You see massive pro government slogans everywhere on peoples homes, libraries, schools. Overnight a 30 foot slogan will appear sprayed quickly on the side of a school wall. You name it they don' t care. And from what I saw it outnumbers anti government slogans by about 10 to 1 which goes to show how hysterical and insecure they are. Its obvious that its organised because there are only 2 or 3 slogans repeated everywhere. Every street in everytown defaced by the government with the public's money. A pathetic way to run a government.
At least in Cuba, where communism and a totalitarian state makes no pretence and declares itself as such, the government erects monuments and constructs billboards for slogans, rather than deface homes, public, or now, privately owned, buildings.

All of my friends from there were/are professionals in their 30s! Most of them live at home still and have no hopes to be able to afford to ever move out of their parent's house, can't travel, can barely afford a car and the ones with families of their own are asking me for $! It is super sad.
@52 No disrespect to anyone but I kinda hope you don't give money. None of my business but I never, ever, give money even when gently hustled as happens in many of the countries I visit, though particularly in Central America. I've heard enough sob-stories and details of businesses I might want to invest in to last a lifetime.

In Argentina it is tough because they are encouraged to have developed world aspirations whilst never really having the ability to achieve them. I still think one good and powerful leader could change the fortunes of that country.
Elaine, I never give them money. I may buy clothes or shoes for the kids when I visit but never money.

Bolivia and Ecuador are too small and poor to be of any consequence to anyone and Brazil, Peru, Chile, Columbia are (mostly) aligned with the USA.
I understand Venezuelan officials have already been knocking on Cap Hill and State's doors to try to get better relations with us.
Hopefully the Chavez nightmare will be over soon.

Seriously, you don't know the answer to that one? What is this? Some kind of Star Trek bullsh*t, the needs of the many outwiegh the needs of the few? well, let me enlighten you on that.
1/ There are 3,000 British in the Falklands. Not 300
2/ 40 million wrongs do not make a Right
3/ If it is written in your constitution that the Falklands Islands are Argentine, then your constitution is a lie.
4/ It is not just the British that would agree with me, there are plenty of other nations in the world that are willing to take the word / vote / opinion of 1 British person, over the word / vote / opinion of 40 million Argentinians. Other nations have seen what liars / cheats you are. They also know you would sell your own mothers for the right price and can not be trusted with anything.
5/ what of the lands that you have stolen from your neighbours? Are you going to show “Good faith” and return them to their rightfull owners??

Great to see her fighting Scioli, can't imagine she'll just hnd over to him because he's a Peronist. She's so right that the haters are hypocrites and a President would be hypocritical to try to please everyone. Its just she pleases the sectors that most Presidents opress (as Scioli most likely would) and angers those who most Presidents (and definately Scioli) would appease - the banksters, hedge funders and vultures. And she's winning, don't take my word for it, just look at those lovely pictures of her with the ship =)
