Obama begins his second mandate; the public ceremony and pomp on Monday

Barack Obama has officially been sworn in for his second term as US president in a small ceremony at the White House. Although the US Constitution requires the oath of office to be taken by noon on 20 January, that falls on a Sunday so the public inauguration will take place on Monday. Read full article

I had a thought. Why don't the falkland islanders, a democratic and ideological ally, become independent. They can then use lobby groups paid for by foreign groups to buy senatorial seats and ask the USA to protect them with $6bil a year in foreign aid allowing them to buy and develop weaponry to protect them from their aggressor. They could even use some of the money to build a big wall to protect them from the belligerent power.

Oh wait, they're not jewish... fail of plan.

Mr Obama vowed “to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States”.

Except that he (and previous Presidents) have destroyed the USA Constitution.

*drone wars = no Hapeus Corpus
*Patriot Act = unlawful search and seizures
*Executive Orders to legislate
*NDAA = Police State

Essentially the USA that I once knew is a gonner :(
