and compromised your own standards, please don't ever presume to know mine. Unlike you, I am a confident and secure person with a sound personality and I don't abandon my own standards in a vain attempt to fit in or lower them when cornered. If you are waiting for me to drop to your level then it will be in vain, though I am sure you will spend the next several years waiting and hoping.

I am not above the odd snide comment or quip, but unlike you I do not schizophrenically oscillate between attempts at rationale dripping with delusions of grandeur and manic desperation.

Only one of us wears a façade here.

The Foreign Ministry issued a statement in which he asks the premier to “not use the legitimate and peaceful demands” made by Argentina in international fora “to continue to support the arms industry, rather than alleviate the severe social crisis being experienced Europe ”.

The response of the Palacio San Martin insists Britain require that meets “the obligation to accept the resolutions of the United Nations to resolve the issue peacefully Falklands”.

“The aggressiveness of the words of British Prime Minister confirm the complaint made by the Republic of Argentina to the United Nations about the militarization of the South Atlantic and the possible presence of nuclear weapons introduced by the colonial power,” said Foreign Ministry.

During an interview with the BBC, Cameron said it is “absolutely essential to have fast jets and troops stationed in the islands” and stressed that his country “has one of five defense budgets in the world.”

Therefore, the portfolio by the Minister Héctor Timerman asked the British premier “do not use the legitimate and peaceful demands” that Argentina made “against the usurpation of part of our territory and against colonialism as an excuse to continue to support the arms industry rather than alleviate the severe social crisis currently affecting Europe. ”

Well at least there can be no ambiguity on Britians response to any Argentine aggression can there? Cameron was asked a question and he answered it, if attacked, the UK has the political will and the military strength to defend the Islands. As for the stupic comments made by Tinman on the use of Nuclear power in the South Atlantic, well that just shows what a childish concept he has on the subject. A common mistake made by powers who have never had nor understand the responsibilties that come with being a nuclear power.
All he is doing is to up the rhetoric, plain for anyone to see and frankly laughable.

I think Timmerman is employed by the UK or USA. He certainly is not a good spokesman or strategist for Argentina. I will bet my left hand he is the one who put the advertisement in the Guardian and has subsequently fortified the UK people behind the Falklands.

He is one of the most stupid diplomats in the last decade. I find if impossible someone is that deliberately dumb and still had a job.

I agree. He would be much better off advising her to back off and use quiet diplomacy, because every time she goes public, it seems to backfire spectacularly, all it does here, is to increse the British publics resolve.
You have to wonder if she already knows that and has people are saying, is meley using the issue has a distraction from current Argentine domestic and economic problems.

It is part of the Argentinian culture, when they don't get what they want they think bullying, threats, screaming, feign being insulted, bang their fists on the table, slam doors is part of a normal negotiation. EVERY 3 days; no electricity, massive damage to public and private property, lost wages, lost productivity, Sewage filled streets, and yet NOTHING GETS FIXED.

Ahh but CFK can spend U$1MM on a private jet or U$2MM on a house for her UNEMPLOYED SON all while her personal accounts grew day by day.

    Back to theme.

UK has every right to excercise the right to self defence under article 51 of the UN Charter. A charter to which Argentina is a signatory. Cameron has every right to say the UK will excercise that r.ght, nothing provocative or militarising about that.

Given the overwhelming force used the last time they invaded, it makes sense to have sufficient strength there and on standby, should they consider the same action again.

@189--I think we need to remind our Argie posters exactly why it is the UK has military forces down in the SA. It is because of the sneaky sly weasels continued threats and intimidation of the islands, the comments of the Argie government that the only reason they have not attacked again is because of the UK forces stationed on the islands.

It still amazes me that they continue to bleat on about the UK militarising the SA, FFS it is because of these muppets and there aggressive actions and behaviour, they are a total embarrassment.

A superb f'you to Christina from the UK's leading left-wing blog, Left Foot Forward: http://www.leftfootforward.org/2013/01/a-letter-to-the-president-of-argentina/

“It is interesting that you coincide your call for the Falklands at a time when your own people have been protesting at the endemic failures of your right-wing government. Argentina faces removal from the IMF and is ranked toward the bottom of the world table on perceptions of corruption. While you ‘never wear an outfit twice’ and cover yourself in jewels and designer labels your own people are suffering. Playing the Falklands card might be a nice smokescreen for your own policy failures but it will not help Argentina out of the mess you have left her in, just as it didn't help the dictatorial junta that invaded in 1982.”

“The Falklands have never had an indigenous population – but the current inhabitants have a better claim than anyone to being natives. Like Britain, Argentina has a shameful colonial past – it is therefore odd to act holier than thou when your own country is founded upon the blood of Amerindians. Europeans conquered Argentina, their descendants tried to conquer the Falklands and now, having failed, you act surprised that Britain and the Islanders feel there is nothing to negotiate.”

“Perhaps one day a President of Argentina will write to a British paper apologising for the invasion, apologising for the dishonouring of our war dead and recognising the Falkland Islanders’ sovereignty. Until then, I too look to the United Nations. So let’s take this back to first principles, Chapter 1, Article 1, part 2 of the UN Charter – the right to self-determination.”

Hello you anti-argie chimpanzian tossers, I have rebarbative tidings.

I am partaking in a salubrious and well accorded furlough from duty! I depart at 4:40. So in my sorely mourned absence I would enjoin you to remain leery of your redaction, I will be sdrutinizing your contributions once I return, and admonishing, objurgating, and castigating with due commeupance all transgressions, fibs, prevarications, mendacities, vituperations, and obloquy.

As a latitudinarian gesture, I hope the British posters here can during my leave finally find a job so they can become productive citizens again, but given the country they live in I hold exceedingly reduced expectations they will succeed. Such is the nature of Broken Britain.

I also will propitiate the higher powers that they may protect Yankeeboy from the approximately 15 mass shootings that will certainly take place in his morally forlorn nation of his. I hold hope he and others around him will not die of a heart attack when they hear achild's balloon popping when he attends a movie theater next weekend, thinking it was a mass shooter on the lose, as it is now customary as a visceral reaction in the peaceful, chariming United States.

I will also pray for Captain Poppy to be able to afford his milk at least until February, before him along with half of the USA is forced to brew Bermuda grass for breakfast when milk goes to 8 dollars.

I will also keep in my thoughts Anglotino, so that Australia is spared this year from some massive cyclone, biblical flood, disastrous drought, or some mice plague. You know, every year is something different in that forsaken locale.

I will pray for the other Europeans from France to Spain to Italy, so that they have enough food to eat.

I will hope Germany is spared another mass outbreak of deadly bacteria in alfalfa sprouts.

I will ponder over Latin America ex-Argentina, and hope they can someday even come remotely close to what Argentina did in its history.

    And with that, ttyl!!!

Why thank you so much. It would’ve been nice if this was a sincere wish, however a prolific use of archaic language hardly masked your schadenfreude.

Unfortunately for you, you can’t retract this comment and it is there for all to see.

While there are no cyclones, floods, droughts or mice problems right now, we are facing one of the worst bushfires seasons ever. You probably didn’t even realise that emergency services are currently combing the devastating bushfires in Tasmania looking for bodies in some of the 100+ burnt homes. I doubt few could take perverse pleasure in that.

    http://www.theage.com.au/environment/weather/dome-of-heat-to-stretch-fire-services-to-the-limit-20130108-2cdes.html

Though it is interesting that you only mention natural disasters, for even though “every year is something different in that forsaken locale” we have still managed to build one of the best run, prosperous and stable nations on the planet. With less than half the population and just over 200 years European settlement than Argentina we have managed to create a country with one of the highest standards of living together with low unemployment, high growth, low inflation, low corruption, strong institutions, stable society and a resilient democracy.

Yes, I see now why you highlighted natural disasters.

These are not inflicted by incompetent government. Our authorities fighting these disasters are not politicised or emasculated by a populist government. Our infrastructure is not crumbling due lack of investment by short sighted governments that try to distract us with nationalistic jingoism.

Thank you again for letting me highlight how well my country is managed compared to yours.
