“The idea is that the arrival be a celebration and that nothing strange happens,” Cardozo said”

You could not make this up,only in Argentina celebrating out of not paying your debts even though the bailiff is still knocking at the door

Jammy pirates, at least they realise they mustn't stray far from port in future.

Should keep their aggressive colonialist adventurism in check though.

What on earth has “sovereignty party” to do with the arrival of these two vessels?

Only arrogant Argentinos could see this as a reason for celebration.

Unpaid debts still there and rising, default risk still rising, 7 pesos to dollar, inflation 30% etc....

Time to crack open the Champagne for sure.

'To travel to Asia, Cristina chartered a plane for a million dollars - In record time and without prior tender, the Government has just hired a British company to transport President Cristina Kirchner on his tour of Asia. in the coming days, the President should pay around a million dollars to charter a Global Express , a luxury jet market is distinguished by its endurance. ? Why not use the Tango 01? Aviation sources say there fear an embargo outside the country, as happened with the frigate Libertad.'

Would you like something to read, “No we want our Islands back!”
Would you care for a pillow, “No we want our Islands back!”

@18 Yeah, but fortunately Argentina has no military might. Venezuela, the only likely ally, is rather preoccupied. They will not want any of their military anywhere but at home in the coming years. And I doubt they will be so very much an ally after Chavez, who is on his deathbed.

I agree that if Palin had been elected VP and McCain dropped dead from the stress of being POTUS, she probably would have gone to war with someone, anyone, if she could find it on a map.

I do not think any of her so called allies, would be foolish enough to get involved in a conflict with our armeded forces. They are well aware of our capabilities and not through any great intelligence work either.

Since 9/11 all they have had to do to see those capabilities, is to turn their Television on and tune in to the World News. The capabilities of our forces are there for all to see. Not to forget of course, that those forces have now more that a decade of combat experience, are equipped witth the latest military hardware available and last but not least, are all veterans and well capable of using it. I'm not bragging, I'm just saying it as it is.

They would be foolish to start anything and they know it.

    Thanks for the question!!! :o)

I live permanently in Uruguay and no longer have a house or other residence in the UK: so I no longer have a vote.

Yes, it seems ridiculous that India and Pakistan can arrange for all their citizens, even the homeless ones to vote, but no so the UK.

However, I have to admit a liking for UKIP and Nigel Farage, but they will get nowhere other than to rob the Conservatives of voter share. I am certainly NOT a supporter of the BNP, they are neo-Nazis.

The UK is, dare I say it, a bit like AG: a one horse race as far as my political leanings are concerned.

In a fight between TMBOA and CMD, I'd put my money on CMD.

Of course Britain will defend the Falklands, but it doesn't hurt to remind the Argentine government of that fact.

I think another Type 45 deployment to the area is in order, and who knows, maybe Uruguay will 'sight' a RN submarine again ;)

As for the Libertad and Espora, I'm glad the sailors are returning home to their families. No doubt TMBOA is already spending money on minting them “I dodged the bailiff” medals. :)

You all can claim it was a humiliation but absolutely no one will remember the incident in 12 months. However, everyone will remember how Argentina is becoming the 1st nation in history to time and time again defeat the vultures.

Argentina contracted more than the UK in the second quarter of 2012 (-0.9 to -0.4) and grew slower in the third quarter (0.6 to 0.9). Supposedly advanced economies like Australia and Britain should always have slower growth than developing countries like Argentina. So let's not even get started on Chile's annual 5.7% or Uruguay's 3.0% or Peru's 6.5%.

Didn't you know that she left Ghana with guns blazing and her heroic crew fighting off the pirates of the Royal Navy who were waiting for her out at sea. In the ensuing fight, she sank HMS Astute by ramming it ,seriously damaged HMS Daring then left her pursuers in her wake. Of course the British will lie about their ignominious defeat but the whole world will know the truth.
No doubt WPP will be called on to produce an advertising campaign with T shirts and stickers to celebrate the glorious victory.

“I wish I were there to receive this beautiful and battle scarred ship. I am sure that I would have a grand time in majestic Mar del Plata as I did in 1998 with my Argentine Navy Colleagues. What a glorious day for Argentina and Latin Amreica. An example of steadfastness and commitment. ”

Stop it, stop it, you're killing me !!!

Killing me with laughter, LOL LOL LOL !!!

You?? You, in the Argentine Navy??? LOL

On another thread, you said you were in the US Navy!! Even more ridiculous!!!

Go on, say some 'navy' things. Waiting, how funny!

“Keen thinking Mdme. President. ” STOP, please !!

    ROFL - oh how funny!!

“...on behalf on the working people of the United States of America. Our Nation, People, and Government are behind you 110%”

What do you know of 'working people'??

You spend all your time on here, despising them as suckers and perpetuating CFK's lies so that she can rob them and manipulate them.

That would have been the funniest line yet, if it were not so sad.

Honestly, this is the most stupid posted you've ever come up with!

Obviously some are still squirming about the victory of this great ship
under the protection of international law in the world struggle against the usurers and vultures. Many were hoping to see this marvel sail into the Thames or Portsmouth as a vulture prize. Dream on, dream on.

Instead, on January 9 she will sail into Mar Del Plata with hundreds of boats to welcome her, thousands upon thousands of visitors to chear her and her crew. Only a rehersal for theMalvinas recovery party.
    Pass the bubbly.

It will be interesting to see if she appears in public, in her own country, at least.

It has been said that a lot of money has been offered to her personal guards and border and security forces to do her in.

    Waiting.

Americans who support the Argentine claim on the Falklands are often left-oriented and are very sensitive to race matters. As such they do not use racists pejoratives like you did on a previous Libertad thread which the moderator had the class to remove. And if you were indeed a racist Californian you would have used a very different racist epithet against Africans than the one you chose. You might as well have misspelled color with a ”u.”

California was NOT stolen from the Mexicans - they sold it to the US when they realised it would cost too much to keep it.

Mexicans, the educated ones, will tell you it was not stolen. The 'theft' is a myth, like the Malvinas issue

It's funny, my Mexican tour guide (and historian) trained by the Mexican Gov't Tourist Authority, made a point of relating the story.

I just spent a couple of weeks in Cslifornia. No sign of you.
In fact, NO frothing, angry, demented, weirdos encountered at all !!

As to CFK, lots of nasty comments on an African forum over Xmas.
It seems that the 'real' African posters don't like Argentina and their government and government trolls, insulting them.

    I wonder why???

    The Argies won't understand that.

SPAIN , those rotten Europeans, they stole it from the Indians and the Mexicans inherited it from Spain, and THEN, the unprincipled Brit culture, US stole it from Mexico.
    - THAT would resonate better with our Argentine audience.

Argentina inherited Mexico because of the treaty they signed with the Aztec empress Kristazumatina, as mentioned in the ancient Mayan texts, next to (or even “adjacent to”) the bit about the end of the world that happened just the other week.

    “The Malvinas are Argentinas”

The Malvinas are imaginary islands, invented by Spanish people's of South America in the early 1800's.

However, only Falkland Islanders live in the Falkland Islands. They have been there for 180 years, living peacefully and uninterrupted until 31 years ago, when 10,000 Argentinian troops sneak attacked the unarmed civilian population and imprisoned them.
Millions of average Argentine citizens cheered in the streets that Argentina was great, and their junta government was great.

Less than 3 months later, a smaller force of British soldiers liberated the Islanders and defeated the illegal occupiers.

Thousands of Argentine protesters declared that the Junta was now bad.

    Now, it starts again.
