President Cristina Fernandez thanked Indonesia for the “permanent support” extended to Argentina in the “Malvinas cause” and reiterated that Argentina is only asking for the UK to respect and abide the United Nations resolution, but at the same time attacked multilateral organizations such as the UN and WTO for “favouring the great powers”. Could any Malvinista on here please explain what sort of tangible support Indonesia will give CFK over the Falklands? Or is is more like my family's support for the Arsenal FC? We've never bought a ticket for a match, any official merchandise or been members of the club. But we support them!
I sure did pick the wrong time to go to the UK. It's bloody freezing. Don't like my chances of getting back out of here on time according to the forecasts either.

I think there is no mention in the press because Indonesia values the direct and indirect aid it receives from the UK over the scary ranting lady's empty promises (again). The government was being diplomatic, and so nodded at the appropriate moments but was unsure and pretty hacked off that the visit to their shores was not about them, but was usurped into a distraction ploy for Argentina's internal issues.

@23 What's wrong with the SAS? Why isn't she dead?
@33 Try to understand. Five nations - China, France, Russia, UK, USA - that suffered from the nazis and their slant-eyed pals. Five nations that put their existence on the line. Five nations that fought through, some more than others - delete France, Russia and USA - and won! Note that France was mostly a Nazi colony. Russia stole many countries until the Nazis attacked in 1941. USA couldn't be bothered until attacked by Japan. Pretty pointless until 1942. When WW2 was half won. Who put its entire wealth, its very existence on the line? Couldn't be understood by arsieland. No guts.
Important words: We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender,
WE haven't changed. A simple bit of advice for arsieland: If we have nothing else, we will send the people of Britain. Armed with knives, forks and maybe even spoons. We will use the knives to cut your throats, the forks to stab holes in you and the spoons to scoop out your eyes. We will turn you into slime. We will smash your skulls under our boots. Live or die. Your choice! Please choose to die! Killing argies is a mission.

Jan 18th, 2013 - 06:56 pm - Link - Report abuse 0The great world-scale agencies of stability are not favouring the 'great powers', as CFK suggests.
They are simply 'dis-favouring' renegade states who do not play by the rules of the game. The world simply cannot operate as an integrated whole if there are too many rogue states.
A frequent - or even an occasional - collapse of world-stability will confer on many societies catastrophies of biblical proportions. Think in terms of the Horses of the Apocalypse - Conquest, War, Famine, and Death.
Do Argentines really understand how stupid this woman makes you all look?? and do they understand the phrase PAYING HER LIP SERVICE??? when this woman belives she is somehow getting SUPPORT for her cause all these other leaders are saying is Just Agree With Her And Get Rid Of The Bitch, serious do you really think Indonesia gives a RATS ASS about SS Hitler Kirchners colonial dreams???

How is this a victory. Indonesia put their boot down on East Timor's face and fails. Argentina put their boot down on the Falklands' face and fails. Now they are in agreement that it's just not fair that people don't like it when they step on them. Of course they don't. And the jackboots inevitably and incessantly demand to be seen as the victim of the liberated.

It's a bit like someone running around telling lies and gossip about you to whom ever will listen.Suddenly there might to be a mob at your front door. It would do well for the UK to study her heinous type of politics. She has a pattern.
Jan 19th, 2013 - 03:22 am - Link - Report abuse 0The UN was of course founded by the victors of WW II, and had Argentina chosen to join in the fight against Nazism and the imperialism it claims to so nobly oppose, it might well have gained its own seat at the top table.
Jan 19th, 2013 - 07:59 am - Link - Report abuse 0Unfortunately, declaring war against Hitler after his defeat doesn't really cut it as the major sacrifice necessary. And one may wonder indeed what Argentina is doing in the UN at all, since it clearly rejects two of the most fundamental principles of the organisation, namely the peaceful resolution of disputes, and the right of self-determination.
But then again, standards at the UN aren't all that high. It's not like the IMF or the WTO, for example, where you're expected to tell the truth and respect the rules you've signed up to.
@41 Why? If you were to keep up, you would find that I now place the population of the south eastern latin america into one of two groups. One group I refer to as Argentines. These are sane, sensible, intelligent people who can read, think for themselves, reason and are much like other civilised people. The other group I refer to as arsies. I used to call them argies, but then I decided to be more accurately descriptive. These are largely insane, or brainwashed, or both. They may have heard of the word intelligent but that's as far as it goes. They may be able to read but they can only read what they're told to read. This tends to be limited to material produced by the government and banners. Thinking is also something they do rarely and never well. Reasoning is also beyond them. As an example, the ability to reason that one plus one equals two. This inability is often demonstrated on this very board. In 1831, after the visit of the USS Lexington to the Falkland Islands, there were about 24 people left on the Islands. In 1833, when the illegal United Provinces garrison for the illegal United Provinces penal colony was required to leave, the records show that 4 civilians went with it. Amazingly, when arsies recount this incident, they have trouble reasoning that twenty-four minus four leaves twenty. As a result, their account always ends with the entire United Provinces settlement being expelled. I, and many others, have spent years pointing out that this is incorrect and is not supported by any evidence. But, if you look at recent pronouncements by CFK, you can see that, according to arsie reasoning, twenty four minus four still equals zero. By any reasonable standard, anyone that can't reason is sub-human. Reason is what distinguishes homo sapiens from animals. What do you do when you have a large group of vicious animals threatening a human population?

In 2011, Indonesia stated the following ”HASAN KLEIB (Indonesia) said his delegation had always strongly upheld that uniform and universal criteria could not be applied to every situation of the decolonization question, as every case was unique. That was demonstrated in the case of the Falkland Islands (Malvinas), as the historical and political backgrounds of Argentina and the United Kingdom did not fit the so-called “traditional” decolonization scenarios. The General Assembly resolutions on the question encouraged both parties to seek a peaceful settlement and urged accelerated negotiations, with the objective of reaching an early agreement corresponding to the best interest of the Islands’ population. Indonesia called upon the Governments of Argentina and the United Kingdom to take advantage of the “solid relationship” established between them through the years, and to renew negotiations. The delegation further hoped that the draft resolution, which it would support, would be adopted by consensus.
Jan 22nd, 2013 - 08:04 am - Link - Report abuse 0In what way does that support the Argie claim? If anything it just says we hope you both talk but whatever you decide should be in the islanders' interests”, no?
